    • Great staff! Staff was very friendly and helpful! The manager Thomas was very kind and accommodating. We had booked a quadruple room for one night for a sister’s getaway, two of us decided to extend our stay an extra night to use the Therme and booked massages. It was very relaxing and a great decision, given that we had done a lot of sight seeing and wanted to relax. We also really enjoyed the rooftop bar area with fantastic views. The proximity to the sights was also important to us and it definitely met our expectations!

    Cons -

    • We had booked the hotel with the pool for the kids. Turns out, it’s mostly a nude facility. So kids weren’t accepted. They charged for access to the pool. We stayed in the Annex side of the hotel, separate from the main entrance to the hotel. Not ideal.
    • We were in room 406, the shower area leaks through the entire bathroom. It was too small for my husband (185 cm) too. I was able to use the shower without it leaking by detaching the shower head from the holder and aim with it exactly where I need the water. There was also a sewer stench coming from the shower drain. We arrived midnight, and have already settled in the room and discovered about the stench when we showered the next day. As we are checking out the next day.. we did not ask to be transfered to another room, if we are staying longer for sure we would ask to be transferred. Another misconception was about the parking, we were under the impression that the hotel have its own parking - in the middle of the night Hubs had to go to nearest parking area and walk back to the hotel - leaving me on charge with 2 very tired and sleepy kids. The hotel only have 10 parking spaces available in front and its not free - we paid 25 euros when a spot became available on our last day. We were not able to use the wellness facilities due to nudist guests. I hope the hotel could block specific times allowing family with kids who are not comfortable around naked strangers to use the facility as well.

There was not any aspect ofThe hotel that we liked

I disliked the fact that our room was not in the hotel and we had to walk down dark streets toGet to Our room. We arrived late at night and had got a taxi to the hotel door but we then had to walk down two streets at close to midnight to get to our room. When we got to our room it was nothing like what was advertised and had a very steep stairs in the room. The room advertised was a beautiful room and nothing like what we received. We had a short trip in cologne and were offered a room change the following day but that would not be facilitated until midday which was going to destroy our only full day in cologne. We would never stay in the hotel again.

This hotel was pretty cheap when I booked it. It was in a pretty good area with lots of shops 10 minutes walk away. Excellent transport is very close. There was a pretty good spa area that was €10 per day and you can hire a bathrobe, slippers and a sauna towel which wasn't that much money..

The bathroom was on the small size and smelled a little. The bed was comfy but I found the pillow too high. There were no coffee or tea making facilities and no iron and ironing board but they could be ordered. If you are a bit shy the Therme/spa area is no good for you.

The staff demonstrated exceptional friendliness and attentiveness, contributing to a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Service from both the waiting staff and the bar was efficient and courteous. We ordered a late night meal, which was well prepared, flavorful, and visually appealing.

Unfortunately, several aspects of our stay were less than satisfactory. The pillows were uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a proper night’s sleep. The rooms were not well soundproofed; we could hear footsteps from the room above, conversations and doors opening in the hallway, and even noise from the street late at night, which disturbed our rest around 2 a.m. In addition, certain facilities such as the spa required an extra fee, which was not clearly communicated in the advertisements. Parking also incurred an additional charge, and it would have been appreciated if this had been included in the booking price or made clearer beforehand.

I loved the staff. They were professional and attentive! I enjoyed paying for a massage service on-site. I had a great 90-minute session. I loved the location of the hotel to the main area of Cologne. The room was luxurious!

The room was a great size and it was clean. The rooftop deck was also nice.

The offsite parking was terrible and not mentioned in advance. We were not informed that the pool area was fully naked and co-Ed. We did not take our teenage girls into the pool as they were uncomfortable. The lady that checked us in at night was super rude and unhelpful. We felt like we were bothering her which was a disappointing start to our stay. The rest of the staff was great and very friendly and helpful.

The spa was a nice touch albeit not very comfortable with being completely naked in one with my 13 year old daughter so we didn't stay too long. The hotel was in a perfect location.

The staff in the restaurant that is by the spa were so unhelpful and just could not be bothered to serve us. Went in for some food and was told they were not serving food even though all the menus were out on table and bar.

The saunas are wonderful, great variety, and the whole spa area is very relaxing, clean, and spacious. The location is also excellent and, the hotel is very accessible via train, which we loved. Cool area, too, with a great Vietnamese restaurant nearby.

Maybe don't go to the spa area alone late at night if you are a woman...my wife was followed into a sauna by a man who offered unwelcome compliments on her body. This, after she witnessed a couple being...intimate...in the pool. There is a whole list of rules and signs posted all over, but inevitably some will ignore them. We were both much happier with the vibes during the day, and very happy with the variety of saunas, and the pools! We'll be back.

The spa part of the hotel was excellent. Great conditions. I do think it should be made clear to non-germans that there is no “swimming pool” as in a rectangle to get a good swimming workout in. Booking.com says it has a pool

The hotel was extremely dated. I had no bed sheet just a duvet. No swimming pool to workout in.

    10LewisPosted on: 3-13-2025

The location was great with easy access to the main attractions and eateries. The room was perfect for us, clean and quiet. The spa was amazing and not overly busy. Most visitors were naked and we were both comfortable with that and confident to go with the local culture as it felt completely natural. Highly recommend the Aufguss sessions. We both came away feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated. Would definitely go back there.

A kettle in the room or available to hire at reception would be handy. However we couldn’t fault this hotel spa at all really.

Nice hotel with spa facilities. Close to public transport. Own parking (though with challenging drive in).

It was very hot in the hotel (due to the spa facilities) even in the bar area and restaurant.

The staffs were very nice and accommodating, they communicated with me very well and they were patient and helpful. I definitely revisit this place

I like everything about the hotel. No negative comments.

I booked this room because i like the thermal spa sauna. I have been going for years. It used to be a lot better but it is still ok.

I DID NOT LIKE BEING TOLD I HAVE TO PAY AN EXTRA TEN EURO TO USE THE SPA AS NOBODY WOULD USE THE HOTEL WITHOUT USING THE SPA. THEY SAID IT IS CLEAR ON BOOKING .COM THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY EXTRA TO USE THE SPA. I LOOKED AND I COULD NOT FIND IT MENTIONED SO IF THEY DO NOT WANT TO MAKE YOU FEEL BAD WHEN YOU ARRIVE AND TRY AND CHARGE YOU EXTRA IT IS TIME TO MAKE IT CLEAR IN LARGE WRITING IN THEIR ADVERTISING. (Nobody would book a thermal spa hotel without using the spa) THEY ALSO CHARGE EXTRA FOR AN ESSENTIAL TOWEL.IT IS ALSO THE ONLY HOTEL I HAVE EVER BEEN TO WHERE THEY CHARGE YOU 2.30 FOR A SMALL BOTTLE OF DRINKING WATER. (All hotels give you a bottle of water where i have stayed) I ASKED FOR TAP WATER TO DRINK AND THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME FOR THAT TOO. I ASKED AT BAR AND RECEPTION.IN THE ROOM IT IS VERY BASIC. ANOTHER FIRST IS NO KETTLE IN THE ROOM.THE PILLOWS ON THE BED WERE SO WORN OUT THAT THEY HAD NO SUPPORT. AFTER STAYING ONE NIGHT I ASKED IF I COULD HAVE THE TOP FLOOR AS ON FLOOR 2 ALL I HEARD ALL NIGHT WAS FOOT STEPS. SO IMPOSSIBLE TO SLEEP. THE MANAGER SAID HE WOULD GIVE ME THE TOP FLOOR ON THE NEXT VISIT BUT ALL I GOT WAS FLOOR 3 AND I HEARD FOOT STEPS All NIGHT AGAIN.

The spa and saunas are really great.

My advice is not to stay at this hotel, but to stay somewhere else and just visit the saunas at this hotel. They indicated on the phone that parking was free, then when we arrived told us it would be 25 euros per day, but when we checked out we paid 28 euros per day. We even had to pay for our towels and bathrobes. When we entered our hotel room, it was frigid cold with the windows open (in February). The hotel cannot even provide a water boiler for tea or coffee in the morning. Overall, our experience of the hotel was bad: every time we interacted with the staff, they told us that we had to pay for more things that are normally provided free at hotels. The room itself was fine, although the bathroom floor flooded constantly because the shower is poorly designed. All that said, the spa center is great. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again, but I would visit the spa for a day.
