- Good price for the location
- Very short walk (3 1/2 blocks) to Rome's main train/subway station, and 15 minutes or less to the Colosseum. Will return to this location. Just an FYI, Rome charges 4 euro/person/per day as a tax and must be paid to the hotel in cash (euro, maybe $'s)
Cons -
- Small room and awkward shower.
- The A/C was not turned on and we had to keep the window open to keep the room cool. Because of this we got eaten my mosquitos!!
- Needed luggage stands.

Breakfast on roof terrace. Helpful staff. Cold breakfast but great coffee, croissants, bread rolls and jams. Fridge in room. Bar facilities. Modern, roomy and efficient lift. Kettle in room. Superior room was spacious with sofa. Cleaned daily.
Bath and shower facilities were adequate but basic. Room was at front so quite a lot of street noise at night.
Staff and location.
Not to say I did not like it, but it wasnâ≢t what I expected as some of the reviews Iâ≢ve seen. This is not a modern hotel. Hotel columbia is set up like one of the old hotels complete with one single door key, that is left with the desk clerk when you l
Hotel staff is wonderful! When in Rome I stay at the Columbia!
Great hotel, 5 mins from main station. 20-30 mins walk from most attractions. Breakfast was great. Not massive selection but all fresh. Lady serving made coffees/Teas etc and kept everything nice and really clean. Hotel had a lovely "personal/family" feel, didn't feel like a chain impersonal hotel. Hotel reception staff nice and welcoming. Would have no hesitation in recommending and would definitely stay again.
All good for me
Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean room. New bathroom. Good breakfast. Nice location.
It would be nice with some whole grain bread at breakfast. But it seems to be typical Italian with light bread
Staff was nice, location pretty good.
Room was small and overall very basic. Breakfast wasn't great. I think 4.5 stars is overrated. Also although great to be near train station it's up the hill from all the main sites.
Staff very friendly and helpful, great location , great breakfast
Staff and location.
Breakfast was a little variable
The location was great. It was a 5 minute walk from the train station with lots of restaurants and bars nearby. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The bed was so comfortable. It was the best sleep I had in a long time. The room was small but it had everything needed including MANY hangers in the closet. The shower pressure was perfect. Housekeeping provided fresh towels and replenished room amenities on a daily basis. Our room was freshened up every day. The AC worked well continuously and there are lots of electric and USB outlets in the room. There is a nice terrace for breakfast and from 5 to 8 you can purchase cocktails. Free Wifi worked well all the time we were there.
The juices at breakfast were too sweet and not the healthy options. Most hotels in Italy offer freshly squeezed orange juice but this one didn't. The food selection was good but it lacked appeal. I felt that the lady operating the breakfast service could use more help. She prepared the spread, made and served coffees, cleared tables and replenished water and food. Although she was extremely efficient, it was hard for her to keep up with the number of people she was serving. No free water bottles in the rooms.
1. Friendly & welcoming staff2. Excellent location 3. Great breakfast 4. Good roomsThey even celebrated my husband's bday w a champagne ? in our suite!!Everything & more than we wanted!
Nothing!
The people who work at this hotel are very friendly and really helpful, they do a fantastic job. The hotel is very nice and in a very good location, if we return to Rome we will look for this place.
Pick pockets in Rome
The hotel staff was great! The very best of the stay was the front desk associate, her name was Naslie. Very cordial, friendly, and helpful. The staff at the 5th floor were also great at breakfast and also in the evening for a tea
The bed is two small beds together, that is not as comfortable for a couple
Very central location and the staff was really friendly and helpful
The plumbing situation wasn't working well and we had only very hot water. Also the sinks were clogged often. Beside the bed there were no sockets, only USB ports. Our cellphone don't have such a wire, so we struggled with having our phones charged. We paid for breakfast and we only ate there the 1st day. The only salty food was scrambled eggs, boiled eggs and some cheese and prosciutto. Not a fan of such a small variety. And when we tried the croissants, they were really bad. So I wouldn't suggest you get the breakfast option. We just lost money.
For us the location was perfect: within walking distance of the Termini train station, a good walk down to Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, and close too Hop On Hop Off bus pick-up point. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and cheerful. The breakfast was good and we loved the decor and ambience of the breakfast room/ restaurant/ terrace. Our room of adequate size had a well stocked fridge.

we can t not stay because it was so dirty and the room and bathroom was not as they offer. was a total misleading the way you present in your web pag
everything
The hotel had great staff. They helped us call a taxi, offered recommendations, and were flexible with service of the room. It was a good size room for a European hotel. The rooftop patio was great for breakfast or grabbing a drink in the evening - the staff here again were amazing. The area was central to much of what Rome has to offer and was affordable.
There was very little to complain about. The room was slightly outdated and the tub was a bit odd shape. The location is central but not really close to major sites, but certainly walking distance to most major attractions. It was a bit loud but again, this is true for anyplace in central Rome.
