Pros +
- The location of the hotel is perfect for anyone who wants to stay in the center of the city and close to all the places to see.
- People amazing. The staff is so nice but the hotel needs upgrades. We thought that the Trevor¿s were over six months ago and still they don¿t repair many things. Administration and owners should pay attention to the guests needs.
- Location and breakfast were both great. Breakfast dining area was the cleanest and best room space in the hotel. Breakfast staff was fiendly.
Cons -
- Only thing is that there is no parking close to the hotel, if you have your own transport And that I had to pay extra to have a room with the castle view :(.
- Carpet inside the room is filthy and no carpet on the floor outside. Fridge was dirty and looks old and some odors.
- Rooms and common areas need renovation. Carpets were worn, dirty and stained. BEdspreads were dirty and stained and should just be tossed and just leave the white coverlet. Room needed paint touch up through out.

Location near the heart of Lisbon. Great breakfast selection. Helpful staff.
Stairs required to get to the elevator and front desk. My husband hurt his back getting the suitcases up the stairs to the elevator. Since it was a street entrance, there was no one to help.
Location
Diid not have even one chanel in English
The free breakfast is a big plus.
AC didn¿t work.
Location
It is in an excellent location to get everywhere in Lisbon. Lovely breakfast/sitting area overlooking the square. Friendly helpful staff. Rooms are small but that's to be expected.
There didn't seem to be a way to control the temperature in the room and it was hot. Minor issue
The location was very good. It was a convient location with lots of activities around. The room was clean, but seems like the heating was not on. The toilet was spacious and clean. The breakfast was very good and the staff were very nice and helpful.
Just the heating in the room.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for moving around. The room was very clean and smelled amazing. It was a birthday celebration stay. They gave complimentary champagne, which was very nice. Great breakfast selection, especially the fresh fruits.
Location
Too hot and thermostat did not do anything. Only two settings were off and on, and even off did not help. The room was very dark, and the noise from the street was all day and all night.
The hotel room was large and immaculately clean, sheets and towels changed every day. Piping hot water irrespective of what time we had a shower. Plenty of soap and shower gel, replaced daily. There is a balcony giving wonderful views of Rossio Square up to the castle The reception was manned 24 hours per day and the staff were very knowledgeable and friendly, speaking perfect English and of course, Portuguese. The breakfast was served from 07:30, but 1 day we were going on a trip and they opened early for us. Scrambled and boiled eggs, bacon, cheese and meats and a good selection of breads and pastries, yoghurt, breakfast cereal, in fact every thing you would want. We 100% recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to get a bit of luxury in the centre of Lisbon. I see some complained about the noise, it did not bother us at any time, and it is right bang in the centre, you would expect a wee bit of noise!
Nothing, luxury at a great cost.
The location is the best. It is close to main tourist attractions, shopping area and public transportation; bus, tram, train. Staff are very helpful and so kind.Room is super clean.I love it!!! ❤️❤️
Clean and tidy rooms with a continental breakfast. Right on the square and close to train station (walking distance). Pretty much in centre of Lisbon.
Perfect location. Central to everything. Staff very helpful
No kettle in room and fridge not cold
The staff and the location were excellent. The breakfast was lovely. It was a bath shower. The power of the shower was fantastic
Location, Rossio SquareBreakfast Staff
Room was a little tired Initially missed having a kettle in the room, however the staff were more than happy to provide coffee and tea to take up to the room
I liked the room, the view to the main square. The room was quiet even though theere were a lot of people enjoying the night. Breakfast was very good. The staff was very kind and helpful.
I did'nt like the entrance to the hotel, you have to climb a few stairs before reaching the elevator to the reception. The room was a little too small, but I knew that in advance so no big deal.
We had read some negative reviews regarding construction, access, noise, etc but we cannot confirm any of these negative comments. The rooms and all other areas of the hotel are very nicely renovated. Breakfast area is overlooking the square, in the breakfast area is lots of space to just sit and relax and look out to the square. Breakfast was excellent. We liked the coffee, pastries, joghurt, fruit, .... enough choice to enjoy. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We had a room to the back and it was quiet - but it was also off- season. The location is perfect - close to the metro station and everything in walking distance. Ask the staff for recommendation where to eat! We ate at two local restaurants where the food was delicious and the prices very affordable.
Did exceed our expectations.
A hidden gem in the heart of Lisbon! A traditional hotel with lovely features and architecture that deserves more than 3* rating. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and well appointed and we had a bottle of water every day. Breakfast was superb and the mimosas were a nice touch. We've stayed in various 3* and 4* hotels in the area, some better than others, but none we've really wanted to stay in again. Hotel Metropole will be our "go to' hotel next time we visit this beautiful city.
Lighting for applying makeup is not ideal but a very minor issue.
