Pros +
- Friendly proprietor who arranged an airport pickup for us, good communication and checking in on the day of our arrival! Great, quiet location off a side street away from the crowds. Beautiful old building, and a lovely, clean room.
- The location was wonderful, the views from the porch were incredible, and the kitchen and bathroom were both modern and clean.
- Steps from the Rome train station, this is a perfect room for a quick stay to catch an early train. One comfortable and clean queen size bed, a small table with two chairs in front of the window, and a newly reno'd bathroom with a stand-up shower.
Cons -
- Stairs may be difficult for people with accessibility needs.
- The bed was miserable and there was no additional bedding available. The washing machine we'd hoped to use was out of order. And it's not so much a hotel as a residence. The hostess was communicative in advance, but there was no real reception.
- Somewhat difficult to find - look out for the small sign by the door.

The bathroom and shower were unexpectedly large and modern for italy! Breakfast served in the room was a delightful surprise. The location was not super close to the city - but near public transport and quiet, safe and reasonably central.
Extremely nice for the price and location
A little bit hard to find
Clean, lovely bathroom, tidied everyday
Poor wifiPosition in Rome meant you had to be bus savvy, use app Probus RomeNo breakfast, but great place just across he street
Very nice recepctionis. Room was good, air conditioner was working properly. The bed was very big and comfortable. Just a 10 minutes walk from Colosseum and also about 10 minutes from Terme do Caracalla, which is also worth visiting.
the room was so good, comfortable, and clean. The location is perfect, and the AC is good also.
it was clean and location was 10 min from colleseo. Women at recepion was very helpfull.
Wonderful lady , Couldn't do enough for us to Certainly would recommend this delightful place that is so close to the Colosseum ,Vatican ,Trevi fountain .Tome central 10 minutes.A delightful stay. Highly Recommend.
Not a thing ??
The room had a nice shower and the WiFi worked very well! The neighborhood where the hotel was located was very quiet.
The bed was a bit hard. There was just one pillow (for each person). There was a nice espresso-machine, but they didn’t put new coffee-cups.
Great location, wonderful staff, nice oldish style, great size of room
Internet not working well enough in bedroom
Everything was perfect: the location, the room, but above all, the kindness and solidarity of Pusha, the woman in charge of the reception. The airline lost my bag when arriving in Rome; she did every thing possible to get a response from the company and recover my bag... and she succeeded!
Never. Every thing was fine, perfect for our needs. Thank you very much for all.
Great room with working AC, mini fridge and comfortable beds. Very friendly and helpful host! Located next to a lovely ancient park, close to the colosseum by walking distance but far enough to avoid crowds and noise.
It’s really close to everything
Even though it’s forbidden to smoke in the facilities. There were people smoking cigars and weed. And all the smell came in to our room
The host was nice
The room did not look as advertised, the facilities were very old and it was difficult to go up and down stairs and use the old elevator with all of our luggage. No breakfast provided.
EVERYTHING went exceptionally well. The studio with a huge balcony and a lovely kitchen were perfect, the hostess went an extra mile to make us feel great, and the location is very nice and safe indeed. We enjoyed having late night dinners in local restaurants and pizzerias so much! I would return to Domus Caracalla any time with the greatest joy.
There was absolutely NOTHING I didn't like in Domus Caracalla. It's perfect.
We were going to the opera at the outdoor venue of Calacalla. This was an ideal location in a quiet neighbourhood. We had an elegant spacious twin room at the top of an old apartment building. Historic lift got us there. Great kitchen and balcony. Good air conditioning and wifi.
The host was super friendly and gave us really helpful local information. The room was clean and comfortable, ideal for a family.
The staff were amazing! Our room was cleaned everyday and the neighbourhood is quiet even though we were near the Colosseum. Roma Termini is a bus away and there is also a bus that takes you to Vatican and the other tourist spots. They kindly upgraded our room to a one with balcony because we stayed for 6 nights. Good value for money!
There is no laundry shop nearby and they didn’t offer a laundry service. The landlady did offer to let us use her washing machine though but she didn’t have a dryer. There is a small flight of stairs (probably 10steps) going to the lift so keep that in mind when you have a luggage. The closest Metro station is at least 1.5km away.
