Hotel zur Malzmühle Tradition & Brauhaus Köln Altstadt

Hotel is centrally located, so it is easy to walk to city centre, shops & restaurants. The room was spacious and comfortable. Super friendly staff at reception.

The bathroom was a bit dark. It was a bit noisy from the back yard as there is a restaurant just next door. Just small detail!

I booked a double room that I used on my own. The room was very modern and nicely furnished. The bathroom was also very modern with a big open shower. The bed was very comfortable. Enough space to store clothing and bathroom facilities. Great room!Breakfast menu is very solid and offered a big variety of things.The location is excellent. Right at the Old Town area and access to all kinds of public transportation. Also possible to walk to Old Town, Cathedral and shopping area.

The water pressure was a little low. My room was quite close to the elevator that was somewhat noisy - especially in the morning.

The elevator was slow because it had two opening doors, one from the reception and the other from the restaurant. This caused confusion and often delays.

Great location, easy to walk to from the train station an anywhere in the old town. Bedrooms are nicely decorated. Breakfast is very good. And it was easy to talk to the hotel Staff thru booking.com, very quick to respond. it was also a good surprise to have a bar and a restaurant on the ground floor; It makes the hotel look squeezed "in between", but it's cool to get a night beer.

The reception staff’s welcome was not as warm as expected. On arrival after 10pm, we were surprised to find someone at the desk (since we had received a code for self-check-in). The staff member present was not particularly friendly—possibly the night shift? not sure. Similarly, the next morning, when we had to give back a document with personal details at the desk, there was no greeting or follow-up to ask about our stay or room. So don't expect a warm relationship with the staff members, not sure how it would have worked in case of a problem with the room of any kind, but the hotel is still a good address

Excellent location, next to the bus station, trams, and the metro. Room is very cozy and clean. Staff is very kind. Would definitely visit here again.

Shower is open in the room so there’s no privacy, unless the other person is sleeping in bed. Not very comfortable if travelling with family or friends but perfect for couples

The property is part of a loud restaurant/club and is old-style.

Perfect location directly by tram stop, Christmas market and short walk to the town and river.

Rooms are only cleaned every 2 days, we were there 3 nights and unfortunately did have our room serviced which caused our bins to be over flowing and dirty floors from the rain outside

Locaton excellent only two minutes walk to the largest Christmas Market. Staff very friendly and helpful with good English.Room very clean and warm. Our room at the rear very quiet even though the hotel is in the centre of Koln.A nice modern bar in the hotel and a very good traditional Brewhouse next door, it's owned by the hotel.Only about fifteen minutes walk from the railway station and a few minutes walk to the Rhine with it's river cruises.

The shower is in the main room separated by a small translucent screen. Two guys/women may not appreciate the visibility. The toilet is in a separate room. A small point and for us not really an issue.

Great location, nice staff, but they do not have 24 hour reception and I was nearly locked out twice because the key did not work, so I would not return because I would not return because of this.

I loved the location and that they had access to a secure parking lot. It was clean and they did provide a fan in every room.

Needs air conditioning, or if that is not possible nets in the windows so that they can be opened and the room protected from bugs and mosuitos.
