    Pros +

    • The hotel is decorated with original art! Number 12 is a large, luxurious and well-appointed suite, one floor above the ground floor. It has a big, comfortable bed; so many windows; a cute little balcony; a huge bathtub in one bathroom and a separate shower in another one, where the toilet is (sinks in both); a table that could seat eight; and a couch/sofa bed. There's a stocked bar-fridge, an electric kettle and a coffee-maker. All the windows open, which is great; and personally, we found the windows when closed were very good at blocking the sound of the revellers on the café patio in the evenings. It was way more hotel room than we needed, but we wanted to stay at the Chelsea again, and that week, #12 was the only unit free -- a nice treat!
    • Comfy bed. Fridge in room. Nice furnishings.Good neighborhood. Did not feel touristy.
    • If you are there for the UA passport, the hotel is more than perfect :) But if you are not, the location is also totally fine.

    Cons -

    • It was very cold. Radiator supplied to help heat the room. Using radiator creates very dry air.Did not like shared bath because hallways were drafty. It is an unusually cold winter.
    • Breakfast. Unfortunately, too poor, and it could be much much better.
    • Communal bathroom

    Good location , clean rooms

The location is perfect, close to university and city center. the bed was really confortable and the curtain darkened properly the room.

The second night I had trouble sleeping because of the noise from the neighboring room in the middle of the night. Internet was pretty slow.

The bathroom although shared was very clean and nice. There was a nice grocery store right across the street.

It was too far for walking downtown and my room was tiny, the room overlooked the back of the building. Not really their fault but it was rather expensive for the room to be so tiny with a twin bed…. Still I guess because it’s köln

The loft with patio is great

Parking is a bear in Koln park outside and street car in. There is a station nearby 2 blocks.

Stylish hotel in a trendy part of town. Supermarket right across the street.

small suite was an exercise in sparseness. Downstairs space presented two plastic chairs, no sofa/sofabed, no curtains - just blinds. Electrical systems a perpetual mystery, and bathroom down on the first floor, bed up on the second. I told the front desk I was lightly disabled, but no option presented for a single-level room.

The room was very clean and stuff was very helpful

It wasn't close to the big church in town

    Great location.

Room was very small. Bathroom was shared and smelled. Staff were okay. Restaurant and bar was not open in the evening.

Nice comfy bed and quiet room. The shared balcony was nice and quiet, too .A parking space was arranged for me thanks to a last-minute cancellation, which I appreciate, as narrow as it was - my car was parked safely in a gated court very nearby.

The living/sitting area was rather small, but the bedroom upstairs was nice and roomy. The choice at breakfast was underwhelming, but it was offered to me for free when I mentioned it at check-out, which I also appreciate.

Very comfortable and clean room. Firm mattress. Spacious bathroom. Great location in walking distance to grocery store, cafés, restaurants, public transportation. Friendly staff at the front desk.

    Nothing to mention

The individuality of the space and the central location, the restaurant and the friendly staff

The central location was also a little lively and noisy on weekend nights. This ended around midnight and wasn't too bad, but might bother some.

We stayed in the cube (room 54) which was really unique and had great views. We enjoyed the balcony. The staff was also extremely helpful. I rented a bike from them a few times which was simpler than going to a shop. They also helped my group get a taxi to the train station. The location is fantastic, very cool neighborhood with lots of cafes and bars.

The cube has its downsides - mainly light and heat coming in. There are custom curtains but in the summer it still gets light early. It was quite warm while we were there and the mini split AC can only do so much. But airing out the room in the evening with the windows open helped - we were still able to sleep well. Just don’t expect to spend all day in the room comfortably in the summer.

The staff was very kind. Late check out available, later than other hotels too. Great location! Room very clean too, with sink and miroir. Shared bathroom exceptionally clean!

Maybe just add a spare blanket in winter.

Top location, friendly personal, cleanliness, comfort bathroom and bed

Too much heating, window should be kept open in night

    8KondrashovPosted on: 1-6-2025

The best thing was the location - 20 meters to the UA passport service (so needed for me), and the reception was super helpful and friendly. The room? It was ok, totally fine for 3 people. Coffee pads in the room were great plus. And the bath - definitely a plus.

The only thing that was a huge minus - breakfast. When I made my booking it said ''very good breakfast''. When I moived in, I was told that the kitchen did not work, but there will be breakfast. Well, it was literally one man (another one came later) cooking for everyone. Luckily there were only 5 of us so we waited only (only) 20min. But, even though being tasteful, the breakfast was rather poor - 3 types of small bread, 3 types of eggs (either boiled, scrambled or fried), cheese or ham and fruit salad. That was the breakfast that costs 16 EUR. I believe it should have been notified in advance for the visitors...

This is a nice friendly hotel, well situated, with a very pleasant bar/cafe. Staff were always helpful

Our room didn't have USB ports, although our friends' did, but otherwise no issues at all

    8IrisPosted on: 12-1-2024

The location of the hotel is pretty good. The single room was surprisingly big i have to say, as well was the bed. There was a minibar in the room, enough space for the luggage.Check in and check out was quick and sufficient. The lady / gentleman at reception was very friendly and explained everything clear.

If u have a light sleep i would recommend ear plugs as the traffic could be heard.Unfortunately i was awaken by chairs and or tables beeing moved in the restaurant below. Had my room on the first floor.

Nice little hotel in a busy street of cologne. There was an issue with my booked room not being available for the first day, the staff apologised and offered me another room. I actually ended up liking this replacement room much more than the one I had originally booked and the staff said it would not be a problem if I just kept the replacement room for the week, which I did.For the inconvenience of the mishap they offered me free breakfast for the week, unfortunately I chose not to get up early enough any of the days to take advantage of the that so I can’t rate the breakfast. The staff are attentive and kind.

The WiFi was a bit slow as somebody from a country with high speed internet pretty much everywhere, but that is just a thing in Germany so not really the fault of the hotel.Although I did enjoy my room that was right on the corner of the street, it can get loud and bright in the mornings. Room could do with blackout blinds / curtains
