    Pros +

    • Let me preface my below comments. I have been traveling greatly all my life. Now run a travel business. I have stayed at over 3000 3.0-8.0 hotels around the world. On average over 60-70 new hotels a year. I know hotels intimately. Pros: 1.hotel s
    • The hotel was located in a great location! Very easy to walk to all the top tourist places in Rome.
    • Location - this is walking distance to many rome attractions.

    Cons -

    • Cons: 1. Overall this is not a 4 star hotel. The ratings of hotels in Europe differ to those of the US/Asia/middle east. It is a 3.0 at best. 2. The hotel needs a total revamp. New paint. Its rundown. 3. The rooms go from a 2.5 star to a 3.0.
    • The hotel staff was very rude to my family. I was unimpressed with how they handled our stay at the hotel. The front desk man yelled at both me and my sister, and when I was trying to check out he snapped at me. Also, the room walls had writing on them.
    • Rooms are old. AC did not work and constantly made a loud sound. When I called front desk they told me to turn down the ac so that loud sound would go away. Fridge in the room was also noisy. Rooms and doors are old. This is no where close to4 star hotel.

    The location is very central

This is ABSOLUTELY not a 4 star hotel. I have no idea why it is designated as such in Rome. There were two people working in the entire hotel. Our "king" was two twins. The TV was 12 inches (actually). The walls were peeling and unpainted.

Hotel Traiano is a very nice Hotel with a friendly staff; the room exceeded my expectations and the location was in the center of all the areas i wanted to see (all walking distance). The Hotel has a nice breakfast buffet and the WiFi worked perfect.

The elevator on fit 2 people but the room made up for the shortcoming...

Photos describe our room accurately, staff at front desk was very helpful all 3 gentlemen we seen throughout the whole day.

    No air conditioning in room.

a very nice welcome from hotel staff, very nice buffet inn morning. a bell boy at night was very helpful. he eagerly arranged to give some ice every night so my wife could get relief from swelling of her knees. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone

Staff was very helpful and pleasant to talk.

Breakfast the eggs didn't taste fresh. Bacon was always over cooked soaking in the oil and Chicken sausage was like plastic. There was very little variety for 3 days we stayed. The cold side was good.

Location was close to the Roman Forum, Coliseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Spanish Steps. All were within walking distance of Hotel Traiano. Not to mention, it was conveniently located near many very good restaurants.

The location of the hotel was perfect for the Colosseum area. Had a wonderful time walking around the surrounding neighborhood, seeing the sites. The staff was great, very accomodating. Had a wonderful room, and breakfast was definitely a bonus. Also, it is so difficult to get change from paper Euros to coins, but the front desk had no issue with exchanging a paper 10 Euro to coins for us. While that may not seem like a big deal, to put it into perspective, we had stayed 5 days at a 5-Star Naples hotel, and they never once were able to make change....Hotel Traino, no issue at all!!! From an American, I give them extra bonus points for the convenience!

    Nothing that I would change.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location couldn't be better. The bed was comfortable.

We were extremely cold our entire stay. The staff said they were waiting for permission from the city to turn on the heat. Upon request they did provide extra blankets in the form of uncovered duvets which helped when we were in bed but not the rest of the time we were in the room. We were already sick when we arrived, so this made matters worse. The bathroom is very, very small and only fits one person at a time. The shower itself is treacherous as it is a slick ceramic floor with no grab bars or anything else to hold onto. The shower fixture was nice with multiple ways to use it. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure Except for the bath towels, hand towels are a thin cotton line flour sack kitchen towels: get wet quickly and don't dry. Breakfast had a nice variety and quantity and staff were pleasant, but the eggs were always cold, even when we were the first one's there when they opened.

The entire hotel was absolutely beautiful. It really fit the classical theme of Rome, from the columns and statues in the lobby to the high ceilings, wood floors and chandelier in the room. Staff was extremely helpful, accommodating and friendly. They even ordered is a car ride to the airport. The hotel is perfectly situated within walking distance of the Coliseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Spanish Steps and more landmarks, as well as the extensive shopping on and around Via del Corso. The breakfast was extensive and delicious, and well stocked with plenty of seating for guests and reasonable hours.

The elevator is very very small. Like closet small. We had 4 people and lots of luggage and had to make several trips up and down. Luckily the staff was helpful but be prepared for some work when checking in and out.

Great location, you won’t need any transportation, breakfast was really nice, and big room and bathroom.

    7LeePosted on: 10-26-2025

Breakfast was ok, about average for Europe!

The air conditioning was broken and they were not able to fix it. We came back from a long walk sweating and sweat all night long . They didn’t have a different room, they said they were fully booked. Very small and awkward bathroom. Safe battery died so had to have someone come open it up
