Copthorne Hotel Cardiff-Caerdydd

The location.

When we arrived the entrance door was all locked up, the receptionist then noticed we were trying to get in & activated the door which opened outwards & nearly hit my husband not a very good first impression. Room very tired. Restaurant service poor.

Lovely friendly staff. Easy location to find. Rooms were clean. Also helped with returning clothing that we’d left in the wardrobe!

We were in an adjoining room, and unfortunately we could hear everything from the couple next door, who were awake until around 2am. It may be beneficial to have a poster on adjoining room doors to inform guests that they are not soundproof!

The hotel staff were lovely and Ryan made our check in a very easy process and was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for him. Food was very nice and the beds were very comfy. Will definitely be back.

Staff was very friendly upon arrival. The beds and Pillows so comfy made for a good night's sleep.Shower was amazing

Not provided enough sugar and milk.Had to go up and down in the lift to go outside to smoke

The room and amenities were as expected and the shower was amazing. Plenty of pillows and lovely mattress.

Stayed for an overnight local to family for a birthday activity, location was ideal and facilities were great.

On arrival allocated lower ground floor room. Refurbishment work being done to bathrooms and wa told all baths are in process if being re-enameled . Strong pungent oil based paint smell throughout ground floor rooms - when this when is being done floors not suitable dor guest stays in such close proximity.We reported it to reception and were moved to the 4th floor with no smell.Rooms lovely clean and spacious 9am breakfast was a little bare.. but now was cooked when asked for. It was a week day stay. Restaurant area lovely, bright, airy with lake view. Appreciate up keep has to be maintained but there was no notice of works underway on website.The rooms were roasting hot

Missing the gym

Really great stay, the recent renovations are obvious and there is the odd whiff of fresh paint, thats no bad thing,,,,Room was spacious and comfortable.Shower so powerful it nearly took me off my feet.Breakfast was good, loads of choices, a classic full English, I've had better, but was enough to see me through the dayWell done Copthorne,, great to have this as an option again

Lovely, comfortable room. Very quiet. Easy to find, easy to park. I would definitely return.

I personally like colour, so would prefer a colourful room, instead of magnolia.

Lady on reception (when I arrived late at night) was lovely and made me feel really welcome

Bathroom was may be a bit tired but that’s grasping for something negative!

The size of the room was decent

They had rude members of staff with no etiquette of how to establish communication with customers. All of them just speak over you and read scripted sentences. I personally heard them repeat word for word the exact same conversation to the 2 guests that were behind us. They also lack hygiene in their rooms. Stayed for 2 days and didnt have not 1 single cleaner visit during our stay. NEVER will I book this out of touch place again.

Friendly staff, good location, quiet in rooms. Lovely food. Plenty of parking.

Bath not shower

Close to M4 Cardiff.Easy free parking though you need to register your car at reception quickly. Comfortable bed & room.Bar. Comfortable lounge seats.Breakfast was great. Help yourself. Full English, fruit, pastries, cereals, toast. Coffee/ tea machine. Waiters to assist. Lifts.USB ports.Reception 24/7 if you need anything

Shower/bath needs updating but functional.4 silver fish present in the bathroom on arrival. Appeared clean in the bathroom and bedroom apart from that.Perhaps the moisture levels need to be assessed in the bathroom as well as sealing gaps present.
