Hotel Merian

Just the water bottle included didn’t have still Wasser or we can’t change it. Some people doesn’t drink water with Kohlensäure so I would suggest to have some options.

Almost perfect for the value, cozy, 5mn walk away from the station, friendly staff, well heated.

No additional blanket or pillow, but that is very minor.

cleaniliness, staff behaviour , small small things like - 3 towels, mineral water bottle, electric kettle, spacious - good enought to put lots of stuff in room

Clean hotel very well located for our planned agenda around the Dom

Noise from hallway and other rooms was noticeable, which didn't bother us but might bother others.

The large bed was comfortable.

It felt like 1985. A real key. The room was very odd, and our kids basically had two cots to sleep on with very thin mattresses. The toilet didn’t flush well at all.

The receptionist that accommodated us on Thursday morning was so helpful! The great news is we were able to check in as early as we arrived before 12nn

Location is why we picked the property. It’s walkable from the train station.

It’s kind of dark going there by foot with lots of homeless people along the way.

Breakfast was simple but good. The hotel is walking distance from the Dom and to the Edelstein district, so nice turkish restaurant and some shopping for food.

It is my 2nd stay at the hotel, and the wifi in the 2 rooms I did stay were either weak or absent and most of the time unreliable. So if you don't need the wifi the hotel is simple and pleasant,

Not too far from central station. Luggage storage after check out is available. Big room.

Small elevator, only fit for 1 person with luggage. Elevator was old but still functioning.

Easy walk from the train station, and the fan helped with cooling the room down.

Very small elevator (old building, so surprised they had one!) and not many amenities.

Super good location

The room I was assigned was very, very noisy. The window was broken, so I could hear all the noise outside. And I could hear everyone talking in the hallway. I couldn't sleep, and towels had an unpleasant smell

Clean, well-located, helpful staff. It had exactly what we needed.

Though the room was not big, it was enough for us to keep our luggage open.

The mini fridge was dissipating hot air like a heater, we had to ask for it to be unplugged.

Best stay I've had in Cologne, they checked me in early and I could do a one hour late checkout free of charge, staff is wonderful. Will only stay here in the future. Location and services for the price are fantastic

Very near to Cologne central station, about 5 mins walk. There are attractions and lots of cafes and restaurants near and within central station. The hotel is clean and comfortable although it is old. The hotel provides free luggage locker service.

The bathroom sewage choke when having shower. Need to do some maintenance.

I got a little bit lost when I got to Cologne (went out the wrong exit ?). I eventually got to the Hotel, checked in and I had a quick freshen up before heading out. The receptionist was ok and professional in her work.

Single room was small but clean and certainly adequate for a short stay.Staff were friendly, helpful and polite.Buffet breakfast was plentiful and worth the money.Good location.

The Merian hotel is located very close to the central station of Cologne and every major attraction is in a walking distance from it. The room was quite comfortable.

The cleaning service could be improved. Our room wasn’t vacuumed at all during our stay. Replacing the windows with soundproof ones would reduce the noise from the busy road. The cattle was also not very clean, so we avoided using it to boil water for tea.
