Hotel Smeraldo

Perfect location for all of the historical sites. Definitely in the heart of old Rome. Staff members are fantastic.

Rooms are very small. Elevators are very small and slow.

Hotel employee and her mother were very welcoming. The rooms had excellent AC and the location even had a laundry machine! They arranged a taxi transfer for us to the cruise terminal.

This is a great location central to everything..Staff was always nice and helpful to call taxis and give information..Breakfast was WONDERFUL..

Hotel is located well in city, close to things. Breakfast and breakfast staff were good. Umbrellas available to borrow.

The room was like a SAUNA. I asked the front desk about the air conditioning because the temperature in our room was at 24C/75+F. I told him that I turned the AC down to 21.5 and it went UP in temperature. The front desk said it could not maintain 21.5C/71F (on a day where it was only 10C/50F outside!!) and that I should just open the window. That might have been fine, but even after the thermostat told me it was "off" it still kept pumping heat into our room day and night. We had to leave the window open at night in the middle of busy Rome. Lucky I have good earplugs. Front desk was no help. Our friends experienced the same relentless heat issues in their room.

the soundproofing of the room should be better because I could hear other guests when coming to their rooms and talking inside too.

The location was the best thing because it was within walking distance to the main places. The breakfast was excellent, the workers were very kind.

Our room got all the noise from the street beside the hotel! Out room faced the side street which had many bars and restaurants, so we got the loud noise of the people screaming, the many trucks that came to clean the streets and the garbage. In conclusion, although the bed and room were comfortable, we could not sleep at all!

Breakfast is tastyIf you like walking location is perfect. You can access commercial zone and historic sites on foot. If you prefer use of car of public transport to everywhere in 100m maybe not ideal.

I would like a chair and probably a table where i could open my suitcase.

We had a nice balcony room , staff fabulous but sadly because the hotel is well located it is also very noisy at night

great location 15-20 min walk to all POI. Good breakfast, good variety of food. Room was clean and comfy.

This hotel was exactly what I was looking for!The location is excellent – within walking distance of everything, yet on a quiet and pleasant street. There’s a bakery right across the hotel and many cafés, shops, and bakeries nearby.The room was small but very well organized, cozy, and spotlessly clean.The staff was outstanding – friendly, helpful, and available 24/7. Every interaction was great, and they kindly helped me arrange a taxi to the airport.As a solo traveler, I felt very safe in both the hotel and the surrounding area.The breakfast was tasty, and the rooftop bar was a lovely bonus with a great atmosphere and wonderful staff.Highly recommended. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Rome!

From the helpful and friendly staff, the excellent breakfast selection (with bread from the famous ‘forno Roscioli’ and fresh maritozzi), the lovely rooftop bar - we had wonderful stay in the heart of Rome.
