The bed and pillows, oddly for a hotel of this stature, were awful. We asked for different pillows but the ones we got were even worse.

The rooms and beds were very comfortable, the staff were nice and helpful and we enjoyed the breakfast. The location is good for the Christmas markets. It does have a parking garage although it is quite expensive.

We didn’t particularly like the design of the room dark and shiny, also the textile privacy curtain for the bathroom- a glass screen or a door would be much more hygienic and efficient. We did have high expectations, it is an ok hotel but not wow.

We really loved everything. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and was perfectly decorated for Christmas. The location was amazing very close to the Christmas market, which was exactly why we came. The spa was small but very cozy. And we were honestly shocked (in a good way!) when they even cleaned our car while it was parked. it was such a nice and thoughtful surprise.

When the receptionist asked us some questions, we sometimes didn’t know how to answer because we had never been asked such questions before, and she looked at us in a way that made us feel a bit uncomfortable.

Lovely warm and welcoming staff, the whole hotel is so beautifully decorated. We had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of staying in Cologne. The location is perfect and our room was so clean and everything was top end.

Very lovely hotel near to the center, you have everything in walking distance. The hotel itself is very modern and clean and has a sleek look. Staff is friendly and helpful. We even got a free upgrade from superior appartment to a penthouse which was super nice. Beds and bathroom were amazing! Thanks for this!

Fluffy carpet throughout hotel and room...not the cleanest choice for a hotel.No mini fridge. No water left in the room.Took 75euro deposit on arrival without prior notice.Decor quite dated for a highly rated hotel. Looked a bit inappropriate.

This hotel was not at all what I was expecting or hoping for. As two friends, traveling together to visit Christmas markets, we were a bit shocked to walk into the Savoy. It felt a lot like walking into a brothel. It is clean and attempts to be luxurious, but serious key elements for a luxury hotel are missing, which I will get into in the "do not like" section. Overall, it is a clean place to stay if you are looking for a partner, or partner seeking partner, experience.

For 400 Euro a night, I expect coffee or tea in my room, even if self prepared. I also expect more than one single towel per person. I expect a bath that can actually be filled or a shower that does more than trickle. I expect a "spa" hotel to have a spa that stays open more than 4 hours a day. (The spa is only open from 5-9pm.) I expect a 4 start hotel with bar/restaurant to serve more than one item on the menu for food. It was a bad attempt at trying to be a luxury hotel and instead being a high end brothel.

The staff at this hotel were absolutely wonderful and turned what could have been a disastrous stay into a lovely experience. On arrival our room smelt - they upgraded us to a suite straight away. Then the safe wouldn't open again promptly dealt with. Booked a massage, unfortunately double booked, so I think that they opened an hour early so that I didn't lose out. Thanks you to all the staff we met for making it such a pleasurable stay.

Heating in room was difficult to control - we like a cooler room and we couldn't easily reduce temperature. Please spare pillow and a lighter duvet with extra blankets for if you get cold - we were very hot overnight.The massage I had in the spa was lovely, but please why is it only open in the evening? In hotels I have stayed in, in the past they usually open mid morning or lunchtime until about 6. This allows you time to have a lovely massage and then shower before going out to eat.

Location is great - walking distance from the station. The hotel was very maximalist. Upgraded room was a big bonus. Wish I could have stayed longer.

I found the indoor areas of the hotel (hallways, etc.) very warm. Breakfast was expensive (ca. €30).

Few minutes walk from the station. Used it for an overnight stay. Excellent stay even if the hotel is at a busy road. Not too much noise from the streets but loud enough to make it appear as if a window is still open.

The room and bathroom together have about a dozen mirrors and a reflective 3d artwork behind the tv.This makes the room rather disorientating. Photo nr 13 on booking may even be the actual room. After a short search I could locate only one power socket, near the floor behind the curtains. There is no coffee or hot water machine in the room.

Characterful decor, proximity to the station, cathedral and many restaurants . We were upgraded to an apartment that was very spacious
