Hotel Alegria

The hotel was very charming and the location was perfect. It was centrally located but not busy or loud.

We did not get a remodeled room as described on the website but it was still very charming. The bar and food staff was a bit reserved when it came to service in the evening. I had to come looking for them every time I needed anything.

Location was perfect, room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was full of great choices, staff was courteous.

The room’s AC reset itself to a too warm temperature every single night.

Great facade on the square in terrific location. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

The room was small and dark and expensive compared to a similar hotel we stayed at earlier in our trip.

Very pleasant older botique hotel in a nice part of town within walking distance of central Lisbon, the Rossio train station and numerous good restaurants. Staff very pleasant and helpful.. shout out to Raelly from Brazil who checked us in and gave us some restaurant recommendations and even got us a table at Al Velhas just around the corner from the hotel. Excellent food and service there also. Our room on the 3rd floor was clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast buffet had a nice selection of yogurt, cold meats and cheese and bread and pastries in the European style. The hotel faces the Praca da Alegria, a nice little historic square with a food and beverage kiosk maintained by the hotel. Overall a very pleasant stay. We would book here again should we return to Lisbon.

The buffet lacked hot food, eggs in particular although you could order scrambled eggs for a charge, which we opted not to do. There was bacon and sausage. A very minor issue for us.

EVERYTHING!!!This hotel is TOTALLY underrated by Booking.com's rating system!! Perhaps rankings are depending on the age of a facility or the person who did the ranking was on to something when he/she rated Alegria, but for sure only 3 stars is absurd for such an overall high quality accommodation! I've been in quite some hotels ranked with 4+ stars but those did not come anywhere near to the wellbeing we felt and care we got in Alegria. An ABSOLUTE wonderful place and we'll for sure be back there! Thanks to the whole Alegria staff which manages to create this cozy 'home-away-from-home' atmosphere..We truly enjoyed it to the fullest!

NOTHING!!!

Enjoyed interactions with staff, including your offered by the hotel. The breakfast was excellent and as we had to leave prior to it's opening, a bagged breakfast was provided which made it all the way to Canada! Thx

Perfect place to stay in Lisboa!

we did not get the breakfast. it was 18 euros and that is too expensive.

the nespresso machine in the room made waterlike coffee. there was no half and half available.

Nice, quiet location with easy distance to everything. Bar across the street in a lovely park setting. Good breakfast.

We liked the location, the boutique style, comfy bed, historical aspects, spacious room, small and friendly, and the staff was so helpful with directions, reserving taxis, tuk tuks, the cafe outside

Large comfortable room- 24 hour front desk- we arrived late!

Location was great, just one short block from Libertad (sp) street and very quiet. Clean, comfortable, had a lift when we were tired from the Lisbon hills. Great pastry shop across the square from hotel

Bed was a little too firm for me, but that was it.

Excellent Location - close to Av Libertade but far enough not to be bothered by traffic noise, across from a very charming park and cafe, walking distance to several Metro and bus stops and a 10-15 min walk to the heritage city center. Room was large by European standards, it felt very luxurious!

It is next to a local recycling area and a lot of construction of nearby buildings.

The bed was too firm and the bathroom needs work. It is up a slippery hill to get to the property from the main street.

The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming! I arrived very early and they stored my bags / made me feel right at home. The location is lovely - overseeing a beautiful park and walkable to other great spots. The breakfast was delicious and room was so cozy, clean and overlooked the park :)

The location is excellent, right on a little square and very quiet, although not far from the 'main drag'. The staff were very helpful and welcoming, and the room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant had a nice breakfast and we loved the 'fish of the day'.

The only very minor negative is that when we were there the building next door was empty with graffiti and garbage bins, which isn't very attractive. However, this did not impact our stay.

Breakfast was a full featured buffet with eggs cooked to requests. Pastries, juices, fruits, cheeses and meats were excellent. Plenty of room in the dining areas. The decor is luxurious and classic. Location of hotel is perfect. Centrally located to shopping and restaurants and a walk across the Praca Alegria metro station. Style, decor, comfy beds. Friendly, helpful and attentive staff. Delicious breakfast. An old world cute comfortable boutique hotel. Would definitely recommend and stay there again

Heritage character, comfort, location

The location was great. The staff was very friendly.

The bed was very hard.
