Good location for what we were there for.
When asked if we wanted the 3 rooms together and I said yes when we got to rooms they were not even close to each other.
The hotel itself is nice, fairly clean, and has a pleasant design, nothing fancy. We didn't have breakfast, so we can't say much about it. There's parking in the same building. We arrived at 1 a.m. and left at 7 a.m., so we paid about 10 euros for parking. The only thing to keep in mind is that if you open your windows for some fresh air, you'll hear train noise, as the railway runs right next to the building.
The location was perfect, very close to S and U Bahn stations plus buses going all over town. Lots to see here, you could see the train tracks at an angle from our room, but with the window closed you heard nothing. The breakfast buffet wasn't cheap and offered nothing warm like scrambled eggs, pancakes etc., but the food was high quality (many bio products), fresh and varied. The staff was friendly, and everything was very clean. The beds were quite comfortable, we slept well.
The room was quite small for 2 people, very little space (adequate, not more) for luggage and moving around.
Location is good, quite room
Room is tiny, bathroom is tiny, no closet space, nowhere to put luggage. No water cooler in hotel, no coffee machine or kettle in the room.
Motel One never disappoints. As always good quality for what you pay. Location is good but there are better alternatives if you want to stay in the center of West Berlin.
The hotel itself is clean, trendy and very comfortable. Pretty close to the best spot in the city
Lack of a minibar
Great location and right near the train station so was easier to travel in and around Berlin! As a solo traveller I felt safe and would stay at another motel one again.
My room on the 2nd was really hot and the aircon was only blowing warm air
Hotel is in an excellent position, the staff are great always helpful & polite. Its clean & comfortable. The whole experience was very good.A pity there was no FRIDGE or KETTLE in the room this was a big drawback for me.
I did like it What i didn't like was no fridge or kettle
The bar decor was nice.
Where to begin? This place is not child friendly at all. Even though Booking.com says they provide cots, they don't. The room size is tiny, the put me and my twins in the smallest room they had, even though disabled larger rooms were available i found out, by a colleague who was put in that room after my arrival. The receptionist were rude, speaking about us in German. Apparently the bar boasts a wide selection of cocktails, the bar man in the afternoon brought me the worst caiprinha I've ever had, then had the audacity to tell me this is how they make them in Berlin when i comlained which i knew was a lie.. This was later confirmed when several other restaurants and bars made it correctly. He couldn't even make an old fashion properly. There's no kettle in the room i had to go and buy one. For the price they charge i actually expected alot more. Oh and 3 colleagues walked into the hotel, took a look at their room and moved immediately, one to the bristol hotel and the others to the Hoxton
Quiet and well located.
Tables and chairs at breakfast are the same as the bar, too low
It was a good hotel and good location
If the bathroom door could open while taking shower as it for so stuffy and steamy as there was no air going out
Superb
Room is very tiny, we travelled with two backpacks for one night so it wasn’t a problem.
The only benefit of this hotel is its location - just next to the Zoo and Zoo railway station.
1. The receptionist was not very welcoming. Just imagine you are staying in front of her, and she actively demonstrates how she is busy with the computer, not noticing your presence at all—no "hi," "hello," or smile. In three minutes, she finally produces a deep gasp, raises her eyes at you, and says: "Well, what can I do for you?" Then, she was irritated by your low voice. Then she asked for your wife's passport and thoroughly inspected it. Then, noticing that it was a Ukrainian passport, she started to speak to you Russian. The next adventure with the same person is the next day. She sees your dogs (three small pets) and says that you have to pay for their stay, emphasizing that there is a special cleaning procedure and that some people having allergies might be affected by dogs - the whole speech implies that your dogs are dirt and dangerous creatures. Feeling insulted, I asked how much, and she said that it should be 16 euros per dog per night; I calculated and asked - is it about one hundred euros for two nights? She said yes, and then I asked for the manager; she said the manager would be available tomorrow and would speak to you. The next day, when I was going to deliver a lecture at the university, I was attacked by her (supported by the manager), and I was told that since I did not visit the manager (I believed that the manager should visit me), I must pay immediately (now it is implied that I could run away without paying for my dogs). Then I was told that I would pay 32 euro, I agreed, left for the lecture, and then paid. In the final instance, I felt bad in this hotel. These two people were nervous, unfriendly, and arrogant, particularly the female person. Must admit, that all other staff was OK, cheerful and helpful.2. Do not take breakfast in this hotel. It is a kind of fiction.3. There is no kettle in the room, if you want to have a tea - go downstairs and buy it (3 euro).
the bed was very comfortable.
there was zero air movement in the room, the AC or Fan did not work, the only way to get air circulation was to open the windows but then you couldn't sleep Bec cause of the trains that go by. I had booked the room fort a great night sleep after a long day and week of moving. However the air in the room was suffocating. I had requested a street view room too, yet was given the tracks. The breakfast was under whelming and I wouldn't pay that much for a continental breakfast again. I was hoping for warm food.
everyone was really nice. the location was perfect for what i wanted to to. breakfast nice and i enjoyed just being there.
the room was a little dusty and there were streaks on the bottom of the bathroom floor, some pain was chopping also, but still passable
It's a pretty standard Motel One, so if you stayed in one, you have an idea. The location is very good, it's two minutes from Zoologischer Garten Sbahn/Ubahn, and you can find plenty of shops/restaurants/cafes around. The staff is friendly and the WiFi is really good.
The room was very small and dark; the only window is looking at the yard of some house, so if you keep it open, you have people looking into your room. The house keeping wasn't best either, the cleaning lady would come to my room at 9 and when I asked her to come a bit later she did not show up for some days and I had to ask at the reception as my garbage bins were full already. The pillows weren't comfortable to my taste. These are all, though, minor concerns and may be just my bad luck
Pleasant staff, location close to public transportation, nice area to walk around
Small room and a little bit too expensive
Bright, comfortable, clean, safe, comfy, quiet even on a busy street, arty, friendly, books and vegan choices for breakfast.
The only improvement for me would have been access to hot water for drinks without asking for it - but it was provided with a smile when asked for!
