We love this hotel! The massage chair was great for my feet after a day of walking. The self serve in room breakfast was fantastic. So many options and so convenient. We had early tickets to colloseum and Vatican museum so we were able to grab food and go. It was also great when our flight arrived late. We could grab a snack before bed. Had a great time talking to the staff. They were so friendly and gave us a free bottle of wine to drink while they were cleaning our room. The location was fantastic and we had a view of the plaza/ruins from our window. They also have free luggage storage and a 24 hour manned front desk!

Rooms were a bit small but not an issue for us.

The staff were absolutely wonderful, kind, and attentive. Special thanks to Raz and Ante for their warm and personal service. The hotel has a unique and stylish design with great attention to detail. The location is perfect, everything is within walking distance, which made exploring Rome very easy. The breakfast served in the room was special and felt like a real treat.

There can be some noise from neighboring rooms and from the street, and the room is relatively small.

The staff was very kind and helpful! The location is very good. The breakfast was very good and plenty.

There's only one thing, the bathroom door was like a cortin,so not very much privacy.

Friendly staff/owner. Fabulous location. Rooms are so cute and they provided sooo much food, snacks and wine. For a younger person this would be heaven.

Postage stamp room. Perfect for single person or younger but small for us at 70. Bathroom very cramped which was fine for me but thought for Mr as he is a big man.

The best location ever, everything is so close, authentic design, very comfortable bed, kind and professional staff, we also had a massager in the room and it was very helpful after long walks, breakfast was in the room, a lot of different options and it was refreshed every day. Everything was clean. We also get some gifts during check in and check out. I’d love to come back.

Food in room. Good variety, but the room is way to small to enjoy it.

Room size. Too much art, calm down.

Hotel Barrett is a wildly eccentric place, a kind of surreal Rococo Roman dream stuffed to the gills with pictures, color, and some of the craziest décor I've seen in a hotel. Our room was bubble gum pink and featured walls festooned with white plaster putti and a big image of frolicking Graces. Each room has a massage chair, as well as a foot massager, which my wife enjoyed after a day of tromping around Rome. There is plenty of food in each room, including fruit, crackers, and cookies of various stripes, as well as cold water in the fridge. The common space is crammed to the gills with atmospheric bric-a-brac and trompe-l'oeil images, though it is not exactly spacious. Roz, the day manager, was very friendly and helpful to us. I was charmed by the place, but I must admit that I was glad we spent only one night here before our flight back to the States.

The hotel is on the third floor of a 300-year-old building and requires visitors to haul their bags up several flights stairs. For older or disabled travelers, this will be a genuine problem. And while the bed was comfortable, the sheets were a bit scratchy. But for the price, the Hotel Barrett offers genuine value.

    Location only

rooms are very small and packed with unnecessary things, the breakfast is just a bunch of super market processed items with a small space for preparation, also the hotel is on the second with no elevator.

    Location and staff

Too expensive for small, rickety and over decorated rooms. Breakfast in the room was ample, but eating out of paper and plastic seemed overpriced

Liked the location, the staff and the decor of the hotel, the cleanliness of the hotel and room.

The non existence of English speaking channels so unable to catchup on world news or watch a movie The size of the room, there was hardly any space to move around There was wall coat hook to put your coat During our start some days we didn’t have supplies refilled and we had to ask for them. They had no alternative supplies for dietary restrictions .. what they had was what you got !

The location of the hotel is beyond perfect for walking everywhere in the city. We were pleased with the size of the room for accommodating three people (two adults and pre-teen). The service was beyond exceptional.

The shower is a bit small but other than that, there is enough room to move around. I also appreciated the comfort of the beds and ability to open the windows. The decor is also wonderful to feel like you are on vacation in Rome.

The food in the room, the staff, and the location

It is not so big, and a bit old.

This was the best stay we had in all of Italy. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The person who checked us in helped with our bags and took the time to give us full instructions about the room.A quick note for future guests: breakfast is self-serve in your room, not in a dining room. That said, the breakfast provided was very nice and thoughtfully prepared. We were also welcomed with a complimentary bottle of wine at check-in, which was a lovely touch. The room was beautiful—the shower was excellent, the bed was very comfortable, and I absolutely loved the decorations. The view was the best we had during our entire trip. The night before checkout, we were invited to a complimentary meal at an authentic Italian restaurant, which was amazing and completely unexpected. At checkout, we were even given a gift of pasta, which was such a thoughtful gesture. An amazing hotel with outstanding service and genuinely kind, considerate people. We will absolutely stay here again when we return to Italy.

    Nothing!

A unique and charming 20-room hotel. This place has wonderful personality. Great location across the street from Roman ruins (see photo)! We walked just a few short blocks to The Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, and so much more! Very clean room and bathroom. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. Breakfast is like a mini-mart that’s located right in the room. TV but not a Smart TV. Bed was comfortable. There was even a massage chair and foot massager which were definitely used! Surprisingly quiet at night. On a bus line so easy transport from Stazione Trastevere. Located on Floor 2 (which means 3rd floor to Americans) but no elevator. They will help with bags, if needed. We will stay here again. Highly recommend!
