Generator Rome

Very nice staff, comfortable beds and good price.

It was clean and cozy, the room was big. the price was also fair.

The bedsheet were from materials like plastic and it was causing sweating and annoy while sleeping. The beds were not having curtains for privacy or to prevent annoying others from light etc.

I loved the bar/dining room and the food they had. It was delicious to boot! The location was great and super close to the metro and train station. The square a block or so from the hostel had great coffee options.

The noise at times was a bit much, but they can’t really control that. My room was really stuffy and warm, but I had a window so I just opened it.

Central location- it feels a bit sketchy near the train station but that’s just central Rome. The property- clean, modern and well serviced. The staff and check in/out- easy, welcoming and warm.

Could be a little noisy with others on the floor but that is not the hostel’s fault. Nothing earplugs couldn’t fix. I don’t think my aircon worked, it said it was on but it was very hot overnight and I couldn’t adjust the room temperature. I slept with the window open though which was fine.

Emanuelle and another gracious lady in the reception when we arrived later in the afternoon. Although in the next morning, the scenario changed and the guy in the AM shift was quite rude.

I stayed in Generator in other European city and this one is all but a real Generator..Just a old building in a very ugly part of town to make money. There is no communal space and the urban design style as in other cities. Super disappointing. And the mattress was literally damaged and visibly binding to the right, very uncomfortable. Shameful.

Staying in this hostel exceeded my expectations. The room was big and spacious. It had its own bathroom and toilet. The staff was super nice and helpful.

Friendly staff and great location

Our room was very hot, fridges were broken but not cleaned out so very dirty and had food going off (no sign indicating they were broken)

First of all the reception staff who registered us he was so rude, not helpful at all and aggressive he looks Asian , we were group of 13 and I tried to help to collect passports to support one by one and one of the group took his key and was ready to go to the room and was private room and he started to shout who is this guy stoooooop here I will call the police , he is strange what police ?!! What do you want it’s 3:00 am I gave him all kind of passports and he forgot to register him anyway he isn’t decent at all, very slow and not organized and one lady went to the room with her husband and start to shout again come hereeeeeee whooooo are you stop stoooooop don’t talk really crazy talk with us like we are criminals, no tourist no work for him I can’t forget him really , and if you will open you mouth and talk again I will stop register all of you and will bring the rest back, I hope he will know that we are here to enjoy and help him and he has to help us not to treat us like terro…Second I booked and female dorm and there wasn’t place for her and searching a lot of time and at the end he said of sorry she has upgrade because she is the leader of the group I said I am the leader not her if you want to make upgrade it should be for me not her and he started to search again and end up like he did something wrong Third and most important the room is really noisy and scary when someone open the door produce very loud noise it’s nightmare and you should wake up because it’s tribble I hope they will change it because not goodFinally, the hostal I do like and wherever I go I prefer this chain anywhere but this one in Rome not and the breakfast is really poor and the guard told him calm down don’t call the police wha are you talking about calm down

Team is great and kind and with a sense of humor

The bathroom door was broken, so only one of the two bathrooms was usable. The hair dryer is from the last century and barely blowing the air

The place is close to a subway station, which makes it easier in cases of starting or ending the day of tour.

The reception was average, there was a polite and receptive employee, but there was also a very rude employee. The place does not have many facilities, charges to leave suitcases, the laundry does not work at the mentioned time and does not have ease of use.

The hotel is really nice and in a really good location. I had two bathrooms in my room so that was really convenient.

It wasn't possible to switch off the lights in the room, I had to go down in the middle of the night to ask them to reboot the room or something and finally the lights went off.I went to a lot of hostels in the past and usually they don't allow people from a certain age to stay in shared rooms. We had this 60 years old who was snoring like a truck the whole night.So I did not really enjoy a good night sleep

The size of the room is decent and the location is convenient.

The bathroom in the room is constantly not being cleaned, also the way the bed was cleaned was a bit questionable. In addition, a lot of things that I would consider normal accommodation is either not existing or being asked to pay (eg, broken hair dryer, shower unavailable to drained, luggage storage, utensils, bed replacements, etc). The most important thing is that originally I chose hostel accommodation to experience the social interaction with fellow travelers which is nearly not happening over here, which might be a low season problem but I was there for seven days.

Location, friendly staff

The locker price is too expensive It was 10€ for 24hrs (6€for 6 hrs) I stayed in another hostel with the same locker system and it’s just 4€ for 24hrs..

Good location, you can take any public transporta around there. The room was clean and big, would definitely stay there again.

Just one person that works there wasn’t friendly at all.

The rooms and beds were comfortable and staff was really friendly and helpful.

The outside area was little sketchy not nice as solo woman, the rooms were also very cold but they turned the temperature up and provided extra blanket when asked. Would also be nice if bar was open for longer.
