    Cons -

    • Major construction and refurbishment was taking place including jack hammers all day. Staff were economical with their when questioned. Told us it only was sanctioned a few days ago. We found out it’s been ongoing for a year. Hotel should have notified us when we booked so we could have made an informed choice to stay. The staff have their hands tied to deceive the guests. Staff tried to help by upgrading room and knocked off the breakfast charge. We left a day early and shortened our vacation.
    • They have problem with aircondition. In our room we had in night the temperature about 28 degrees. Was hot!
    • Breakfast selection poor, especially for vegetarians. Building work woke us up at 8.30 on the 1st morning. I mentioned this to the reception staff, but they didn't offer to move us, they simply said they would ask the builders to start at 9.30 the next day! However the builders started at 8.15 the next day, even earlier! This is totally unacceptable and we were not given any notice of this!

Great location, beautiful decor, nice spa.

The pool was nice. The location was good if you want to be near the Borghese Park.

The breakfast was basic. It just about covered all choices, but anything more than that and you had to pay from a separate menu. For example, if you wanted poached eggs, pancakes, granola with yoghurt, or smoothies. Normally, all of these items are free in a good 5 Star hotel. The coffee was not good. The staff at reception, some of them, had a really arrogant approach. Just rude! I was kept awake until 3 am by footballers staying in the room above me, playing football in their room or the corridor. Rather than apologise for my interrupted night, one of them said, there was no noise followed by the other receptionist who said, it's the guests. Nothing we can do. Not, I'm really sorry about your night!! No apology, from them. However, the cleaners did apologise. The room was cold! I had to keep asking reception to turn off the air conditioning. There was no kettle for making hot drinks as with other hotels. The bed was not that comfortable and the fridge in the room made a humming sound all night. Not forgetting the stand up lamp which flickered on and off at 3am one night... perhaps rattled by the footballers! Actually, I couldn't wait to go home. Shame really, I've had more pleasant stays in Rome at other hotels. Be sure to ask the taxi driver for an approx cost to the airport on your way home. Mine, turned the meter off at 40Euros when I was about 10 minutes drive and then charged me 75 Euros.

Very comfortable Very cleanVery pleasant helpful staffExcellent facilities

Air conditioning had been switched off since Italians think 21’c is winter! Not really a significant problem although we think it’s a warm Scottish day

Amazing view, very good location. Love the local bars around the corner

Location is greatService was really good

The property is somewhat démodé without being vintage Anachronistic to have the shower in the bathtub, so small as to make it uncomfortable for the price paid

Loved the cleanliness. The hotel literally smells with it. Loved the spa area. Although it is slightly dated and requires redecoration, the quality of the jacuzzi area is excellent. The water was perfect temperature. Amazing.

A bit of a glitch with room service. Didn't appreciate there is no tea kettles in the room, hence, not possible to make some tea, need to call room service which is 1) expensive (24 euros for tea) 2) not great service.

    Pool area

Bit far out of city and staff were very unprofessional

    10GhislainePosted on: 10-8-2025

Loved the hospitality and friendliness of the restaurant team. I had a lovely table on the terrace, the team recommended wines and food items plus lovely conversation with them. Felt very welcome and enjoyed the food and the conversation. Nice to dine at an establishment where the staff have been employed for years, in this case over 20 years so she knew all about the building and location.

I loved every aspect of my stay. Especially the relaxing time at the pool after walking around Rome seeing the sights all day.

It is beautiful in a historical sense! The spa was excellent!

    My room was small.

    10MirandaPosted on: 9-23-2025

The hotel is old school Italian and just gorgeous and the room we had was beautiful with all the facilities you could need. Anything you needed the staff were so attentive and friendly - and having a pool in Rome was just amazing - this hotel is worth it just for that (and having a pool supervisor, food and drink service to your sun bed etc was just wonderful). The hotel is a little out of the main city but just a short walk to the Spanish Steps or a taxi ride to anywhere you need to go - the doormen were so helpful and lovely. We found it a bonus to be a little further out and we even got to go to the zoo which is part of Villa Borghese just a 5 minute walk away! Could not recommend this hotel more highly.

We loved everything and will return.

    - Calssic hotel. And beutiful lobby - I had an amazing dinner at the hotel restaurant. Thank you cheff.

The room was very small and lacked several basic amenities that are standard at most hotels, especially those charging over $500 per night. Most notably, there were no tissues in the room or bathroom and no dental kit.The hospitality was not bad, but it wasn't at the polished, attentive level I expect from a true luxury hotel. For the price paid, I expected a much more comfortable and complete experience. Also, I was disappointed to find that the main restaurant was the only option for a simple morning coffee. For guests seeking a quick and casual beverage, having a secondary outlet open, such as a lobby coffee bar would be a significant improvement to the guest experience.

The spacious rooms, breakfast al fresco, the huge pool and the location close to Villa Borghese.

    10PennyPosted on: 9-7-2025

This is my favourite hotel. It is absolutely beautiful but what makes it is the concierge and reception staff who are outstanding - nothing is too much trouble and they are so pleasant and kind.

    10DelpretePosted on: 9-1-2025

I have been to Rome a dozen times - usually in the busy historical center. This property, by the Villa Borghese, was cleaner, less crowded, yet a manageable walk. It was a bit of a hike to fine a bar for coffee. The one the hotel recommended was a bit far.

Rooms were perfectly renovated , location is great - quite and central ! Love this place !
