Hotel La Solitude

Location: very conveniently located to walk to the Grotto. Room offers nice view of Gave de Pau. Breakfast area with beautiful Gave de Pau view.

Very old carpet. Small single sink in bathroom . Take shower in small bath tub, can slip & fall if not careful. Can¿t turn around while taking shower. Toilet in different room. Bar soap, shampoo, conditioner NOT provided. Only soap dispenser!

The bathrooms were clean and updated. The location was very close to the grotto.

The major issue here is that they close the street after 6 pm and there is no way to drive to the hotel. We did not know this and wasted two hours then had to park a distance away and drag our luggage down busy streets and over a bridge.

The location is ideally close to the Basilia of Our Lady of the Rosary and everything grotto, Bernadette and Our Blessed Mother Mary. The breakfast was awesome tended to by a tireless though courteous and smiling staff.

We could not control the room temperature. The room at night was too hot. Thank God we could open the windows.

The location is great, the reception area is lovely.

The breakfast is terrible, cold amd miserable. One of our group was celiac no understanding that celiac bread needs to be toasted separately from wheat bread. Rooms are very dated.

Location is fabulous. Staff lovely.

Pool area very poor. Awful smell when we opened the door to the pool so didn't use

Wonderful location & staff esp Patricia and the other young man on reception. Had a fabulous meal in the bar with delicious trout on Thursday. Very clean and quiet

Lovely view over the river. Liked the plentiful breakfast. Lots of choices for different dietary needs. Added bonus was the enclosed pool on the 7th floor and 10% discount at the hotel shop.

Hôtel was spotlessly clean and the views from the room was great. The seating area outside the bar was fab. The room was very nice

Breakfast was poor, but there was an okay selection. Staff were accommodating and friendly

The location was excellent and the view of the river. The salad I had was phenomenal and really enjoyed it.

Although it was great to have a pool. It was very small. But still enjoyable.

Great location and a great view. Enjoyed the roof top pool as well.

Only concern was that house keeping obviously had not realised we were there - still in bed asleep and loudly knocked and then proceeded to enter the room without waiting for a response- this was alarming and happened twice on the same morning so concerns that house keeping were not given the correct information as check out was at 11:00 and we did not appreciated being woken at 8:00 - so please let house keeping know as did affect how we felt about our stay here. Thank you. Apart from that was a convenient place to stay and quiet.

It was nice clean and walking distance to the grotto of our Lady of Lourdes and all the shops and restaurants

Center location easy access

The location is very good. The downstairs space is comfortable and welcoming. The bar staff are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the fact that there was a piano as it was our friends that were playing and singing each evening which added to the joyful atmosphere. The view from our room was great

The shower in our bathroom was unusable

Great location however very difficult for car parking if you can’t reserve at the hotel. Good restaurant and bar and very friendly staff.

Room was spacious, clean and had a kettle

The food was not great, and breakfast was expensive. The diy boiled egg was a mess! The fish for dinner was very unappealing

Location is the bast food are super so delicious especially Starter salad have variety staff are very polite and friendly the top floor swimming pool and the view is amazing

Staff were lovely and very helpful throughout our stay.

Rooms were very noisy as you could hear people up and down the corridors doors banging etc..

Breakfast great as usual.

Change the bath for a walkbin shower. I have been using the Solitude for over 10 years buy alas am.now 85 years old and not as steady on my feet as I used to be. I could not use the shower as it was too dangerous to step in or out of. Likewise my wife and 2 friends in another room.
