- The location was excellent! Near subway stations, train stations, restaurants. Very centric and easy to traverse within the area.
Cons -
- The shower was outside of the room. Though for my use only, it felt a bit ackward
- The room, the dining area, the corridors, the entrance - all are extremely modest. The wifi was slow, it was difficult to work inside the room.
- the Wi-Fi could be better. The signal was low and it dropped from time to time. the system of printing tickets with username and password was a little difficult to use.

The breakfast was really good. It had everything we needed to be able to start our journey and it starts early so we could eat and enjoy more of our time traversing the area.
The Wi-Fi could be better. there are other solutions that could be used to ensure better quality of service for the Wi-Fi. Also the pillows were somewhat flat and difficult to use.
The location was perfect! It’s off Friedrichstraße - one of Berlin’s most famous streets, where you can enjoy boat cruises along the Spree River. It’s about 10-15 walk to all the main historic sights: Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag Building, Museum Island, Berliner Dom and The Berlin TV Tower. About 30 min walk to Berlin Wall.Restaurants and shopping right on the corner. About 300-400m to a train and subway. Clean rooms, great breakfast, nice staff. Highly recommend!
Internet is awful ? No fridge, no air conditioning.
Location is great, and the room is decent. For one night, it was very nice.
The problem is that the room and the room door do not have any isolation, and it was very noisy during the night because the other guests didn't know how to close the doors of the building and their room. It's more about them than the property itself, but it was impossible to sleep due to the door noise all the time. The hotel should invest in door stoppers or rubber to make it less noisy. Also, there was only one thin pillow in the room.
Breakfast fine, simple good German style stuff. Staff friendly. Basic but clean and fresh-feeling room. Simple but effective bathroom. Location: walking distance both from central station and downtown.
Breakfast starts only at 8, could be a bit earlier. Without that, a coffee-maker in the room would be nice.
Location, and my family is booked there already so I got a room for myself my last night as out plans changed.
I am an adult and their single bed was for a child. It was just too small bed. But the room is really clean.
Location. Friendly staff. Clean.
They change towels every three days. Noice isolation is poor so you can hear everything from other rooms. I could hear poeple on the phone or taking shower. Breakfast is basic and it starts at 8 o'clock which is a bit late if you have duties that day.
Location is excellent!
At the beginning when we first arrived they gave me a very bad and ugly room. I complained, and next day they accepted to give me another room, which was better. A major problem with this hotel is wifi. It's very bad, slow, and they change the codes every morning: it is absurd!Trying to check things from work on internet was a nightmare!
Location was close to the popular touristic places. Every morning there was a satisfying breakfast. Hotel staff was friendly!
After reading all those bad reviews, I was really skeptical about Hotel Amelie, but as I got there, my fears cleared up and I was immensely relieved. The hotel is ok, really, especially if you travel alone for work like me. It’s old school, but sorta charming, like that retro Berlin Altbau kind of charme… And the rooms were clean and warm and quiet, no cockroaches or sketchy people or dubious smells. It was all very basic, but nice. So thumbs up for hotel Amelie!
The internet connection is unstable. If you are planning to binge watch Netflix or long Zoom sessions, forget it.
Good
The receptionist didn’t speak any English which was fine since we are Italian and pretty much understood what she said but for a non European tourist could be a big problem
A nice old but very spacious studio flat in the middle of Mitte, great location, friendly stuff and an original Berlin Altbau. 4-5 ⭐️
The only thing which could possibly be improved is the floor, which was old linoleum making for a rather sober atmosphere and the wall pictures, where a bit more phantasy, ie hangings from younger artists in the vibrant local arts community, could help
The staff were great, really friendly and helpful and that includes the cleaning staff who were fabulous! The breakfast and coffee were good - excellent value for money and nice that it was close to the main train station.
Room was old but nice, clean and functional. I was told it is a heritage building, so renovation is limited, but it had its charm, like bed on upper floor. Shower was functional, with fully closed door, shower gel, shampoo and soap. Staff was nice but communication complicated.Very good location with great nearby italian restaurant on the same street.
Do not book if you cannot speak German or Russian as no day receptionists /staff spoke English, only night receptionist. I got by with my school learned German. There was no WIFI in room first night (I had warning from my provider that it is dangerous, with expired certificate and someone is likely trying to hack me. I saw it removed "https" and replaced with "http", then receptionist helped me connect to another wifi, but it worked only in a reception.Bed had lumps and hallway light were flickering.Misscomunication issues: After late flight arrival at 22:00 had missed call from hotel if they should cancel my room as I did not show up. The staff said they did not get my numerous requests via Booking (I had confirmation that it is ok). Day staff said they do have my late check in noted. Then TV was not working, requested fix next morning and had to request it again in the evening (night receptionist fixed it).
Location of the hotel is in in the centre
accommodation provided was far below what was reasonably expected, especially given the price paid, and I believe this situation violates my consumer rights, both under UK law and European Union law.The following issues occurred during my stay:1. Upon checking in, I found the bed in my assigned room was broken. After raising this issue, I was moved to another room of similar size and facilities. However, both mattresses (in the original and new rooms) were old and uncomfortable, severely impacting my quality of sleep.2. The furniture throughout both rooms was outdated, visibly damaged, and unsightly, greatly diminishing the comfort and enjoyment of the stay.3. The TV did not function properly. After replacing a damaged aerial cable and reconfiguring the settings multiple times, the hotel eventually replaced the entire TV. However, this process was disruptive and impacted my overall experience.4. On the last night of my stay, the room was filled with a strong sewage odor, making it uninhabitable. Despite my multiple requests for assistance, and attempts by staff to address the issue by pouring chemicals and hot water into the toilet and shower, the smell persisted. As a last resort, I suggested closing the bathroom door to isolate the smell and used a fan to blow the odor out through the window throughout the night. These issues indicate that the accommodation failed to meet the necessary standard required by both the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and European Union Directive 2011/83/EU on Consumer Rights. Under these laws, services provided must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. Clearly, the service provided did not meet these obligations, and
The cost doesn’t worth it.No good breakfast facility. No room serviceOldIam surprised how booking.com have included such property
The property is on an excellent location. East to walk to any scenic area in the heart of Berlin. Easy access to public transportation, restaurants, and shops. The staff was friendly and nice. The breakfast was simple but tasty.
The property desperately needs to be upgraded. The floor, furniture, beds, bathroom are old and the phone to call reception did not work. It would also be nice to have a small fridge in the room.
Comfortable beds. Adequate accommodations and breakfast. Excellent location.
Furniture and property is old and needs updating.
