The Mercure Wien City is a centrally located hotel with a modern ambiance, only a few steps away from the historical city center and the nearest underground station. Guests can relax after a busy day in the city on the hotel's terrace. The modern and comfortable rooms are all air-conditioned. Hotel Mercure Wien City features a parking garage (at an additional cost) and a 24-hour bar, which serves coffee as well as fine wines. Sights like St. Stephen's Cathedral, the State Opera, the Hofburg (Imperial Palace) and the Hundertwasser House, as well as the famous Kärntnerstraße shopping street, are within walking distance. The U2 underground line takes you directly to the Reed Messe exhibition center. The Austria Center can be reached with the U1 underground line.

- Staff was very accommodating and friendly, and all of our requests were resolved quickly. Rooms were modern and nice. One of the best hotel experiences we had in the five cities we stayed in during our trip!
- A complimentary guide-led walking tour was included as part of our stay - an unexpected bonus.

Cons -
- Did not deserve rating (rate 4, at best 2+) and was not in Center as advertised! Was across the river and no where near the 1st district. Felt like you misrepresented the place and for the 2nd time now, I have been burned. Not likely to be back.
- The location was a little far from the Vienna City Center. It's about a 15 to 20 minute walk and it was very hot during the two days that we stayed overnight. Other than that, I would rate this hotel a ***+ star hotel--not a four **** star hotel.
- Parking was pricey at $22/night, no breakfast.
