The family-run Kursaal & Ausonia is an eco-friendly hotel a 5-minute walk from Fortezza da Basso, Florence's exhibition center. Rooms feature terracotta floors and at least 1 piece of antique furniture. Wi-Fi is free throughout. Kursaal & Ausonia is committed to helping the environment through recycling and using energy-saving light bulbs, ecological cleaning products, and low-impact air conditioning. Rooms at the Kursaal & Ausonia are classically decorated, and come equipped with satellite TV and air conditioning. Some rooms have a view of Florence's Cathedral and rooftops, and some also have a private balcony. Guests can relax at the in-house TV lounge and a bar, where drinks and snacks are served throughout the day. Firenze Santa Maria Novella Train Station is just over a quarter mile away and the historic center is a 15-minute walk from the hotel. Guests have discounts at a garage nearby.

Cons -
- There was black mold in the shower but everything else was clean. Room was smaller than anticipated.
- Room too small
- rude and aggressive staff.They didn't replace the towel that fell on the floor on the first day, stating that towels are only changed every two days. Since we stayed only two nights, the towel was never replaced. Additionally, the sheets had blood stains.
