Pros +
- Very nice room, nice shower and spacious.
- The hotel is in an excellent location, very close to the Colosseum, from which you can begin exploring the magical city of Rome. My stay at the Antica Locanda, just like last time, was of a very high standard. Everything met my expectations, so I can confidently recommend this hotel. Special recognition goes to the reception staff, especially Ms. Rossana, whose professionalism, kindness, and helpful attitude significantly enhance the overall quality of the hotel. Ms. Rossana is the most positive person in the entire hotel. She radiates positive energy, is always helpful, and definitely deserves the highest rating!!! I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return on my next visit!!!
- We were a three-generation family of seven. The two rooms were perfect for us. The breakfast was substantial, the staff were great. Our host made reservations every evening in wonderful local restaurants and helped us in so many ways. The rooftop garden was a lovely place to relax with a drink. We hope to return some day!
Cons -
- Due to location and lack of soundproofing we could hear a lot of loud street noise and dogs barking until 2am.
- I can’t think of a single thing that would improve our stay.

The room was cosy with comfortable beds. We had a good night's sleep every night. Could be a little noisy but close the windows, then it is fine. The location was excellent being close to Trevi fountain and the Colosseum. The staff were extremely friendly. The breakfast was sumptuous and satisfying. Will return to this hotel.
Nothing really
Almost everything was great - the hotel by itself, the room (especially interior), location and staff.
Breakfast was good, but the same every morning, so after few days it could be minus.
Location, staff and breakfast was good.
For us the bed was too hard.
Location
The sewer smell in our room was so bad we had to move into another room. The rooms are not quiet at night wirh the street noise if you are a light sleeper. Breakfast was plain.
The location. It is close to everything and in our favorite neighborhood in Rome.
This is tough, we really wanted to like this location as we visit a friend’s restaurant in the neighborhood twice a year and want a good place we can stay. Our arrival was the first issue. The door of the hotel was locked and people were waiting outside. We joined them and asked what was happening and they didn’t know. About five minutes of calling and texting a woman walks up and said she had to go to another building and unlocked the door. I believe her name was Rosanna. She didn’t care that we’d just arrived from our flight and that it was cold she just mentioned she had to go back and forth. She checked us in and talked over us as she asked if we’d been to Rome before and did we want a map? We said multiple times that we’d been to Rome frequently but she still showed us all the things on the map. We asked if we could go to the room and she walked us up to the Beethoven room.It was a little disappointing but seemed clean. The bathroom is small and dark. No drawers or storage and the shower is very narrow. The closet storage is limited but works if you are staying a short time. We stayed a week so it was tough. The biggest issue was the bed. Not only is it extremely hard but lumpy. The woman said we had to leave the keys with her when we leave. We asked if she would be at the desk and she waved our concerns away and took our keys.We went out for a walk and came back about 45 minutes later. Again, the door locked. No one around. We waited 9 minutes outside before she came back again. This time she argued with us about how long we waited and didn’t give us our key right away. From that point on we kept the key. The lovely woman that we spoke to about these issues did get a bed topper for the bed that helped a little but it was still one of the most uncomfortable beds I’ve stayed in.The breakfast also wasn’t what I expected. It wasn’t terrible it was as just simple with no choices.
Excellent location, lovely staff, clean and comfortable beds, good breakfast. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good hotel in Rome.

The location was very central to everything we wanted to see and do The breakfast was good and comfortable for us to enjoy and relax each morning. The staff was amazing and helped us with any of questions and gave amazing local advice.
Fantastic location
Quite noisy, from back street road noise and creaking floors above.
Excellent location, close to the Colosseum, Trevi fountain the Spanish steps, all within walking distance also a number of excellent restaurants, all very walkable.
The location was very centalized. Walkable to all historical landmarks. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was available early in order to head out on our adventures. Having an elevator was a plus, but there
Having an elevator was a plus, but it was very small, and there were still stairs to access rooms.
Excellent location, close to the Colosseum and Forum. Within easy walking distance of Metro station to travel further afield. Half an hour walk to Vatican. The room was a good size, with a small lobby before entering the bedroom and bathroom.Breakfast was good, once we got used to not having a buffet choice, the waiter was very efficient. Reception staff were really good. Breakfast tea was available! There were plenty of places close by to get an evening meal.
For me it was a bit noisy at night, the delivery and refuse vehicles seemed to start very early but I suppose that's part of city life. The bathroom was a bit smelly, maybe bad drains, ventilation was not good.As a non meat eater I didn't like having ham in the scrambled eggs at breakfast, nor the meats and cheeses mingling on the same plate.Wifi/Internet was rather hit and miss, internet seemed only to work in dining area or reception.
I stayed at this hotel for 7 days. I have been abroad many times and I have never received such service as it was here. The staff, the cleanliness, the area are perfect, close to all the exciting places and you can walk to them. If I return to Rome, I will stay at this hotel again.
The location is great. Near to great restaurants, terraces and Colosseum. The stuff is friendly.
From what I understand the hotel has two buildings, one old and one new. In the old one where we stayed, the air conditioning was very old and noisy and occasionally emitted steam. I was afraid to leave it on overnight, plus it couldn't handle it. For a day and a half we didn't have hot water, but then they solved the problem. Very poor breakfast.
My daughter and I enjoyed our time at Antica very much, we are great fans of small, family owned hotels and I was very pleased we chose it not only for its great location with close proximity to the best sites in Rome as well as to restaurants, cafes and gelatos, but also for the lovely service, wonderful staff and a nice breakfast, in beautiful surroundings and with access to a rooftop terrace.
Location is great
Bathroom smelled bad in the morning.Breakfast is always the same and lacks variety. They didn't change the bathroom towels
The staff was amazing and very kind and the rooms were comfortable.
The breakfast was the same every morning and the bed sheets had some small stains although they were clean.
