Pousada Alfama

The hotel is in a fantastic location and the staff was absolutely lovely. Upon arrival, hotel employeeat the front desk offered me a shot of ginjha and a coffee. He said there would be 2 gifts waiting for me in the hotel room: pastel de natas & free minibar.

The location was outstanding. I thought that the breakfasts were excellent and the staff, in general, were very welcoming and accommodating.

My Room - 202 - was next to a storeroom and there was, subsequently, a lot of noise outside my door re the storeroom door opening and closing.

Staff were excellent. Clean and crisp environment.

Felt kind of cramped.

There is nothing I did not like.

Location is great. Staff is very nice. I notified on Gluten allergy when I came, every morning I received breakfast with gluten free bread, pasty and cake. Did not even need to ask they remembered me. Room is clean and nice.

The fact we couldn’t stay longer.

The room was very nicely remodeled and clean, while keeping the charm of the old building. We were fortunate to be randomly assigned a double sized room. Normally the rooms are quite small, but that doesn't matter since you will be outside most of the time. The location is PERFECT! There's a lovely courtyard overlooking a plaza where all the world of Lisbon goes by. There's a very cool mural/collage done by a Portuguese artivist in the courtyard that people come by to look at.

There is a fair amount of noise from the historic trams that go right by the hotel. Like the other places we stayed in Portugal, they did not provide washclothes. Nothing major.

The beds were very hard and pillows were not comfortable, so you woke up sore, but it was an amazing location and the hotel itself was gorgeous!

Breakfast was incredible (and is served until 11am, which this late sleeper appreciated!), staff was lovely, and the location was unbeatable. There was plenty of noise on the street but we didn’t hear a thing. Close to the castle and all the Alfama bars and restaurants. Would definitely book here again.

Everything about the Pousada was excellent. The room was quiet and comfortable. The bathroom and shower were great. Everyone was helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was such a delight! Location was great for getting to anything we wanted

Having stayed in one hotel in Porto, one in Duoro Valley, one in Lisbon other than Pousada Alfama during our vacation, I have to say that the staff at Pousada Alfalma went above and beyond by making us feel welcomed in their hotel. After a long day of travel back into Lisbon, we were greeted late at night by the most welcoming and friendly front desk agent. Our room was quite small, but lovely decorated and clean. We appreciated the fully stocked fridge with beverages and you cannot beat the location. We will stay here again on our next stay!!

Comfortable room, good shower, good breakfast with gluten free options.

The hotel is very well located however, it is in a very busy, noisy touristy area. So, as soon as you walk out of the hotel you are bombarded with traffic noise, Tuk-tuks, skate boarders, and tons of tourists. We booked a balcony room, but the balcony was nothing more than a small enclosed space with no view and mosquitoes, so not worth it.

Breakfast was excellent. good variety and quality for the size of the hotel. Room was nice with the small balcony. Front courtyard small, but very cosy.

The staff was gracious and helpful. The property was well situated in the heart of things, wonderful coffee available 24 hours a day, a lovely breakfast, fresh beverages available in the afternoons. The property was lovely, the views were wonderful.

The location and staff were wonderful but the room was so hot.

When we used the ac, it took over 15 hours to feel a difference and then the room would start to heat up again.
