Clean, friendly staff, good security. Nice room. Well maintained and very comfortable. Good shower as well.

More disposable dishwashing materials and more shower gel and shampoo but this is minor, you just have to ask!

It was a nice stay at Residence 1898, the Hotel is located in the center, a 15 mins walk from the Central Train Station and the Palace of culture and science or 2 min walk from the tram station which can get you there in just 3 mins.The room is spacious and got everything you need, from a nice big kitchen together with a big living room, nice big comfy bed and also a really nice big bathroom, it was a lot of space for one person and probably even 2. The staff were nice and helpful and there's also a laundry room which was useful.

With all of that I'm giving a score of 7 because of a few reasons, as some other reviews mentioned - 1. There's a serious sewerage smell coming from the bathroom which was unbearable, and 2. My room was connected to another room by a quite thin locked door so at times i could hear loudly what was going on at the next room.Another thing was the really slow Elevator, waiting for the elevator and then going down/up from the 5 floor when you are on a hurry was sometime not so nice.If those stuff are getting care of sometime in the future, it's definitely can be a 10/10 hotel, but as of now from my experience the score im giving is 7/10.

Lots of road noise at night. Definitely an old hotel. Expensive for what you get.

Overall, everything is a bit worn out - the furniture and floors have scratches, there is buildup on the shower walls and around the faucets in both shower and bathtub, the drying rack for the tableware was greasy.There are no easily accessible power outlets in convenient places.I really disliked the fact that there is a door (locked, of course, but still) to another apartment. I could hear everything that happened in there...

the rooms were spacious and the place was very clean.

Our apartment just had a bad smell upon entering but this was mentioned already to staff upon check out so hopefully this can be remedied as place is really nice.

Service was excellent.

Television was very limited. Did not have Netflix.Shower room had no place to put soap or shampoo.

It was close to the center. There are some restaurants and cafes and supermarket nearby so it was very convenient.

Perfect location 10 minute walk or a short tram ride to central station. Beautiful room. Very helpful staff. Fantastic free washing machine and dryer which is brilliant for travelling. Very comfortable. I can’t wait to stay again!

A little hard to find the entrance it is round the back of the 1898 building and not well signposted.

Despite the very central location very calm and sizeable rooms. The Hotel is in walking distance to all central hotspots. Also, good transport connections around.

Spacious, clean, 24 reception, great location

My only criticism is the pillows were too soft.. it was as if I didn’t have one! ( I got the spare from the wardrobe but it made no difference! )

One complaint. The construction of the hotel allowed me to plainly hear the movements in the room above mine. If I stay here again,AI would ask for a top floor room

Great bed, bathtub + shower. Spacious and well located. Friendly & helpful staff. Unlimited coffee & tea at the reception.

Compared to 4 years ago, the cleanliness declined. The carpet & coach contain stains, dust was not removed properly, the bathtub didn't have a stop in order to fill it, the movable walls of the bedroom could use a rinse.

We loved the location of the hotel with its proximity to the tram and bus lines and many restaurants and cafes. The room - or perhaps more of an apartment - and bathroom were spacious, very comfortable and had all the amenities needed for a short stay. We loved having a small kitchen, huge sofa, TV and a very comfortable bed. The internet/wifi was excellent and the bonus, free parking very much appreciated. Staff were especially welcoming and helpful.
