    Pros +

    • Staff very pleasant. Easy check-in and stored our luggage after esrly check-in. Appears to have been updated since our last visit. Very clean and pleasant. Super close to the Roma Termini train station!
    • The actual hotel is nice, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Checking in was a breeze. The room we got was spacious and clean. Very happy with our selection, I would definitely recommend this hotel.
    • the staff were very friendly and easy to talk to. The location was great. The Wi-Fi service was also very good thought the hotel.

    Cons -

    • The elevator is tiny and was too claustrophobic for me. But at least there IS an elevator. My husband used it to cart luggage and I used the stairs. On the third floor, but an easy climb.
    • To get to the hotel once you enter the building was a little confusing but following the signs you get there.
    • breakfast options could be better

Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean room. Lovely breakfast.

Don't be too scared of the stairwell! On arrival we felt very worried about how dark and grim appearance but as soon as we got to the floor of the hotel, we were met with a bright and clean hotel entrance.

The room is very clean, and the bed is extremely comfortable. It’s very close to Termini, so it’s convenient.

The shower is a bit small.

I stayed at Hotel Scott House from 3–7 January 2025 and had a very pleasant overall experience. The hotel is housed in an old building that is shared with other guesthouses and hotels across different floors, which adds to its character. There is a service lift available that can accommodate up to two people with luggage at a time. Alternatively, the stairs are always an option — and a good cardio workout if you prefer them. The hotel itself is well maintained and simply decorated, creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere. The room was comfortably furnished, very clean, and practical, with simple décor and the added convenience of a small fridge, which made the stay feel comfortable and relaxing. The hotel is extremely well located, just a short walk from Roma Termini train station and close to major bus stops, including those used by airport transfer services. This makes getting around Rome and travelling to and from the airport very convenient. There are plenty of nearby restaurants and convenience shops, and public transportation is easily accessible due to the hotel’s proximity to Roma Termini.I would especially like to commend the staff for their professionalism and friendliness. Lyn and Joyce were particularly helpful throughout my stay and made a positive difference to the overall experience.Despite the initial issue on arrival, I had a very enjoyable stay and would certainly choose to stay at Hotel Scott House again on a future visit to Rome.

The only downside occurred on arrival, as I was initially allocated the only remaining room (Room 401), which unfortunately had a noticeable smell of cigarette smoke from a previous occupant. It was surprising that this had not been identified prior to assigning the room. However, to the hotel’s credit, the issue was handled well — the following day I was moved to another room, and the staff kindly offered to transfer my luggage while I was out, so everything was ready upon my return.

    The staff were fine

Nothing, don’t stay in the hotel if you want to get any sleep, broken window in our first room was freezing, if somone else in the building flushing the toilet your whole room will vibrate and a loud noise

The location is fantastic. right opposite (1 block away) from Rome Termini. Its the perfect location if you are staying for 1-2 nights. Very convenient. They have a 24 hr reception and they are willing to store your bags if your flight is past check out time. We stayed for 2 nights. The reception staff are very friendly, spoke English and are very helpful.

The room was small (barely enough to have standing room) if you have luggage for 2 people. The Bathroom was small. Barely enough room to stand in the shower. Reaching down for a scrub was not possible. Water was hot. Heating worked well in winter. Above all the thing that worried was a "Damp and mouldy / musty smell" that permeated the room. It was difficult to not to escape it and we had to open the windows in the middle of winter when we were in the room. Could not find the source of smell or mould. But I think its well hidden with renovation

I had a very bad experience at this hotel. There was a strong sewage smell in the room coming from the bathroom, which made the stay very uncomfortable and disgusting. I ended up cleaning things myself, and I even used my own towel that I happened to bring with me.The room was extremely cold. There was no carpet on the floor, only one thin blanket provided, and the heating system was not working at all. On top of that, the room was very noisy because the window glass would not close properly. In addition, one of the reception staff members, a dark-skinned woman, treated me in an unkind and unprofessional manner. The breakfast was very poor and limited; there was almost nothing available, not even eggs. This was my first experience in Europe, and unfortunately it was very disappointing. I did not expect such poor cleanliness, comfort, or service.

The location is central. The room, albeit very small, had everything I needed and more. The breakfast was also great!

The room was quite small. Also, the walls are too thin so if anyone is talking, you can hear it clearly in the room. Perhaps a sign asking guests to be quiet after 10 pm could help. Finally, if you have heavy luggage, there are around 10 stairs at the entrance of the building that are not very convenient.
