    Pros +

    • Location, room and view to the Rhine.
    • Great location across Rhein from the Dom. Beautiful panoramic view. The city center and train station are in 10min walk away. Delicious breakfast.
    • The cleanliness did not meet five-star expectations. Some glasses and cutlery were sticky and had visible fingerprints. The check-in experience was disappointing. Despite having stayed at Hyatts multiple times, including at the Hyatt Regency Cologne, there was no “warm welcome back.” I was also asked to pay for the room even though it had already been settled, which felt unprepared.A deposit of €100 per night was required. For a three-night stay, this amounted to €300. I understand a reasonable deposit for the overall stay (e.g., €100–150 total), but charging it per night felt excessive and is not something I have experienced at other luxury hotels. The deposit was not released immediately at check-out; I am still waiting several hours later. There were no kids’ amenities in the room, even though I was travelling with my 2.5-year-old and booked it with my toddler included providing her age in advance.

    Cons -

    • Room rate quite pricy.
    • The price is too high for the hotel's current condition. In my opinion, it needs renovation. It's also strange that there are always 4-5 families waiting for breakfast entry - it's a simple organization issue.
    • The concierge team was absolutely lovely and very kind.Room service was exceptional, thoughtful, attentive, and warm. The staff’s friendliness truly turned our experience around and made a positive difference to our stay.

Lovely big beds, great welcome from reception staffRoom was ready upon arrival so we could unpack and use the spa facilities and get the best massages in Europe. That was really appreciated. We love the Hyatt location for concerts abd the staff have always been fantastic.

Our shower smelt of bad drains upon arrival but it improved after running some waterThere should be 2 lots of hand towels so we could use the 2nd hand towel for our hair. The room needs better lightingThe view was rubbish but we were not impacted by thatThe air-conditioning is an issue! The rooms seem to heat up during night even if we set it to max cool!System needs evaluating.

Central location, welcoming staff, clean and spacious rooms and bathroom.

Rooms too warm for my liking, air conditioning not cool. No price list for mini bar.

location was great and the hotel amenities was top notch!

I tried to cancel one of the rooms prior to arriving, but was denied. I had a family member who was supposed to join our family, but he missed his flight due to circumstances out of his control. I was denied any refund of the room.

Great hotel with super rooms, a great location and breakfast. The hotel were excellent in catering for our dog and the pool.area was really nice.

Random card charges at night and without an explanation over a week later. I was there with my wife, 3 kids, my parents and dog, and received random 2am charges of hundreds of euros. Still requesting an explanation over a week later and the hotel.are asking if I might have randomly had a 200euro meal.at 2am. Really poor from such a hotel.

Location, just cross the bridge to get to the cathedral, the Glashaus restaurant, and abundant breakfast. Best Omelette. We were 19 guests in 9 rooms.

The last rooms were ready after 5pm. Check in time is 3pm.Probably due to the numerous rooms we had occupied. We patiently waited.

good for a family. Connecting rooms with a partial view on the river and Dom is a bit expensive. breakfast in the restaurant is really good. Staff is friendly.

did not provide toothbrushes or toothpaste. also not enough water per room

    9CadePosted on: 12-22-2025

Hotel location is pretty good. Great view of the city skyline with the cathedral and bridge. Easy to walk up the stairs and get across the bridge into the town. A little bit of a walk to get to the nearest train station and if you have a pram or wheelchair, it is not super convenient. Easy enough, just a longer route.

    overall pretty good.

    7MartinPosted on: 12-22-2025

It was our third time in this hotel and we love staying here.

Our room was not cleaned in 3 nights and the downstairs mens and womens toilets were unclean on one occasion.

    7Chia-TungPosted on: 12-20-2025

The breakfast and the location are excellent. Just walking pass the bridge and you’re in front of the Cathedral.

The peak season price makes it less worth than the actual value, not to mention our room doesn’t even face the river nor have any view. The pillow is not very comfortable for both me and my boyfriend.

    8VictoriaPosted on: 12-19-2025

The room was lovely overall. The location is my personal opinion is still the best with wonderful views and setting. All the staff are extremely welcoming and a shout out to one of the maids "Lara/Laura". Breakfast seemed to have less selection than previous says unfortunately, but still lovely.

The room was far too hot and no option to open window, so no air. Also bathroom no longer has toiletries in the bath, so if you wanted to wash your hair you would have to use the shower which for some of us isn't ideal.

    8RemiPosted on: 12-18-2025

They gave us a bottle of wine as an anniversary present. Location was 7min walk from train station.Staff very friendly! Nice gym but didn’t use the pool. Hotel is beautiful inside and out ! Free bottles of water for the room.

Breakfast was like £35 per person so I couldn’t imagine paying £210 for breakfast alone for a 3 night stay for two people.

    8DawnPosted on: 12-18-2025

Room was well equipped and spacious. Temperature control was good.Breakfast was good, very busy but good service and good choice with food always topped up

Breakfast tables where cramped and in areas of busy through people
