About

Less than a 5-minute walk from Termini Train Station, Igea offers great value for money with free Wi-Fi throughout and air-conditioned rooms with satellite TV and a private bathroom. At Hotel Igea you can relax in the comfortable lounge and enjoy a meal in the breakfast room or directly in your room. A sweet and savory buffet is prepared for breakfast, and includes fresh croissants, fresh fruit, cheese, cold cuts and hot drinks. The highlight of the Igea Hotel is definitely its location right in the heart of Rome city center. It is 1312 feet from the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and 5 minutes' walk from Rome Opera House. The Coliseum is 2 metro stops or a 20-minute walk away.

Pros +

  • It was a convenient stopover during a one-night transfer in Rome. Reasonably clean, quiet mostly but easy to hear people walking or talking in the halls. The breakfast was good enough to meet our needs. Wifi worked fine.
  • Location is conveniently located near Roma Termini and Metro Station and walking distance to nearby restaurants.
  • location. It is only 7mins away from the train station and 4mins away from bus stop. Walkable distance to major attractions like colosseum and palatine hills Breakfast was good too. Mostly cold food. You can make your own sandwiches and croissants.

Cons -

  • It felt like everything was adequate but not exceptional. We did not use the shower so can't comment on availability of water, but it was the tiniest we've ever seen!
  • Very noisy street all night long especially when the s/w cafe across the street were closing for the night & when sanitation trucks collecting the garbage. There were also sleepless peoples talking & yelling in the s/w all night. The A/C did not work.
  • The bathroom is very outdated. Noise echos A LOT. You can literally hear ppl peeing followed by flushing of the toilets. Don¿t expect good sleep here. You also will get woken up very early morning with ppl checking out.
