Pros +
- Very clean
- Only location nearby Termini train station
- Friendly staff, unique rooms.
Cons -
- Area has graffiti and many non-Italians hanging around
- My experience at Hotel Art Romano was extremely disappointing. The photos on Booking.com were misleading, showing a facade that didn’t match reality as I attached the faked gate foto which is not realThe building had no clear signage indicating it was the hotel, which made me walk for an hour and a half searching for it. I received no contact details until I reached out myself. When I arrived, I found the building old, the elevator only went up to the second floor and was often out of order, and the hotel was on the third floor. The so-called breakfast was just a small piece of Nutella with bread and some questionable coffee. The bathroom was outdated and everything felt worn out. Overall it was the most bad hotel I leave.
- No signage outside, you need to call initially which can be difficult for some people.

Location was great. Rooms eclectically:) decorated-but facilities were clean. Staff super friendly.
Access to front door wasn’t too clear but once we found the button for entry access, all was good. The entry to building was not pleasant to look at but once we walked to the hotel door-a few flights up, dated but very clean and safe . Elevator working.
Fairly close to that Roma Terminal, convenient for people who need to catch the train to the airport in the morning. Hotel owner was communicative, especially when it was challenging to find the right location.
I am not sure if the housekeeping was done properly as when I was about getting into bed, I found tons of sand under the cover. As my room was close to the entrance, I constantly heard people come in and out at night and in the early morning. The area is also a bit ghetto since multiple homeless just slept and dealt with their physical needs off the street next to the entrance.
The area is calm and beautiful, even the hotel is very nice , clean , and the room was large and everything was clean and organized. The staff is so kind and very welcoming. The bathroom was clean and the water runs great. Definitely my favorite and I recommend this hotel.
Very lovely staff, I was unable to find the hotel and they sent me directions. It's great if you like being left alone, I prefer this over staff that hang over your shoulder. 5 mins walk from the big bus and train station
Hard to find
The location was close to the train station and some lovely restaurants. The provided tea and coffee and light breakfast snacks. Ravi on the reception was more than helpful and polite.
1. It's an old building and needs some basic maintenance. 2. The lift worked once during my stay and walking up 3 flights after being out all day was the last thing someone needed. NOT FOR PEOPLE WITH ACCESSIBILITY NEEDS. 3. The size of the shower stalls, small and not for the average or even larger sized person.4. Mattress/bed uncomfortable 5. Lack of signage on the building. A small brass plaque with a button and hotel name handwritten is not easily seen.
A SAD JOKE
Last night, we had to check in and there was no key in the lock-box. This morning, I was told that I didn't open the correct lockbox. Although the code worked :D So, this morning, after sleeping in a hotel on the next street, miraculously, the key was in the lockbox, but the apartment wasn't cleaned. Obviously, last night, someone else has stayed there. The host kept calling me "darling" over the phone and interrupting me. Then, they told me our booking had been cancelled because we haven't checked in on time, which is ridiculous since we received all confirmations, links, codes, etc. I understand that mistakes happen, but all the rudeness, etc. That was just a joke.
Nice location, clean facility and friendly staff.
Elevator is not working.
The only good thing was that it was close to the bus station. Also the Wi-Fi is fast.
In February, the AC wasn’t working, we got home sick. Also there was no one at the reception, a boy only came to do the check in. The breakfast was a tiny chocolate croissant, a tiny rusk and jam. The coffee machine is totally useless. The elevator works only up to 2nd floor and the hotel is on 3rd, also the cabin is very small.
Cozy and spacious double bedroom, basic facilities TV and kettle in the room. Option to have a light breakfast in the small dining room.Location was ok, impeccable cleaning service carried out every day.Very pleasant and good value for the money.
Coffe machine in the kitchen is useless
Great location. Spacious room .
Elevator is really small and doesn’t work on the hotel floor. (3rd floor) . Will be struggling for luggage.
Nothing I couldn’t get in because nobody answered the door.
There was very difficult to find and there didn’t have a sing with the name of the hotel.
Location
The room is very old, the elevator is not working, and the hotel room is at the 3rd floor. Toilet flushing button is not working.
The best thing is the location but I also liked the availability of free water to drink in the common area. The self check in was easy and you could store your luggage for a while after the stay.
Unfortunately, even though I have't found any trace of dust or food on the floor like other people here, when I arrived I found one of the towels on the floor, beside the shower, so I'm not sure about how my room was cleaned prior to my arrival. The elevator was creepy and only worked when I arrived, then I had to walk up and down 3 floors, that is still acceptable if you're strong and young, but I'm reporting this for anyone else. I wasn't expecting much from the breakfast and I can't complain about the choice, I just found it weird there was no one to make you coffee, while the coffee machine wasn't automatic. There was no staff available in the building, all contacts have been (kindly) held by phone. The place looked old but that's quite common in the accomodation around the Termini area.
Had a bed to sleep in
Didn't see one member of staff the whole time, loads of tissue in draw with what can only be described as some sort of bodily fluid in, god knows what. Toilet lid won't stay up, shower a mess and breakfast is a few bits of bread and some cereal. Overall not brilliant might aswell have slept on a bench
Price was ok given its location and proximity to Roma Termini
My 1-week stay with them was absolutely horrible, bearing in mind this is a 2-star budget hotel. Made the following complaints and they refused a refund and didn't even offer a change of room when there weren't many guests, if any. What a joke.- Worst part of this stay - LACK OF HEATING. Rome was freezing the whole week, reaching down to 3 degrees on some days but there wasn't any heating in the hotel. I raised this with them but apprently they "would have to call a technician" but this issue still wasn't resolved at the end of my stay. They only provided an extra blanket as if that was enough. How was I supposed to function at other places other than the bed? I ended up having a fever and cough on the third day.- Hot water from shower is very temperamental. I had to increase the temperature every few seconds to keep the hot water flowing otherwise there would only be cold water which is very weird.- Water took ages to flow down the drain in the shower. Thoroughly enjoyed submerging my feet in water throughout each shower session.- There was mould on the shower doors.- The light wasn't working in the living room which meant that I could only work on the bed. This was fixed on my second last night which wasn't helpful.- There wasn't a receptioninst pretty much all the time. I only saw them twice, one of which was when they wanted to collect city tax from me. This was extremely inconvenient as I could only get in touch with them via Booking.com chat which took hours each time to get a response.- Breakfast was included but I didn't receive any information about it. I raised this near the end of my stay only to find out that "I have access to the kitchen which is 24/7 and contains cereals etc."- Toiletries were limited, e.g., two 20cl hair and body shampoo bottles for 7 days.- Someone else finally stayed at this hotel near the end of my stay. That was when I realised how terrible the soundproofing was.
the hotel has nice location, less than 10 minutes by walk to termini station and 2 minutes walk to castro romano metro station.the bed was comfortable and the communication with the owner was ok even though i never saw anyone on the reception.
this is not a hotel in a classical sense. it is an apartment building and every floor is turned out to be a different "hotel". the elevator doesnt look reliable and the stairway was smelly and dirty.there was questionable cleanliness of the bathroom - moldy shower, hair from previous guests in a toothbrush cup... strange external electrical wiring all over the room and especially in the bathroom (in the shower area) - didnt look dangerous but just strange. low water pressure and no hot water in the bathroom sink. overall it was kinda ok stay for my two nights in Rome but definitively too expensive for what you get.
It was very well located and the room was really big.
Only met the staff once during my 4 night stay although she was very welcoming and friendly when I did meet her
