NH Collection Barcelona Gran Hotel Calderon

Location

Bad sewer smell in our room. They changed our room @1am, new room on different floor had the same bad smell.

The location was perfect for being able to see Barcelona in a short amount of time. It?s so close to everything! Also the rooftop bar and pool offer amazing views! The hotel was clean and attractive. Our room was quiet, too.

The bar food was just ok and the service was slow, although the servers were very nice. Not a reason to not stay here, though! The beds were not the most comfortable either.

The air conditioner was not working well. It was fixed within 48 hrs.

hotel staff not accommodating, not family friendly. I am traveling with 2 kids and hotel request me to book another room citing room capacity. I offered to pay extra but hotel staff insisted on their policy.

The views from our 10th floor room and bathroom were amazing! Staff at the pool bar were fantastic.

I booked this with hope of using the pool and it was so small and always crowded so never did. The lobby area was very small as well with no where to sit if needed.

Staff were super friendly and very helpful with requests. The breakfast was amazing and the rooftop bar has the best views in town

Very expensive rate 350++ for a tiny room. Breakfast is average. Everything is average. Nothing special. Supposedly a 5 star.

Windows are flimsy and you can hear the wind howling thru the nightInstead of a duvet cover, they had 2 simple bed sheets which were not properly fixed and created more hassleOnly 1 oral hygiene kit for a room which accomodated 2 guests

Upgraded room paid for but the decor was dated and worn. It was not entirely clean.

Dated decor. In need of full renovation. Attention to details required.

The location and staff are great. We received vouchers for opting to not clean the room every day which promotes sustainability, and we are very happy this was done. Concierge helped us with restaurant choices, her recommendations were great. Water pressure was superb.

We paid for the premium room to have more space. Unfortunately the space is larger in the entry hallway, not the room itself. This really didn’t help us in search of a larger space. Our luggage was all over the place.

Location, view from the terrace was awesome, breakfast was awesome, great staff, early check in was not available but the suite with terrace was worth it - watched all new year fireworks from terrace.

Location was excellent

The room was very small, but at the end you don’t spend time in the room other than to sleep. Someone of the furniture was old and not working properly.

The location was great. It’s near all the nice tapas restaurants and the shopping districts.

The fixtures in the room were not properly maintained. I couldn’t even feel the air condition but as it was winter time, the room itself was quite cooling even if I closed the window at night. The heater rack in the toilet was not working. The bottle for body wash bottle couldn’t dispense the wash properly.

Shower leaked all over, did report and they fixed the issue, but could tell it’s a common issue given the flooring was damaged

The hotel team were superb and very welcoming. Room was large and the bed was very comfortable.
