Pros +
- We had a wonderful stay. We were fortunate enough to get room 6, Josephine, and it was great. It is up few flights of stairs but definitely worth the effort. The room is clean, quiet and beautifully decorated. The bathroom is spacious, fully equipped with a shower, bathtub and sauna. The hosts were always available to promptly assist us with any questions. The hotel is located close to restaurants, the Cathedral and bars. Overall we had a very memorable stay and would definitely stay again when in Cologne.

- Clean. Quiet. Nice room.
Cons -
- Nothing to not like , only item that we have feedback on is the bath fills very slowly, may need looked at. This did not impact our stay though !
- The elevator/lift was “not working” and the person checking us in put us on the 3rd floor and didn’t tell us the lift was broken until after she handed us our room key! We had 4 large pieces of luggage and were wearing winter coats. I am 67 and in decent shape and traveling with my 36 year old daughter for the Christmas markets. It wasn’t until I expressed my displeasure that the person checking said, I guess we could help you with your bags. A coworker reluctantly offered to help but we declined. Not a great start to a two night stay. Had the elevator been working I may have given this place a 9 or 10
- It do not have elevator so in case of heavy bags, just to keep this in mind, depending on your room, you will need to carry them through stairs.

The location was great. Near the Cathedral, near restaurants and shops.

Overall a very nice and cozy hotel 10 minute walk from the very center of Cologne (about two blocks from the cathedral) and still in a very quiet area, right above the Appelhofplatz tram station. Easy entry with own code and a lovely interior design. Gives off vibes of kind of an AirBnB and Hotel mix.Additional things I liked:- The small drinks/amenities "counter/bar" on the first floor with water and coffee is a suuuper nice touch.- The hotel staff are very quick to respond by phone and/or via Whatsapp.
Since the hotel building itself is very small/narrow and doesn't have an elevator, the stairwell inside of it is small and narrow as well. I wasn't there with any massive luggage, but carrying a big and heavy bag up any further than the second floor would require significant hand/grip strength. There is some issue with air pressure/ventilation in the main stairwell of the building. During my stay I noticed that every time the building entrance is used the door of my room would make a loud noise as if adjusting to the pressure change in the stairwell. This is an issue when people use the main door middle of the night and I would wake up since the door is not far from the bed. There was no AC, which in itself is not bad, but staying during the summer may sometimes mean it gets quite hot inside. However the quiet location allows to keep the windows open without too much noise. Some of the rooms have the bathroom part of the same room which is not a big deal if you are staying alone, but if you are staying with another person there may be a case of too much information :)
Location!
Lack of shelving in the bathroom and sewage smell from sink when toilet is flushed and moldy shower curtain.
The bathroom area was very nice and the tub was big enough for a 6‘‘ lady
The only lack was the shower smelled like sewage which was a bit disgusting maybe pipes need cleaning
The rooms were very nicely decorated and comfortable. The beds were nice and the temperature was cool and comfortable.
No elevator, but it is to be expected in older European buildings.
Beautiful room, well appointed.Quite central for Cologne's cathedral and the old town.
Slightly strange having a curtain between bedroom and bathroom. No lift, so may be difficult for those with heavy cases.
Loved: location, price. Not loved: really small, need to open the window after using the toilet..Great hotel for just sleeping for lone travelers.Would not suggest it for a couple.
Owner Ashish is very warm and kind. He helped us carry our big luggage up the stairs. Room is spacious and clean. Very happy to enjoy nice cup of coffee at coffee counter outside the room (1st floor). Location very good. Walkable to main attractions (15-30mins) like cathedral, centraal station…Big supermarket a block away. Location is very quiet. Would stay again should we revisit Cologne. Would recommend. Thanks Ashish for the wonderful stay :)
Great little place not far from the old town and cathedral. Very cute room up in the attic, and the staff were amazing. Such a comfortable bed and quiet area at night.
We booked the studio for a separate bathroom and it was huge! Such a lovely space and really close location Didn’t have time to use the sauna but what a cool idea! One of the cheapest rooms at the time I booked so really can’t fault much at all!
Although it was a separate bathroom upstairs there’s still no door - just something to be aware of if you’re a bit uncomfortable with it The kettle was in need of a good clean so we didn’t use this It was quite loud during the night, police sirens and people throwing bikes down the subway at around 4am (not the hosts fault of course but just be aware if you’re wanting a good nights sleep)
Good location, nice restaurants close by.
Black mold in the bathroom- health hazard.
Decor, comfy pillows, loads of little touches (rituals toiletries)
An interestingly furnished room, quite inspiring in this regard, with its decoration, layout, and technical execution of many details. A nice backyard with a generally pleasant view. Very quiet, that cannot be repeated often enough. In fact, very convenient if you want to go shopping in Köln. Despite the synthetic filling of the duvet, the non-optimal pillows, and the sagging matrass we slept reasonably. We checked in easily and the stairs to room 3 was not an issue; we were aware and took only 1 small suitcase each of us 2.
The mattress is already worn out, which doesn't reflect the price and does not fit to the fact that the priority of a hotel is good sleeping. The folding table is sagging slightly. According to Google, the garage closes at 10 p.m., so we took the nearest one (also not far away), which closes at midnight and costs €20 for 24 hours. Unfortunately, the response to my comment via chat was incorrect. So, be sure to keep this in mind if you're checking in late, and also keep in mind that the prices only apply if you don't leave the car during the checkout (there's no collaboration with the hotel to offer a 24-hour ticket with unlimited in-and-out access). The tea bags weren't high-quality teas (scented fruit teas, etc.), and there was no coffee/creamer.The sink and the corresponding storage space are too small. I couldn't figure out how to close the plug for shaving (I'm an engineer). There's no separate bathroom. The heating is very weak, so we didn't get to 20°C in the morning (I need 21.5°C) – as far as I know, it couldn't be made any warmer. At the same time, the relative humidity was already at 75%, but at that temperature, it was impossible to think about ventilating (when we checked in at 10:30 p.m., the windows had been open since at least 3:00 p.m.). But you also don't want to have the extractor fan running constantly if you want to have breakfast in peace. The cleaning lady entered 11:00 a.m. which is not acceptable.I am from NRW and lived in Köln for about 2 years ca. 27ys ago. Unfortunately, the center of town is getting more and more filled with "so-called antisocials" and garbage.
The bad was very good
The bathroom doesn't have the door, so you have the WC in front of the bed. And the room was not clean at all. One of the towels was dirty when we got the room, as it is possible to see from the photo, then change it after one day. One of the mirror lights broke, and they didn't change at all for all our trip.
Perfect location, at the heart of the city, still super quiteAwesome concept, perfect service
Great location
Really bad smell in the room, likely mold. Got sick after the stay.
Clean room. Fluid communication. Easy checkin
Toilet within the room
