The staff are wonderful! They are super helpful and host events for guests to get to know one another. The bunks are cleverly designed so that the person in the upper bunk uses steps that double as storage space instead of a ladder. Best hostel ever!

The room was clean and cozy. Also, the bed was very comfortable. The staff were nice and helpful. I can stay here again!

It was a little far from Sagrada Família and Plaça de Catalunya.

I had a wonderful experience. Everything was very well organized and clean. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. I especially appreciated the cozy atmosphere and the little extra touches that made my stay comfortable. I would happily return and recommend this place to anyone.

I had a really good stay at Free Hostels Barcelona. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hostel felt safe and welcoming. The beds were comfortable and had curtains, which was great for privacy in a dorm.The location is convenient with easy access to public transport.

Some of the staff were really friendly and helpful.Room storage for luggage was adequate.The kitchen is well furnished for cooking one's own food. The owner was very friendly. It is much cheaper to book the rooms directly on their website rather than via booking.

On my first day, the storage locker to my bed did not close. As I informed the reception that day, she just said 'No'. Weird and unhelpful, bc it was a statement, not a question. She was pretty much rude my entire stay. But the other staff members were polite and helpful. Also, the elevator didn't work, I have a disability so it was suuuper difficult to get my luggage up the stairs and this same unhelpful receptionist didn't ask if I needed any kind of assistance (my disability is not visible from the outside). Also, the room that I was initially allocated in had two men in it that i believe stay in the hostel on a long-term basis so actually, it was pretty weird, they were blasting music in the room, singing super loudly, talking super loudly and generally just not being considerate that other people don't want to listen to their bad taste in music, their terrible singing and their boring conversations. Also, the bathroom inside the room had no fan, no window so you could smell all the smells and hear all the sounds coming from it...gross. I asked to switch bc nah...I'm not paying for that experience. So i ended up in a room that had a shared bathroom which was actually better bc i don't really need to hear other people's bodily functions like that. The rooms are quite small. Some of the rooms have storage that requires you to have your own padlock, some of the rooms have self locking storage...is probably best to ask in advance and/or bring a padlock with you.

The private room is very quiet and the staff makes sure that guests respect the quiet hours. The area is really nice with lots of restaurants and cafes! The bathroom was cleaned daily.

Bad

The rooms are too much dirty. They are also small, not like in the photos. Even though I paid for tree days, I didn’t stay here and looked for another place to stay.

Location is great, about 20 minutes on foot to Casa Batlo and Passeig de Gracia, 10 minutes to Avenida Diagonal. I really loved the kitchen and the lounge, it was very well equipped, clean and cosy. Staff was very kind and forthcoming. Quite surprisingly, even the people I shared the room with were very quiet and considerate. I really loved the beds. They were more like boxes with wooden walls, which coule remain open but could be also closed completely so one had complete privacy. Yet, it did not feel claustrophobic at all. The little lamp and USB was very useful, and also I got a key to the drawer so no need to buy or take a lock. Although facing the street it was quiet, and the mattress was also comfortable.

The room was otherwise very small, only one person at a time could take something from the drawer etc. In the bathrooms, no shower hose, which is always rather uncomfortable, because the water always starts cold. It also makes the floor in the bathroom wet in an instant. I would add some rag to wipe water from the floor. But those are just details.

Room itself is so conjusted and sorry to say but I didn't find worth of paying as the room lacks proper cleanilness

Everything was excellent! The room is clean and quiet. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The accomodation is close to the metro (8 min walking) and cafes. Barselona Sants is 12 min walking. Thank you for creating a cozy and warm atmosphere. I would definitely recommend your place for staying.

Bad idea

The hostel clearly doesn't live up to its name, "Free Hostel," and the price we paid for that quality.We were forced to stay there for two nights, solely because of the location.Paying almost 50 euros for one bed in a shared room for the following:- towels and a lock for an extra fee- no guarantee that the four of us would be accommodated in a single room for four- a super small shower and toilet, difficult to turn around in even for a small girl- a shower that's difficult to turn on for a proper wash- no elevatorOn the plus side- fairly clean- they host some events in the evenings, but we didn't attendIf it were a third of the price, there wouldn't be any issues, but that's not the price for a hostel of this standard.

This place has everything you need for a stay. Proper and secure storage, comfy quiet and private place to sleep.Kitchen with utensils for your use if you need. Staff is very cooporative, welcoming and poilte. Hair dryers in every bathroom, you dont need to pack a hair dryer for your trip. You can join groups for daily activities which is very safe and cheap I would say. Will definately book again for my next visit to barcelona.

Location close to Barcelona Saints rail station. Interesting area a little tired in places that seems to be going through gentrification. Everywhere seemed buzzing mid week with all sorts out and we found a couple of excellent and reasonably priced local cafes. I'm a regular visitor to Barcelona and it was refreshing to be out of the tourist bubble in a real Spanish part of the City.

The staff were friendly and went out of the way to be helpful. The beds were comfortable and the location was great.

But the bathroom had little to no storage to put our toiletries on. The shower curtain did not stop the rest of the bathroom floor being covered with water when the shower was on.

Good choice for female solo travelers as they have 4 people dormitories only for females with private bathroom, the bed was okay, it had a good blackout blind so you could have some privacy and shelves to keep your stuff
