Olissippo Castelo

Great location near the St George Castle. Walking distance to the city center. Rooms with nice outdoor balcony.

Only problem I had was the internet in the room was not very good. Could download basic files such as emails. Had to go to Lobby to get better internet.

Location was fabulous as was the view!! Staff was very professional & helpful & went above & beyond to help us navigate Lisboa. Breakfast yummy! Good suggestions on where to see Fados. Located right behind Sao Jorge castle! Restaurants & bars close by.

Ad said suite had a sleeping and a sitting area and that one of the 2 rooms had a terrace making us think either the sleep OR the sitting area had terrace. The room I had did not have a terrace. They have 2 suites and only 1 has terrace. Must pick terrace

Our room and stay at Olissippo Castle was fabulous. It is on a quiet street and is quite lovely. It was clean and comfortable, and we had a lovely view from the room. The breakfast was great too.

While the room was quite large it could have used more places to put things down and hang things up, there were only a few hangers in the huge closet, no place to open a suitcase except the bed, and no place to hang the towels in the bathroom. It could also have used a few more outlets.

Beautiful property

Hard for Bolt driver to find and pop up road blocks ALMOST required us to walk with luggage for several blocks.

Location was excellent. Staff was very courteous and facility was clean and well kept. Breakfast was excellent.

The room was very large, with a great view.

The room smelled pretty badly. It was musky and seemed like it had been smoked in.

We loved our stay at Olissippo Castelo! It was in an interesting and very picturesque part of Lisbon, within walking distance to so many restaurants and sites, including the castle. The view of the city out of our window was breathtaking! The staff was very kind and helpful and the breakfast was great! We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Property is dated, worn furniture/carpeting

This hotel was located in the private area around St. George Castle, near Alameda. It was a elegant hotel, but a little dated. We found the room with the balcony more than comfortable and the staff took great pride in all services they offered. The hotel and room was spotless, the breakfast was ample and good. The reception hosts offered us good and helpful tips for visiting in Lisbon, to include riding Tram 12 in lieu of the crowded 28 on the same route/line, and recommendation of a traditional Portuguese restaurant a short walk away. We felt safe and comfortable in the hotel and found it quiet and restful with an excellent view. We were fortunate to obtain one of their garaged parking places (only 2 spots) attached to the hotel otherwise, parking may have been a problem. We must recommend the restaurant closest to the hotel, Gosta do Castelo, as it is excellent!

Although we were given clear instructions of how to get into the private area, it was somewhat tedious for English speakers to use a call tower to the City Hall to provide a code for access. The streets are quite narrow with many pedestrians; it would be easier to arrive via taxi. The photos in the listing do make the rooms/balcony appear larger than they are, but we were not crowded.

Very good breakfast, clean, excellent staff

We loved everything about this property. The decor, the location and the Reception staff were very helpful and met all our needs. The Breakfast was tasty and well presented and the catering manager even provided my sister with a Breakfast Birthday Cake complete with Candles to celebrate her 80th Birthday.

We loved the quiet location of the hotel. The views were outstanding. The hotel staff were welcoming and very helpful. The breakfast was generous and served in a very cheerful uncrowded space. It was very convenient to the activities of the Alfama and we appreciated its proximity to the Metro to get everywhere else.

We were upgraded to a junior suite and had a spectacular view. Breakfast was adequate.

3 of the 4 staff members we interacted with were not friendly. Furnishings are dated. Safe is only provided for a 50 euro deposit in cash. Cabs cannot get to this property and you have to climb a very steep cobblestone hill to access the hotel. Not recommended for those who cannot make that walk with luggage. Staff monitored if you were a guest for the breakfast.
