Cons -
- Rooftop was closed the day we arrived. The room was too small. The shower leaked onto the floor. There was no hot water in the morning. There was no Kleenex or bottled water to drink. To buy water 4 little bottles were 14¿. Fire alarm during the night.
- While it was nice to have so many windows, my room was pretty small
- Room was very small and far too hot, we couldn't regulate the temperature so slept with the window open. Bathroom was very small and shower was not very well ventilated.

Room was very small and far too hot, we couldn't regulate the temperature so slept with the window open. Bathroom was very small and shower was not very well ventilated.
Room was nice, clean and comfy.
Staff was rude. Requested a cappuccino, that I would pay for, in the morning before I was heading out on 8/18/25 and the person at the front just ignored me. Then 20 minutes later said that her co worker would make it but by that time my taxi had arrived. No one said hello to me the whole time I was there. Everyone looked miserable. Staff just ignores you once you have checked in. I asked for a steamer or iron and the only one they had was broken. The day receptionist stated she would find another one and never came back. After a 45 min wait I ask the housekeepers for the steamer and they were nice enough and brought it to me. I am doing a 40 day tour of Europe and this is by far the worst place I have stayed.
Cool decor, very clean, exceptionally comfortable and lovely staff. We were given an upgrade to King rooms which had a great view of the avenue. The rooms were so comfortable and clean with great facilities. The bed was very comfy, one of the best sleeps I've ever had in a hotel. Touches like an umbrella, proper hairdryer and huge full length mirror really make a difference and the shower was fantastic- huge with bith rainfall head and a low down separate attachment if you want to keep your hair dry. Great location: within a short walking distance there are a few restaurants, cafes, supermarkets a lovely cocktail bar and a metro station. The bar in the hotel was also fantastic. It's a short drive from Lisbon main centre, which cost less than €5 in an uber or €7 in a local taxi. Would definitely stay again.
Can't fault it.
location close to barrio alto. 20 min walk from chiado. clean rooms and always fresh towels and other stuff if needed. breakfast ok for price.
seems like its a 24/7 party. always music. even at breakfast. not a place you book to combine city with relaxing as well. missing some common areas that’s not a bar.
Atmosphere, comfortabel rooms with comfortabel bed, good location and good, friendly service
A boutique hotel, great staff, great food, great rooms.
No tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.
I think the room should have coffee French men want coffee! Otherwise very good and low noise for a main road.
Male Reception staff lacked motivation we thought they were lifeless. Ladies were fabulous.
Location is close from a lot of tour pickup points. There are some restaurants nearby at walking distance. The staff was amazing, they gave me good restaurants recommendations for vegetarian food which they had tried themselves, so that was worth gold. The breakfast was average. The rooms/bathrooms were tidy and the lighting was great. The HVAC is not centralized, so you can set temperature for the room.
Hot chocolate was pre-made in a container and was miserable. During breakfast, they seem to be understaffed as you will see empty containers or coffee machine trays not being cleaned frequently enough.
I love Mama Shelter hotels because the decor is not boring and bland! The staff are really helpful and friendly. Great breakfast and a very comfortable bed.It is an easy walk from two different metro lines so very easy to get around .
The roof Terrace was shut – but I suppose it’s my fault for coming so close to winter.
The room was very nice, the bed extremely comfortable, and the breakfast was really good.
I was really looking forward to this stay because my experience at Mama Shelter Belgrade was fantastic, but unfortunately this location fell far short. The staff was unfriendly. When my friend arrived, they couldn’t find his reservation and told him he had no room. Only later did they discover that the reservation did exist, yet no one offered an apology. Checkout was also disorganized, with very few staff at the desk and a long queue. We were told the invoice would be emailed, but it never arrived, so now we have to contact them ourselves. Also, staff in the corridors should at least say hello :) I hope the management reads this feedback, because the experience didn’t match the brand’s usual standard.
Location, style, rooftop and parties
Room was too basic for the price as far as toiletries (they had one bottle as shampoo, body and conditioner), missing proper drinking glasses
Lively atmosphere. Nice restaurant and rooftop bar. Accessible to shopping areas and restaurants. Balcony in room was nice to have! Grocery across the street.
Good location. Lovely rooftop bar where the staff were friendly and helpful.
A few of the reception staff were particularly unfriendly and unhelpful. As these are the first people you encounter it doesn't give you a good feeling.
Location was great, hotel was lovely, great rooftop terrace and view
Some of the staff were not very attentive or pleasant to deal with. It felt like they were tired of answering questions or having to deal with a request like getting some water or a coffee. Also the roof terrace, one of the selling points wasn’t even open during the whole day for guests to sit at, read a book, have a coffee etc. No iron or kettle in the rooms either.
Mama Shelter Lisboa is a fun and stylish place to stay in Lisbon. The rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable, with quirky design touches that make the experience memorable. The staff are friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The location is excellent—close to restaurants, nightlife, and major attractions—and just a 15-minute taxi ride from the airport, making it very convenient for travelers. A great choice for anyone looking for a lively and unique stay in Lisbon.
There’s limited space for luggage and movement, which can feel a bit cramped, especially if you’re staying for multiple nights or have a lot of belongings.
It's the best vibe ever! The staff is very friendly compared to other places we've been in Lisbon. The food and the rooftop are a big bonus! We'll definitely recommend this hotel to our friends.
The room is designed but a bit small. But it does the job for 3 nights. Good shower!
Nice property in a good location with fun food and beverage options.
The masks in the room were weird!
LocationFun feeling Check in was seamless
Smell of the room was damp upon walking in- smelt like mouldRoom was extremely tiny- not good value at all.Only 1 small bottle of water left in the fridge for us on arrival.
