    • Breakfast was fabulous Staff friendly and efficient Room decor lovely Hotel facilities exceeded expectations
    • Suite was amazing, staff were courteous and very helpful. Views of Cardiff bay were breathtaking.
    • Sauna not working, no food available, deal purchased not open and honest and staff do not care one bit which is awful

    Cons -

    • The parking was stressful and it’s the only reason I wouldn’t stay here again.Parking meters x2 not working (after queuing in the rain). Tried downloading the app to pay for parking- couldn’t get it to load. FINALLY found a working payment station but as I’m not a member of Mensa (or brought my 9 year old grandson with me ) I had to rely on a kindly chap who showed me and another lady how to work the payment station. Stressed doesn’t come close THEN to add insult it cost £24 to park my car. Absolutely a rip off!

The room was lovely and spacious, with Ambar on the desk giving us a sea view room upgrade. Was very pleased with the room and the balcony it really elevated our stay even though it was only for one night.

Car park was wasnt very overpriced as it was £24 for 24 hrs which is standard for a city like cardiff but since most people are having too rely on the use of the carpark it’s quite cheeky for this 5* hotel too not include the parking in the stay already in my opinion. We also weren’t greeted extremely nicely and no one offered too help us with our bags which lots of even 4* hotels have done in the past and have been very attentive unlike this one.

Great location and very comfortable place to visit and stay. Staffs are lovely and helpful

The staff were very professional but able to still offer a personal touch. Karolina in the bar area was a superb host, At breakfast Lauretta looked after us , I have to say the Glamorgan sausages are a real treat, but the whole breakfast experience was just perfect. We took the opportunity to indulge in the spa, real shame we were on a short visit as the spa treatments looked amazing. The thing I like most, is knowing I will return as we didn't want to leave, even the view from room 504 took my breath away.

Having to leave - another few nights would have been perfect.

The spa was amazing the view from bedroom was lovely and amazing breakfast

Unfortunately didn't eat in the restaurant as very pricey and parking very expensive

    Clean and modern

Pillows were awful. They almost ate my face.

Breakfast excellent staff really friendly and nothing to much trouble to make your stay a wonderful experience.

Breakfast time maybe could had been extended.

Iam EXTREMELY dissapointed. I arrived at the hotel 20 mins after the time I was told that my room would be ready, receptionist was not accommodating at all, neither understanding of my upset. Then to be told I had to pay £27 for parking! Even though I paid nearly £200 to just stay at this venue. I thought it was absolutely disgusting that the hotel can even charge that price, again the receptionist had nothing to say with my upset and it left me driving home. I then got a lift back to the venue, as I refused to pay almost £30 to stay at a hotel that I paid all that money for.

We loved our stay at The voco St David’s Hotel, CardiffOur visit was brilliant from start to finish. The staff we met during our stay were absolutely wonderful. Extremely helpful, cheerful & kind. From the front of house/reception, in the restaurant & the spa. So pleasant & courteous. In this day & age of the lack of customer service it was like a breath of fresh air.I highly recommend this hotel & we will certainly return in the future.Thank you all very much indeed.

Nothing that I can think of

The staff were very helpful and the spa and restaurant were great. I loved the views across the Bay.

The air con made a whirring sound all night which was disruptive to my sleep. The sauna was broken.

    8MalgorzataPosted on: 2-12-2026

The room and view from our room was amazing. Breakfast was exceptionally good. SPA was fun.

Lifts condition and availability was very poor.

    5KellyPosted on: 2-12-2026

It is in a brilliant location, with fantastic views. Breakfast was lovely.

Parking is extortionate. The room was tired, the heating did not change despite altering the temperature. Bedding stained and torn, towels hard. Someone else’s hair clips in the shower, shower only faced the wall.

The staff are always very polite and helpful. They went the extra mile for my wife for her birthday by giving us an upgrade and wrote a message on her mirror. 10/10

The weather, the bay is an unforgiving place when it's raining and windy.

The cleanliness was good and generally nice facilities.

Most of the trip was horrible, we made a complaint the first morning. The staff responded really badly. We dealt with loud drilling and workmen directly above us from 8am - 3pm. We wanted a relaxing break, to use our space and enjoy the view but just ended up angry. The staff handled it terribly, telling us they couldn’t do anything at all but sorry. That’s not the way you treat customers and complaint handling process was terrible. They then said they would speak to the manager and never came back to us. The first night we were also chucked out of the bar early as they had a big staff party onsite. This was really loud too, we probably wouldn’t have minded at all had we had a quiet lie in the next day or it been dealt with properly! We have made a complaint through email, however, no one has responded in a week, so we have now placed 3 complaints with no proper resolution hoping for one this time as this is getting silly and has taken up lots of my time.

Lovely hotel. Our room had a fabulous view over Cardiff Bay. Lovely comfortable facilities Breakfast was ok, we came down towards the end of service and not much left. We made use of the gym and pool/spa. Everything you need is there.

Looking old and tired. Rooms need refreshing, spa used to be great but now dates and jets not working well.
