Hotel do Chiado

The staff, the location, the letter on the room, and having someone accompanying us to room on the first day and explaining about the hotel.

There was not recycling program, and there was no lactose-free products on the breakfast.

They put me in a room facing the street. The view was beautiful, but there was a lot of noise until late at night. The room was also next to the restaurant where breakfast is served, so there was even more noise in the morning while they were setting up. In the end, I didn’t sleep at all. If I return in the future, I’ll definitely request a room that doesn’t face the street and isn’t close to the restaurant or kitchen.

Excellent location. They knew it was our anniversary and upgraded our room. Excellent hospitality across the board and a super central location, perfect for a quick stop over to tour the city

Nothing - we drove and the streets are tiny but that’s nothing to do with the property.

We loved almost everything. It was the perfect start to our long vacation and the bad part of our trip was that after this stay, the other hotel did not meet our expectations, I kept thinking of the room, staff, and location of your hotel wishing that we had the same quality in our other hotel.

Location could not be better. Rooms were immaculately clean and comfortably large. The rooftop bar/restaurtant and deck has great views. Staff was wonderful.

Unbeatable location in the heart of Chiado. Staff were friendly and attentive. We were greeted with a personal note and traditional Portuguese egg tarts, and were invited to the rooftop bar for a complementary welcome cocktail.

Location, location. Right in the center of Chiado. Steps from shopping and restaurants and access to the metro station. The location cannot be beat. The soundproofing is fantastic, so zero issues with noise. It allows for easy access to Barrio Alto, the commerce plaza and the Alfama district. The rooftop terrace is nice, with superb views of the city. Great for an evening of drinks and views. The staff is welcoming and kind.

The hotel is comfortable and had great space but our room on the 7th floor was outdated. The dark/black carpet looked stained. Furniture is minimal and bathroom lacks counter space. AC wasn't very cold, so this could be an issue to some in Summer. It's a perfect location, which could cause someone to overlook the details, but it could use a face-lift at this point.

The complimentary ride from airport was nonexistent. They will wait for 20 min from time plane lands….but it takes a lot more than that to get luggage and go through passport control and walk to meeting point. So no ride.

The level of service form the staff at Hotel do Chiado is exceptional and we would most definitely stay there again. The facilities are nice and clean as well and the rooftop has great views over old town and the river.

Great location in Chiado for walking to many tourist attractions and nearby restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised to get an upgrade for our room and received nice personal touches like a handwritten welcome note, pasteis de nata treats, a welcome drink for the roof top terrace. Thomas at the front desk offered helpful suggestions for a walking short cut to St. George's Castle. Joelba personally guided us to our room and David greeted us every morning at breakfast. Our room was clean and spacious with nice bathroom amenities. Nice breakfast options were available.

We would have liked to have breakfast start earlier than 7:30 a.m. since we needed to get an early start on a couple days.

Fabulous staff and amazing rooftop bar. Sujan at the bar was top notch, and the young man at breakfast was just wonderful. Front desk personnel were professional and very kind.

Everything! Truly amazing experience. From our upgraded suite to the rooftop bar to the excellent customer service. Sooo good. We are now spoiled in where we stay in Europe!
