    Pros +

    • It was nicely situated where we were close enough and far enough from Rome. Attractions were a good 15-20m bus ride with the airport being about 30m by taxi. Free WiFi was fast.
    • Convenient location, friendly and helpful staff. Great all around
    • We had a wonderful stay at the Cardinal Hotel. The half-board option was excellent — we really enjoyed the breakfast selection, and the dinners were absolutely fantastic. Our room overlooked a beautiful old Italian villa, which added so much charm and character to the stay. The bathroom was spacious with a great-sized bath, making it extra comfortable and relaxing. Public transport was easy to navigate and just a short walk from the hotel entrance, which made getting around very convenient. We would happily stay here again.

    Cons -

    • Room was horrible, the bathroom wouldn't stop flushing when we got there (fixed). WiFi dropped on second day for about half the day (12 hrs). Bathroom was very dirty (stains on the floor and in the shower. Drawer handles were pulling off.
    • Nothing wrong with this hotel!
    • Unfortunately, our experience with the maître d’ was disappointing, as he became quite abrupt when we arrived late for our reservation. The patio area in the evenings felt a bit lacking, as there was no lighting or background music in the hotel, which took away from the atmosphere.

    Breakfast was mediocre,

Bathroom, slow sink and bathtub drain. Not enough hooks or bar toʻ dry wet towels.

Coming from the US we did not like the breakfast other than the yogurt and the coffee. Eggs were barely cooked and runny. We did like the outdoor balcony off our room and the actual restaurant was very good.

The room was old and so small our suitcases barely fit. Needs a major update, furniture in very bad shape.

*We had a great stay.*The staff are very accommodated because we had a sudden change of dates and change of rooms and they managed it well. *Very responsive.

    5ShilohPosted on: 12-31-2025

staff very nice and accommodating. room clean.

bed uncomfortable, far away from city sightseeing spots, walls thin could hear neighbors all night

    9HamedPosted on: 12-30-2025

Staff are nice and helpful, communicative, specially Emily who was professional in handling the requests. The rooms were clean and size. The hotel is connected by several buses to the centre and two stops to the metro station. It is also nearby natural parks.

Breakfast was basic the same menu every day. Room had issue with the electricity. Some issue with the electricity in the upgraded room which was solved at the end.

Just 10 min away from Main city center

Hotel is bit old, they do not provide complimentary water.

Very convenient location, it was clean and had a great balcony. Parking was private, safe. Very close to convenience stores and Rome great attractions.

Outdated furniture, including bathroom. Very tight quarters. NO Air conditioning.! This was not fun.

    - great value for money- clean- located in a quiet area- very friendly staff- very good breakfast(buffet) and dinner(set menu with different options & large portions)- warm rooms -little shower gels, shampoos, soaps - near bus stops

Water in shower could be a bit hotter

For the inconvenience of having to wait long to check in, the Front Desk rep offered us free drinks at the bar. That was appreciated! Breakfast was included in the reservation which was great.

Check in took awhile and key did not open our room door so my husband had to go down again. We couldn’t find a phone in our room to call downstairs and book a ride to the airport. There was a roll-away bed that occupied space.

Close to the bus stop to Rome city centre. Also they have Typical Italian breakfast Maria and Ali at reception were both extremely helpful and nice

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel's location is also excellent for visiting Rome.. and a great breakfast.

The room was noisy due to an adjoining door where we could hear everything from the next room. Cleanliness was just average (neither good nor bad). We were also disappointed that we couldn't use the wellness facilities; the pool was cold, and the jacuzzi only ran during the day (9:00–19:00), which is when we were out exploring.

    8EdwardPosted on: 9-25-2025

View of the Vatican was very good from our balcony & building rooftop, staff very helpful & welcoming, free breakfast was good, shops nearby very good, pool was very nice & refreshing with adjacent seating & pool bar, inside bar also nice with daily early bird & nighttime drink specials, restaurant very good food & attentive staff, loved eating dinner outside. We would stay there again!

    10FrankPosted on: 9-24-2025

Breakfast was great with good selection, bonus to have a pool area, roof top bar a bonus too

Would of preferred a difference shower style, hard to get into jacuzzi tub

    Staff was kind.

Plumbing problems with shower and sink.Mattress were poor. Both twin beds you felt the springs. Safe and refrigerator were not working and had to be replaced.

Thr hotel was excellent. We did not request a crib for a baby. We do have teenagers. Not sure why that was a request. Anyway. Beautiful walk to Vatican square. Staff was fantastic and very accomodating Convenient. We had the absolute best tine.

    8GretaPosted on: 8-22-2025

We liked the room layout. We had a family room and that was nice. Good breakfast with a lot of options. Good restaurants, close to sights. We took a taxi to the coliseum and we walked from the Vatican to the hotel.

    Nothing we didn’t really like.
