Hotel Saint Etienne

It is close to every thing. bath room good size but flooding when you take shower

bed/sheet not comfortable, breakfast same for 3 straight days no hot foods.

The location is only walking distance from Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, a gentleman who assisted us during check in was very nice, thank you. and thank you also for a gentleman during check-out, he helped us to call the taxi since we have 5 suitcases. we will stay in this place if we come back to Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes.

If you have a lot of suitcases like me better to book taxi in advance because of the hilly road.

Excellent location, only a five-minute walk to the Grotto

The mattress was a bit old, but otherwise, the stay was great

The hotel is midway between the Sanctuary and the train station; you can reach both on foot. Breakfast is good, and variety of food is available. Staff are accommodating and friendly. Since we came before the check-in time, we were allowed to keep our luggage in their storage, and even after check-out at 11 am, we were allowed to keep our luggage since our train would leave at 7 pm.

Kettle is not available, when you want to drink tea or coffee or drink warm water at the middle of the night.

It was dirty, filthy spiderwebs around the walls, furniture broken. Plugs not working dirty sheets, linen.

Our room had 2 steps from bathroom to bedroom. Was a bit challenging with a husband who has MS and is up several times a night.

Very good location and helpful staff. You can borrow a hair dryer at the front desk (none in the room)

Aggressively budget—- toilet paper sheets in a dispenser one by one, not on a roll. Very uncomfortable thin mattress.

Its proximity to the Grotto.

The room was humid and no a/c installed. The toilet bowl needs good scrubbing. The toilet’s odorous, and the wifi connection in our room was very weak if not non-existent. I have to go down the lobby area for a better wifi reception.

I would give 2 stars not 3 stars to this hotel. No air conditioning in the room, no hair dryer, very very slow internet. Breakfast buffet with no choices (one kind of cheese, one kind of jambon, only 1 croissant per person),

Simple varied breakfast downstairs. Great elevator. Some English spoken which helped for direction to the train station. Calm and relaxed compared to some sites.The drinking water is yummy.

Dinner in was unavailable on the night I wanted it.Also, my problem was getting lost on foot. If travelling to Lourdes by rail, in what should be all downhill from the station by foot I suggest plotting out the ~10 minute journey ahead of time ***in reverse** (~four streets from memory) - as the town has a remarkable terrain that google failed miserably on. My journey to the hotel from the rail took ~60 minutes. Wish I'd worked it out ahead of time, or turned right from the rail station and headed past the pharmacie towards the Basillica which is sign-posted and there are people around to ask the way to the pharmacie which is in sight from outside the hotel. The hotel name has a blue sign over the path.

It's near by the church.

Bathroom is dirty and old. You need to ask for the hair dryer.

The room was clean and had a comfortable bed. I had a pleasant stay and Monsieur Fred was very kind and helpful lending me an adapter plug so that i could charge my phone as i had left mine at home. The horel responded very promptly to my email requesting information prior to my stay also .

There wasn’t variety of breakfast, everyday same breakfast.No hot water for 2nights, had to go to bed without a wash. It wasn’t very pleasant. Would have been better to have hot breakfast.

Bed mattress and towels are so worn out!

Room smell musty and damped not good with asthmatic guest. Bed is so lumpy and over used just like the towels.
