Grand Hôtel Moderne

The hotel was absolutely beautiful, with many Art Nouveau touches in the architecture; its location was perfect, right next to the sanctuary; it had a beautiful view of the candlelight processional; and the staff was GREAT.

I wished for in-room dining, a king bed (and a softer one; the beds were a bit hard) rather than two twin beds, and a bit better breakfast.

Old, historic hotel right across the street from the Lourdes sanctuary entrance; clean, comfortable, amazing food, very friendly and helpful staff. I also appreciated the late check out time of noon!

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful particularly in helping with parking. The location was perfect for getting to the grotto as well as walking through the town.

Room and beds were fab. One member of staff was exceptionally lovely. They sorted out an issue with Booking.com very well and was most welcoming. No name unfortunately. Very close to the Sanctuire Lourdes. Lovely building though.

Breakfast was awful considering what we paid for the stay. Bread, cakes, pastries and yoghurt. Not enough choice for a wholesome breakfast. Was offered the egg menu on the second day which only offered eggs done 4 ways. Think this was additional but they took care of it. We didn't enjoy the breakfast service at all. Asked for a couple of tea bags for the room and were told that there are only enough tea bags for the first day. They put 4 sets of towels out every day for two people but could not put an extra tea bag or sachet of coffee. They charge €55 euros to book a taxi to the airport when the fair is €30 - 35.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is literally located across the street from the Sanctuary of Lourdes so this was a plus especially for my mother who has trouble walking long distances. Dinner was amazing, even better than some we had in Paris.

Restaurant during dinner serves drinks in plastic bottles, which not even many street eateries do, but price is restaurant….Does not correspond to a four-star hotel.The beds were not comfortable.

The location was perfect and the front office staff were the best. They were very helpful, gave helpful information and were very proactive. We shall definitely stay at the property again.

The front desk staff was excellent Simon and Paulo to name a few. All were superb in helping the guest with a genuine smile. The location to the Grotto is the best in town .

Our room must have allowed smoking- it was terrible. The towels were very old and should be replaced. The dining room staff were not interested in providing good service. I’ll never eat there again.

They up graded our room! The staff was extremely helpful and the bartender made us a wonderful drink. The dinner was very delicious. We really enjoyed our stay!!Thank you

The breakfast was cold as the sterno was out. For the price we wouldn’t do that again!

Location and the reception staff

Carpet in the rooms need to be replaced as it was filled with stain and dusty. The kettle as well need to be removed because it was rusty. The cleaners were very slacked. The tissues next to the bin was there during my whole duration of our stay.

The location was perfect, the staff were wonderful, polite, helpful and very friendly. The room was perfect, very comfortable. There was a delicious menu available to consider each day for lunch and dinner. There was ample to choose from for breakfast as well

Not having a writing desk was a huge inconvenience. Swap out the vanity set for a writing desk. No one needs a vanity set. Every room benefits with a comfortable writing desk and sensible chair.

Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived until we left yesterday. The staff are truly wonderful and so so helpful. Our room was extremely clean and a wonderful view. We loved every moment of our stay and will return next year.

Breakfast has enough varieties!

With a two-three hour breakfast period, milk tends to get warm for those guests arriving later. It is not nice to have warm milk with cereal.

The location and the staff at reception we're exceptionally helpful.

Layout of room was not practical. Style seemed more important than functionality. Bath too deep.

Old fashioned elegance describes this hotel perfectly. Good restaurant, perfectly located for the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes. Multi storey car park nearby at €15 per night
