About
Overlooking the Palatine Hill, Kolbe Hotel Rome combines medieval arches, exposed brickwork and a courtyard restaurant. It has an enviable location in the heart of historic Rome. Medieval interiors mix with contemporary furnishings such as the leather couches and plasma-screen TVs in the hotel lobby. Some rooms have exposed brick walls and high arched ceilings from the 15th century. The also include air conditioning, satellite TV and Wi-Fi access. A varied hot and cold buffet is available at breakfast. The Unique Al Palatino Garden Restaurant serves Roman and Italian dishes, which can be enjoyed on the patio overlooking the garden. Located next to a Franciscan friary, Kolbe Hotel is a 15-minute walk from the Coliseum and the popular area of Trastevere, just across the Tiber River. The hotel is very well connected by both tourist and local busses.

- Helpful staff, very clean, outstanding breakfast
Cons -
- The coffee in the room and at the breakfast buffet was not up to Italy’s standards for coffee. We would walk down the street to get an excellent espresso and cappuccino.
- Safety issue in shower tub , dranage missing no shower curtain to prevent splashing ; not recommended for erderly
- -The bathroom was outdated and filthy with old tub recaulking. -The tub drain didn’t work which left me standing in a tub full of dirty water while I showered -the bath towels were old, thin and rough -The beds were like sleeping on concrete -the only window in our room was 10 feet up the wall. The room was dark and dingy -the walls were thin and we heard all of the people around us - including loud snoring from the person next door ALL NIGHT LONG -Room was basic, non decorated -Breakfast ended too early

The location of this hotel cannot be beat. It is just a minutes' walk to the south entrance of the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill. The Capitolini Museum is close by, too.

Lovely 4* in the historic center of Rome
Friendly, helpful staff. Great location and lovely breakfasts!
The decoration may not appeal to some, but we found it fun, comfortable and clean and it was in a perfect location for us, and quiet at night.
Very friendly, helpful staff Excellent location, unique beautiful clean rooms .Great selection of breakfast. Very comfortable bed.
There wasn't any weak point from my view
Breakfast was excellent and staff very knowledgeable about Rome - especially Elena
The breakfast was perfect. I'm vegan and yet have found enough fruit and fresh rolls for myself. There were 7 of us staying and everyone loved the breakfast.Perfect location, couldn't be better. The friendliest of staff and very clean. We couldn't fault it. It was perfect.
Nothing. Everything was perfect.
Very comfortable; wonderful, welcoming staff to me and my family, including signorino Cameron; fantastic location between the river and the Forum.Special shout out to the wonderful cleaning staff and to Alessandro who took such good care of us. Highly recommended!PS Our mode of transportation was often Uber which - in partnership with local taxis companies - seems to be much more accessible than in the past.
Very clean and spacious room. The hotel is very quite and located in the heart of the historic area in the centre of Rome
We paid full day rate for a late check-out extension of 7 hours
The location of this hotel is unbeatable! It's incredibly easy to find, and you can walk to the square effortlessly. The rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious, offering a very comfortable stay. The host was amazing—extremely welcoming and helpful throughout my visit.I highly recommend staying at this hotel. Everything you need is within walking distance!
Very handy location close to Romes historic centre. Nice hotel well appointed. Rooms were small but well equipped with excellent bathrooms showers etc. Staf were very welcoming and very helpful, especilly as the road works outside prevented vehicle access to the hotel
Hotel seemed a bit short staffed at the bar during the day.
Honestly, the staff. I don’t remember having spoken to more professional people in any of my stays before. Trust is in the air when you step inside the hotel. They were super helpful and fast with everything. Plus the location is great too, walking distance to Trastevere and Colosseo
It is a little dated hotel I have to admit.
The breakfast was amazing something for everyone. Our room was large and fully equipped and overlooked the forum. Very quiet and peaceful. air conditioning set for us and a perfect temperature. All the staff were fluent in English and very, very helpful.
Not a criticism but the hot food at breakfast could have been warmer,
Great room, good breakfast buffet and lovely garden to enjoy a nice dinner outside.
More icecream choice on the menu ?
Clean, welcoming staff.
We liked it. However, the shower area of the double room was very small.
