What we liked was location and staff...mostly. The location was close to everything and very walkable. Also close to nice restaurants.
This is a long list. We arrived on a Saturday and everything was quiet at that point. Overall service was fine okay and friendly. Then Monday came and the construction noise for renovations being done by the hotel were unbearable. At times it felt like they were drilling holes right into the room. That noise went from early morning until 6pm both Monday and Tuesday. We left early on Weds. Beds were quite hard. The open shower concept was tough because water went all over the bathroom, no matter how careful we were.Overall, due to the intense noise disruptions we were very disappointed. We brought it up to hotel staff, but they didn't really care.

The location was superb, very close to Passeig de Gracia train station in the heart of the Eixample district. The breakfast was very good, the facilities impeccably clean, and the staff were universally happy to help with any questions in fluent English.

Noise from the street, other rooms and hallway and in the city that has a great night life, they start cleaning the rooms very early in the morning in my opinion. Not a huge deal breaker but The TV in the room was set to Spanish language only or at least I couldn't figure out a way to change it. In an international hotel, they should at least have an English menu option.

The TV channel needs to feature more English channels. There was no kettle or cups/ teaspoons or bath plug in the rooms. However staff did provide a kettle ( no cup though) and a bath plug and an extra blanket on request.
