Hotel Triton

Beautiful room. Comfy bed. Great shower.Breakfast was great with scrambled eggs, coffee, orange juice.

The lights on the bedside table didn't work.

Overall, stay was fine. Very small room, but as advertised. Comfortable bed.

Signage on arrival is confusing as there is no Hotel Triton but Triquetta instead. TV programming also confusing as channels really start only at 300+ (as I found out by accident on my last day). Tiny sink.My main criticism, however, is re/ undisclosed charges for Cologne's Tourist Tax for non-business visitors (5%; introduced in 2014). Both confirmations from booking.com and the hotel (which I reviewed on the spot first with the clerk and then the hotel manager several times) showed a price including all charges/extras and taxes with no reference to the Tourist Tax. Instead, one day before my arrival and 2 days after the free cancellation period had expired I received an e-mail from the hotel stating that a surcharge of 5% is to be paid. When I refused to do so the manager was called and referred to their T&Cs (AGBs) and declared that it was my responsibility to review these and to be generally aware of local requirements. My recommendation to rather update their confirmation form and to sort this out with booking.com was responded to that this has nothing to do with them as the agreement is between booking.com and the customer (fancy that!)... Needless to say that I didn't pay the extra charge and that I have no desire to return.

Hotel staff were amazing and friendly. The room I had was a double room and was nice but had no fridge (my two friends in the single rooms had fridges) the beds were very soft but was fine. The air con wasn't working and when I brought it up with reception I was told they were sorry that it wasn't working but it never got fixed. So really apart from thr AC I had a really nice stay here and I would recommend it.

Check in needs improvement for late arrivalswe arrived about 1am, we were instructed to contact the day before for the night door code, we did but got no reply. had to ring the contact number three times to be able to get in and collect our keys from the hall way

Small Room. They don’t have other services like telephone, food variation, Tea or coffee as complements etc.

I was very thankful for the good air conditioner on the top floor as it was a very hot weekend!

I paid upfront which clearly stated all taxes are included, but I needed to pay additional tax at the hotel otherwise I would not get the room. So the prices which are shown and advertised are not correct and should not be used for comparison with other hotels in the neighbourhood.

The hotel has a good location, it is within 20 mins from the main train station (with S-Bahn). The staff is really helpful and kind. The hotel has a nice restaurant and there is a possibility to have breakfeast.My room was small but clean, it was perfect for me as I travelled alone.

The location was okay, not too far from the centre and easily reachable with public transport. The room was very clean, bathroom too. The beds were comfortable and the staff was very nice.

The place was very clean and well-sanitized. It was kept up to health standards and the staff was not only super polite but also very helpful. I had to cut my trip short due to a family emergency and the staff was understanding and I hope they can compensate me for the other half of the trip which I wasn't able to complete. Or provide a voucher for another time i visit

Very clean, good location of Hotel, opposite of a tram station . Very helpful and friendly staff. Rooms on top floor a bit small and because of the roof you get into your bed like into a racing car :) but very clean tidy and comfy.

Staff stole my 300 euro headset from my room. I called them to ask whether they had found it and got a very weird story during the week. This was made worse by the fact that the hotel was very unresponsive, often stating they would call me back the same day, but never calling back or responding by email. Only after repetitive tries from my side, they said they had found it. However, while they first said that they had found it, when I came back to the hotel, they then stated they had not found it. The lady at the desk changed the story to say that they had found something else. When I asked them what they found, she went upstairs and changed the story again. She then said that what they actually found belonged to another room, but not my room. When I asked to see the lost and found box the woman just showed me an empty box and was like 'see we found nothing'. I was then assured that they would investigate the video cameras and call me back the same day. Of course they never called back. I tried contacting them again through the booking messaging system, and by calling again, but was now just ignored. I would have expected a little bit more decency from a place like this, so I definitely do not recommend staying here.
