Hotel Il Papavero

Very comfortable.Really nice staff, very helpfulIt is centrally located, 5 blocks from the central railway station and subway station, within walking distance of many important sites. Internet access was perfect.Many trattorias close by.

Hotel needs upkeep. The refrigerator didn't work at all. No hangers in the closet. No elevator, 46 steps up to the room.

Very ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect. Everything went smoothly from booking to checkout. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again.

The staff was very nice. They tried to best to make it work for us.

Our toilet started flooding on the first night and because it was a weekend they couldn’t get a plumber in. So had to result in using a bucket and water to flush the toilet. Went on for about two days but eventually it was fixed. Thought we would’ve at least got a new room or something. But it’s okay we made it work.

I LOVED the location!Everything interesting in Rome is within a walking distance, lovely neighbourhood, amazing and affordable restaurants, shops, coffee shops all around the hotel. Metro station is 10min walk away. We stored our luggage at the reception free of charge. Very kind staff.

Google maps led us to the address accross the street from the hotel, not a big problem but so you don't get confused.The heating could have been turned on earlier during the day but also not a big issue.

Extremely nice staf clean and perfect location

Friendly stuff and had a place to leave luggage after check out. Room was comfortable and the hotel is close to train station and some bus stations that you can use to go to city center or other place if you dont want to walk.

Ithink room was too expensive for its category, it was a basic room. Hotel is 20-25 minutes walk from city center. The refigerator at the room was so noisy that we couldnt sleep, so we unplug it.

It’s very difficult to locate. The reception is located in an underground chamber. There is a sign board but not very clear exactly where to knock or go!

Hotel Il Papavero is a great option for visitors to Rome who plan to spend most of their time touristing the City. What stood out the most with this stay was the receptionists - both that we met were eager to help us with questions and we got a great introduction to places of interests. Our late check-in and early check-out wasn't a problem whatsoever. Super nice as well!

It's a modest room, no luxuries. (For newcomers to Rome, it's good to know that the tourist tax is to be paid in cash, so plan accordingly)

the location was fantastic. the staff were friendly and accommodating.

the neighbors were loud till deep into the evening and were smoking cigarettes that would leak into my room while i was trying to relax and rest.

Little pricey for the style of hotel!

The staff was very nice and friendly. The location was good.

The room was not clean. They gave us a thin blanket to cover ourselves. We asked for it later and it was brought the next day. Even though the cleaners came every day, it was still not clean. We asked for extra shampoo. They brought unused shampoo from another room. There were hairs on it.

We liked the place because it is close to the train station. There are a few places to eat nearby. We went to a very nice one and had an excellent lunch. The hostess was excellent, very pleasant and friendly.The neighbourhood, although old, is nice.

Nothing to report. Everything is fine.

Asking for 10 euro for AC daily is ridiculous.

The room looks bigger and better on the photos , everything is old and well worn, there was no kettle or coffee station , we had to go down to the little “ cellar “ next door that they use for a reception desk to ask for a kettle and cups ! No soap or shampoo ! We had to ask and was poor quality ! The bed looks like something out of a nazi concentration camp

What i only liked about the hotel is how polite and nice the receptionist was and how close the hotel is to the central places - the Pantheon, Termini station, Fountain Di Trevi, etc. At least everyday the trash gets thrown out.

The floor was dirty. It is unbelievable that one has to pay extra for an AC that is already in the room. It's low maintenance and cheap. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. How come there was only 1 comfortable contact to use for a charger?? The wardrobe was placed at a stupid place also.

We got an astounding room with a large terrace opening on a spacious courtyard and could enjoy real tranquillity and a sense of authentic Roman-ness while being near many important sites and at the same time enjoying perfect independence. Also, we could not be more grateful to Mirella who suggested this room to us and was very helpful with every little request we had.

There was nothing to not like.

The hotel's location is spectacular just a 7-minute walk from the train station (Termini) and 20 minutes from the Colosseum and Rome’s historic center. In addition, there were plenty of restaurants nearby offering a wide range of prices. A very good place.

The accommodation has a strong smell of mold (dampness), and the wardrobes smell musty. The shower cabin is too small; at first glance everything looks clean, except for the unpleasant smell.

Maybe a ventilator would make a huge difference, but they have AC for 10€.

We had an amazing stay in hotel il papavero! The stuff was really helpful and friendly and the room was constantly clean. Bonus points for the cutest little balcony we had in our room. Great spot next to a metro and several bus stations. Totally recommend, until next time!
