    Pros +

    • The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are very well designed. We had a small kitchen that was well equipped. The beds were on the smaller side, but they were comfortable. There was a large bathroom.
    • The staff couldn't do enough to help and advise. They exceeded our expectations. The room was bigger than anticipated. The neighborhood seemed lively, well lit, busy and safe.
    • Fantastic setting a top drawer boutique hotel. Excellent experience

    Cons -

    • Many things/ items in the hotel room were either broken or functioning poorly. We had an issue with hot water the first day. Neither the bathroom sink nor the shower drained properly. One of the chairs at the dining table was broken. Elevator broken.
    • It would have been nice to have had an onsite restaurant but there were so many in the vicinity that it was a non-issue.
    • The only negative thing I have to say (and this is probably true for the entire Gothic district) is how difficult it is to get to and from via car. The easiest way out of the quarter is to ask the front desk associates to order a taxi if you need it. But it's an easy problem to navigate and we'd absolutely stay here again!

Fantastic setting a top drawer boutique hotel. Excellent experience

Great location and super clean. Very friendly staff and communicative.

The hotel is very beautiful and historic, with a balcony that overlooks a lively town square. The neighborhood (Gothic district) is very charming and full of things to see, do, and eat. We didn't take advantage of the pool or restaurant in the hotel, but the space itself was beautiful and the staff was very kind and helpful.

the first room was a little cozy but we were only there overnight. The second room was spacious with a larger bed and a terrace. The room was in great shape, the staff went beyond expectations to help with vast quantities of luggage and the location was ideal.

The first room was a little cozy but that is not possible to change.

Fabulous hotel! Beautiful finishes and amenities. The staff was very kind and helpful.

It’s right in the Gothic Quarter near lots of nightlife so if you want a quiet not, it may not be your space. We didn’t mind at all!

Awesome property in a great location. Beautiful room with all the comforts of home. Comfy bed. Great shower. The view of Plaça George Orwell was beautiful. The room was quiet. Staff were amazing.

A small complaint was that the water in the bathroom smelt when we first arrived. With use it went away. We never felt the bathroom was unclean or anything, just maybe the bathroom hadn't been used in a while—who knows. The TV had limited channels, but we weren't there to watch TV. If you care maybe bring a computer and an HDMI. The location was difficult for Ubers to find. We had to walk to Plaça Sant Miquel for pick up and drop off. The front desk was able to call taxis directly to the hotel though.

The hotel pool is nice for a quick dip. The connecting rooms for families is really nice and the complimentary mini bar drinks and snacks were very welcome- I wish all hotels offered that.

The buffet breakfast had great variety but it is overpriced.

The pool was great to have (although modest in size). The small sofa beds were great for our kids although we were a little nervous with the windows without any kind of guardrail.

The location was a little annoying re taxis but great for walking around.

    Location, rooftop pool

There was a variety of rooms that weren’t all represented on the website. No dining/breakfast on property. Laundry service was extremely expensive.

The location, the staff and the facilites at the Aparthotel Arai were excellent.

Our room was on the second floor and from 2am-5.30/6.00am it was SO noisy from the street. People going home from the bars, yelling, and bottles smashing. It was pretty bad.

    10ManonPosted on: 4-14-2025

The staff are extremely helpful! Offering maps and restaurant options. The location is perfect for walking the Gothic quarter, sightseeing and enjoying all that the area has to offer. Lovely personal touches, such as a fresh rose in the room, were beautiful. The area is lively but the rooms are very soundproof.

    Nothing!

Amazing location, spotlessly clean and comfortable. We really appreciated the set up for a family of 4 with double and two single beds, plenty of space and kitchenette. It was also so quiet given the location - the soundproofing is incredible! Staff were hugely welcoming and gave great advice on places to visit and where to eat. Could not have been better!

    Nothing - was perfect

Loved this boutique hotel.. Great for couples, solo or with friends. Service front reception was excellent.

Very nice property in a great location. The bathroom was gorgeous and had the best shower!!

We could have used a mirror in the main room to help with 4 of us getting ready in the morning.

I loved the staff they were so friendly welcoming and helpful. They spoke English which helped a great deal. They were professional and allowed us to leave our luggage before and after check in and out. I loved the room and it's amenities. The room was modern and spacious. It was tastefully designed and decorated. The ambience and quietness was outstanding. My daughter stayed here before and highly recommended it and I certainly agree with her. I would be back in the summer...did I forget to mention that this hotel has a mini kitchen and is close to everything in the city centre.

A bit pricey but I guess it's the time of year...it was worth every Euro.

We chose this property again because of the comfort, cleanliness, and the staffs’ attention to detail. The property is gorgeous and convent to what we wanted to see in Barcelona. It is a beautiful and well appointed hotel.

Central location, recently renovated and super helpful staff

It was winter and unfortunately we didn’t get an opportunity to use the pool

    10CathleenPosted on: 12-13-2024

The interior and exterior had impressive architecture, and the rooms were beautifully decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was quiet despite being in the middle of Barcelona. The room even had a kitchenette which is important to us since my husband has dietary restrictions and we have to carry some foods with us.
