Very nice stay, spacious room, modern facilities, good breakfast

No parking nearby (not an issue for our stay, but something to be aware of before booking)

After reading some reviews we didn’t expect too much.However, Tom the owner was delightful and caring.‘ He helped with our luggage up some stairs ( no lift) and parking our car. This hotel/ pub has a beautiful beergarten and great ( with local dishes) menu.Our breakfasts were amazing, all cheerfully served by Tom.We will stay there again. ??Shops , supermarkets and tram/ bus very close.

No lift. And NO FAN.

This hotel is a little out of the way so expect to drive or take the tram to the city center. Having said that, it was quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small but clean. Great breakfast provided. Parking can be an issue. and there is no elevator.

Breakfast offered very late. 8am weekdays 9am weekends.Bathroom nil water pressure, water literally dribbled out of tap. Had to use the shower head to fill the sink.Advertised tea and coffee but only had coffee making machine in room. No use if you don’t like coffee.No lift, 42 steps up each time you had to get to your room was exhausting.There for 5 days and resented having to pay in full before getting the key to the room.

Second time i stay there. As always very nice, clean and close to trams and buses.

A friendly family run hotel and brauhaus in Rodenkirchen half way between Cologne and Bonn with a good tram service to both cities. The town is on the bank of the Rhine and there are walking trails along the river. The brauhaus seerves good food and there arelots of shops and restaurants around.

Lovely location easily reached by u bahn no 16. Large room, great shower. Big windows which aired room nicely.Supermarkets nearby. Pleasant shopping area nearby. Host pleasant. Easy access by key to property and room late at night.

Was a really strong smell of stale cigarettes when we came into the room. Also in the breakfast area stank of smoke. Really spoilt my breakfast. Was a coffee machine in our room. Didn't use it as we didn't find the pods until just before we left. In a silver tin that looked like a table top rubbish bin, nowhere near the coffee machine.Road was quite busy and noisy.

Bad hotel in Koln

The bathroom was very small and full of mold and dampness. Also, the shower was clogged and after 1 minute the water was full and got out of the small bathtub.This was repaired the 2nd day after we announced it.The hotel had no AC and it was very hot inside.The price was way over the quality of this hotel.Location was 35 minutes by public transport to the city center.

Easy to find, good friendly welcome in English. Smallish single room but perfect for my needs.Breakfast standard buffet continental but really nice.The owner both mornings remembered my name and always called me Mr Lyons (nice little touch)

Meals (breakfast and evening meal) were excellent. Service was very good. Staff friendly. Only 10 minute walk to city tram (Strassenbahn) network. 20 minutes into centre of Cologne. €3.50 for single ticket. Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants nearby. No late night noise from the bar/restaurant downstairs.

Scaffolding on the hotel building right outside our room (although not being used when we were there). Building work directly opposite as the Rathaus (Town Hall) had been demolished - started early in the morning. Rooms were a bit small. No drawers for clothes (there was a wardrobe). Only one chair to sit on and relax. We were on the 2nd floor - there is no lift - this was not an issue for us but worth noting.

The hotel value for money is great! The staff is very kind and the amenities of the room were perfect for a short stay. It is located in a good zone and not far from the public transport. The breakfast is also good.

Cleanliness of the room could have been better but it was ok.

Bed was nice

Bathroom too small, shower too small. Tap could be moved to hot or cold just by trying to shower. Hair dryer was dangerous as the old coiled cord had been cut and wires were protected only with electrical tape. New hair dryer was placed in the old base but the old base was still live. Not safe.

The breakfast was very good with plenty of variety. There was a continuous replenishment of everything.

The coffee cup were not replaced each morning.
