Bairro Alto Hostel

We were sent an incorrect hotel code, we were not able to get into the hotel at all. We got there at 11pm but I thought with the door code this wouldn't be a problem and there was no indication that it would be on the site. We would like a refund.

Private room

Heater in the room didn't work very well so room was still extremely cold. Extra pillow that was provided did not come with a pillowcase, extra bedding was dirty and had numerous makeup/miscellaneous stains on it. No communal kitchenette either. Rooms are all very close together and the hallway is extremely narrow, makes for a quite awkward interaction having to share the bathrooms. For the price, it was fine to be able to have your own private room, but I think I would have preferred having a shared room with a better experience instead.

Just the location

Infrastructure is crumbling. Electric sockets don’t work, washroom lights don’t work. Place is not cleaned. No access to toilet paper or water or any other basic stuff. Also receptionist is for very limited hours so no option to ask any thing or contact anyone outside of their hours.

It was very difficult to find not a lot of signage and locals didn't even know the place was thereThere was two bars outside my window that went all night, loud and loud music

It’s was my first time in Portugal and this place makes me feel comfortable and makes me feels feeling like home. Space, room very clean and the location is so close with a lot of attractions.

Location was good, easy to access attractions

The hostel is across from a bar that is very noisy until late at night. The windows are fairly sound proof but I still needed earplugs. The reception is only available in the afternoon so you need to arrive at right time.

The mattress and the pillow were not comfortable. The stairs are made of wood and every time you went up, they made a noise. You could hear all the noise from other rooms.

Very well located and close to everything in the center. Space have the necessary and staff is amazing, specially Julia in the front desk and the cleaning lady that I couldn’t had her name.

Unfortunately my bed had a hole in the middle which make it very uncomfortable and i had back pain the home time. My floor neighbors were very noise and pretty dirty, disgusting people. The bathroom was always left super clean by the staff and less then a day they had it all messed up and dirty. Guys where using the ladies bathroom and it was very difficult for me as girl to feel confortable. I felt so bad for the cleaning team

Stairs kind of tight

It’s very noisy on the street and bedsheet wasn’t very clean, had some spots on it. Door was very tricky to lock from outside.

The location was quite good -- very central. It was easy to get around. The woman who worked there was very helpful. I really appreciated that she helped me carry my suitcase up the stairs. It was VERY close to public transport and that made it very convenient.

The walls are a bit thin, so sometimes I felt like I was not living alone. The TV is not a "real" TV. They don't have channels or regular service. You have to have your own Netflix account (or other accounts) to be able to use it.

In a fun neighborhood, yet very quiet. Reception was super responsive. Bathrooms were very clean, and I loved the bonus of a girls' bathroom on every floor. I’ll definitely visit again!

Amazing location in the heart of Lisbon, great sound proof windows, so it gets very silent during the night.

Bathroom outside the room only, broken hair dryer, no reception available, only online.
