    Pros +

    • Friendly staff, location
    • Absolutely fantastic. Was a pain lugging my suitcases from the 4th to 5th floor. But once there, wow. Loft view, see the train station, and cathedral out the side. Breakfast was AMAZING. Best stay of my whole Europe trip.
    • The breakfast is amazing, with different daily options. Though you have to arrange in advance at what time you’ll have the breakfast due to their limited capacity.

    Cons -

    • The room, it was very noisy and surprisingly small. I almost can hear everything in the hallway and neighboring rooms. The bed is only 90cm wide and the quilts is maybe 120cm wide. I couldn¿t sleep well the whole night since I was afraid of falling down
    • While you know upfront that the rooms are small, it’s still odd seeing it in person. Specifically since some of the elements don’t work well, e.g. the small desk in your room has decorative parts at the top and can’t even be used to place a laptop on it.The bathroom door didn’t close to my room. The light switches didn’t do anything. There were no lights on the ceiling, only table lights and those used up most of the sockets in the room.
    • The rate for a quite small single room was quite high. (Just by comparison, for 30% less I got a room in a 4-star hotel in the center of Paris the next day). Probably I just visited in the "wrong" weekend with some large event, as there was little choice in Cologne and prices were all very high.

The hotel is very conveniently located near the station and the cathedral. It's a no-frills hotel, with a bit of aging signs, but clean and nothing was missing. I would not go there on a honey moon, but for a couple of days of tourism it's perfectly OK.

Clean room. Great location for those who want to stay somewhere close to Dom and Köln Central Train station.U-bahn entrance almost a few footsteps away.Satisfying breakfast.

Not all personnel at the lobby is fluent in English. Frequent internet failure in the room.

Great location and good "old fashioned" feel to the place. Decor was fresh and the breakfast really nice.

Took us a while to suss out the electronic door system - but that may be just us!

Property was very clean, staff were very friendly and helpfull. Location is perfect, all popular places is 5min walking distance

There was no refrigirator in the room

    Clean room and good wifi.

Misleading practice. Room located at the noisiest part of the hotel. Do not book their single room or you will be waken up by noise at 6 am. They gave me a room that is connected to the breakfast room, with two breakfast tables against the wall of my room, one on each side of my door.I was concerned when seeing this and asked about breakfast hours. The front desk lied and said it would not start till 9 am. But it starts at 6am. If I had known this, I would have upgraded to a double room as there was no other single room available at the time.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, small but cozy room.

Lack of aircon prevents the comfort score from being higher.Free wifi was fast, no problems, but not clear how secure it is.

Dodgy street but close to the station so good for getting anywhere. Breakfast was excellent

    Pillows terrible

The staff was extremely friendly. The reception warm and welcoming with fresh flowers. Very dedicated staff. Location near the station was for professional reasons very practical. We could check in earlier and leave our luggage - all for free so very nice extra support and service.

    8XavierPosted on: 1-10-2026

Front desk staff very friendly and helpful.Excellent breakfast, with the staff in charge, very attentive and efficient.Single room booked at the very last minute (therefore very reasonably priced), on the road side but the road itself is rather calm.Excellent situation almost in front of the main station.

Very convenient location - next to the train station on the other side of the cathedral

I think it was really excellent value for money, the room was immaculate, the bedding warm, in fact, I could not fault it.

Just a British thing I suppose - a kettle to make a cup of tea, but not a big deal.

We have booked an apartment. In the pictures was nice, but when we arrived was completely different. The bathroom is so small and not practicable. If you are not a slim person, you can NOT get into the tinniest shower I`ve ever seen. Also, to be able to sit on the toilet, you have to "squeeze" yourself to fit between the unnecessary big sink and the wall. And if you just sit in front of the sink washing your hands, you can`t close the door behind you.The kitchen is bigger. You have a coffee machine, but there is NO coffee pods or tea or anything else. For the price you pay for the accommodation (210 euro per night) I was expected to have at least a coffee pod or tea. No kitchen towels or tissues at all either. The bedroom was the worst one. The bed is NOT a bed. Is an open sofa with a 4 cm topper . The size of the double bed is 120 cm !!! A slim couple fits in the bed, but NO comfort at all. There were two tinny doves (kids stile) and two enormous square big cheap pillows. They were 1/3 from the bed space. No real bed sheet , only the topper was covered with a small case. I couldn`t sleep the whole night. Practically I paid 200 euros to have a reasonable comfort when I visited Koln Christmas Market....but I had a white night because I couldn`t fit properly on that sofa which they called bed. The bedside tables were 2 little stools where all the space was taken by the lamps. And yes, in that room was plenty of space to be placed a 160 cm proper double bed with a proper mattress. Basically it was a children room, including decoration for kids.No cupboard at all, just a standing open shelf with space for a few hangers. The cleaning was ok, but the towels were too small to be called bath towels.Location is lovely, 10 min walk to the Christmas Market. We parked our car in a safe parking situated in the proximity of this "hotel". Our accommodation was in an old block with apartments with NO LIFT.

Bathroom extremely small and not practicable. To get in the shower is a challenge, in an angle from the window side. Very annoying. Not enough space to sit properly on the toilet. The bed extremely small for a couple. The bed is not a bed...it`s a sofa with a slim bad topper on top. Two very big poor quality pillows. Decorations are for kids. Kitchen unnecessary big. No coffee pods or tea pods supplied. No towels for kitchen, or tissue. No carpets in the whole apartment. There is NO coziness in this apartment !

Location. Staff friendly. Comfortable bed. Breakfast good.

General facilities were not as expected given the price. No lift to our side of the hotel. In the room there was no safe or fridge and there were very few electric sockets. Toilet/ shower was a clean but cramped plastic unit built into the room. This is a three star hotel (just) at four star price. Less a reflection on the hotel, more on Cologne accomodation costs. Time to look at another winter city base in Germany.

    8ElenaPosted on: 12-12-2025

The hotel offers a comfortable, spacious apartment with good kitchen facilities for the price of an ordinary hotel room, and it has a central location. The staff are friendly. The apartment was quiet even though the window faced the street.

The mattress in the apartment I stayed in was significantly sagging on one side, so even though the bed is large enough, it might not be comfortable for two people.
