The property is very centrally located, rooms has all the amenities that are needed for a nice and comfortable stay.
The staff is fantastic: friendly, eager to help, knowledgeable. The concierge team is excellent: extremely resourceful and helpful.
The one staff member walked in the room to drop off food whilst I was showering , the receptionist was rude and put the phone down on me and they double charged me for the room and made me more than what I was originally quoted . I’m still waiting for my supposed refund for the first amount that left my account . I do not like this situation and process of payment
great location and very friendly personell. We stayed there as family.
Wonderful people, working there, is the key impression. We spent an absolutely lovely family weekend in the hotel. Thank you for the amazing location, services, facilities and attitude!
Everything was just great!
Pros: The staff was very welcoming and attentive, particularly Amir at the front door. The building, decoration, and room were contemporary, modern, and sleek. The room was spacious and comfortable, with great lighting, including natural light. The bed and linens were very comfortable. The shower's water pressure was amazing. Location is excellent, close to top-notch restaurants and sites of interest. The restaurant, Virens, is supposed to be great, though we were exhausted from traveling and opted for room service instead, which was better than expected and promptly delivered. Breakfast was decent. Would stay here again.
Cons: The biggest issue I encountered was with the room temperature. I need it to be cold in order to have a restful sleep and, despite turning the A/C down to 18C and high speed, the room still felt lukewarm. The pillows are "too" soft and did not provide much neck support. The bathrobes are small (and I'm not particularly tall or overweight).
Ambience of the hotel was exceptional.
We were advised that our room was not quite ready and that we could wait in the roof top lounge. We were assured that an employee would come and take us to the as soon as the final inspection occurred. After waiting for more than three hours to be taken to our room and without anyone advising us of the room’s status, we decided to return to the front desk and told our room had been ready for much earlier but that a mistake had been made. A most unfortunate occurrence!
The hotel was amazing and perfect for my short trip to Barcelona. The staff were extremely attentive and were always very helpful. Friends who visited who were staying at The Nobu hotel said they would all book here next time.
That I couldn’t stay longer !
Excellent restaurant and hotel staff. Near everything ! Just couple of minutes from Gaudi house.
This was our second stay in this hotel, but because of room, it was not so good as first one. Actually they have two buildings- if you have room in first building (corner building) it will be ok. Second building rooms are less fancy - not bad, but definitely not the same.
The hotel boasts a great location, making it an ideal base for exploring the city. Its proximity to local attractions, shopping districts, and culinary hotspots added a layer of convenience to our stay.
I recently had the opportunity to stay at this hotel and, unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. The most shocking issue was the presence of a bedbug in one of our rooms. We had booked three rooms in total, and to discover that one of them was infested with bedbugs was truly distressing. This is a serious concern that speaks to the cleanliness and maintenance standards of the hotel. We raised the issue the first night but no one chased that until checkout that we raised it again and they only said you're wrong and please don't leave review. Couple hours after checkout they emailed and said we have checked the room and there is no bedbug!!Additionally, one of the key attractions of the hotel, the rooftop bar, was closed during our stay. What was more disappointing was the lack of any prior notice from the hotel when we made our booking. This lack of communication was not appreciated and significantly impacted our overall experience.
The rooms were of a good size, providing ample space for comfort and relaxation. They were modern in design, which added to the overall appeal. The rooms were also very quiet, ensuring a peaceful stay. The addition of proper blackout curtains was a thoughtful touch, allowing for uninterrupted sleep. The breakfast provided by the hotel was so nice. It offered a wide variety of options, all of which were delicious and well-prepared.
The most distressing issue was the discovery of a bedbug in one of our rooms. We had booked three rooms, and it was shocking to find that one of them was infested. This raises serious concerns about the hotel’s cleanliness and hygiene standards.Another disappointment was the closure of the rooftop bar, which was one of the attractions we were looking forward to. The hotel did not provide any notice about this when we made our booking, which was quite unprofessional. To add to the list of disappointments, the spa facilities were under repair. I had been looking forward to using the spa, and it was frustrating to find it unavailable.
It exceeded my expectations in every aspect . Everyone was super polite , facilities were great, located in the best part of the town where you can enjoy everything equidistantly and breakfast was one of the best I had in a hotel. Lastly the price for all that was very reasonable , I would have expected to cost more for all that or not to be as good as it was for that cost. There is no other place I'd stay in barcelona when I visit again .
Really can't find something I didn't like
This is our second time staying at Almanac Barcelona. Rooms are bright and are a good size. The beds were comfortable. Location is very good and the staff are helpful. We enjoy staying in this neighborhood because there is good shopping and good restaurants nearby and it's easy to get around. I like the decor of the hotel. Try to reserve a room on a high floor with balcony and a view of the street. It is very nice and not noisy at all.
The rooms could do with a bit of a refresh. The room rates are very expensive. My family stayed at the Almanac a few days before leaving for the countryside to attend a wedding. We decided to come back to Barcelona after the wedding to spend a few more days. However, the room prices increased so much we decided to switch to another hotel for our last few days in the city.
Great staff, great room and great nearby restaurants
Menu too plant based for us
Location, room clean, staff
Room smells
The location was really the main feature! It’s a pretty hotel, staff are extremely friendly and blonde concierge lady was very helpful.
I was shocked to see there were no bathroom amenities. The doors shut VERY loud, we were being woken up constantly during the night as other people were opening and closing doors. The whole building shakes when the metro passes underneath. We also had a power cut one of the evenings and our room was completely pitch black with no explanation for 40 minutes. Spa is not a spa, sauna was falling to pieces and shower has only 1 temperature. I also felt that the rooms could have been cleaner, there was a few times I had seen hair in the room that wasn’t ours (in the freshly washed towels, hair dryer box, and wardrobe spaces). I had also very clearly asked for a room with a bench/ window seat when booking our room and on arrival we got a completely different room that we had booked. I don’t think I would stay here again, as I don’t see the value for money being worth it.
The hotel was very nice, well located for walking into the city centre and also to the old part of Barcelona. It was also within a nice walk of the Sagrada Familia. It had a nice relaxing roof top pool and bar with views across the surrounding skyline
The reception bar and restaurant area was a little small
The breakfast was incredible, honestly my wife and I looked forward to waking up to it each morning. The room was so comfortable, the staff were great. When we come back to Barcelona, this will be our go-to
