    Pros +

    • Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice. It was nice and quiet despite a school trip, perfect for families. Lots of board games if you want to play them and a game is left in your room on arrival.
    • I really liked the location of the CityLight Hotel. It is very close to Gesundbrunnen train station, which made getting around Berlin easy and convenient. I also appreciated how clean the room was during my stay.
    • Very nice hotel, close to train station, very good breakfast and room

    Cons -

    • The fridge wasn’t cold and apparently they were working but ours definitely wasn’t and had a bad smell. The room didn’t have tea and coffee facilities but they do have them down at the bar where you can buy drinks. Our children couldn’t really make use of the games room either due to school trips.
    • I was given a different room than the one I had booked. It was much smaller and had only one bunk bed instead of two, which was a serious issue for us, as I had specifically booked two bunk beds due to my daughters’ needs. The hotel staff did not offer a real solution and only suggested drink vouchers, which was unacceptable.Additionally, a room for four people was poorly equipped: only two glasses, just one 330 ml bottle of water in the minibar, and no shampoo or shower gel in the bathroom. Overall, the amenities were insufficient and negatively affected our stay.
    • The floor was hard, like a school floor. So every jump made by the kids seemed loud. We weren't too bothered, but not sure if our neighbours could hear us. Perhaps a kettle would have been nice in the room.

Very nice hotel, close to train station, very good breakfast and room

    7KrisPosted on: 12-15-2025

Very handy to the train station and a mall with supermarkets and food options. The room was huge. Plenty of space for our family of 5. The bathroom was clean with a nice hot, well pressured shower. The staff had put Christmas chocolates and a game in the room for us, which was a nice touch. It seemed like a quiet weekend as we didn't see many people around the hotel. Check-in and out was smooth. The area the hotel was in seemed dirty but safe, although we were always home before 8 pm...

The floor was hard, like a school floor. So every jump made by the kids seemed loud. We weren't too bothered, but not sure if our neighbours could hear us. Perhaps a kettle would have been nice in the room.

The rooms are clean, the staff is helpful, and the hotel’s location is good. Breakfast is sufficient, and there are automated machines for pancakes, butter, and drinks. Also I want to say free table tennis, pool game and dart are good for kids.

Food was excellent. And there’s a little play area for kids with lots of toys in the cafeteria my kids loved.

Asides the kitchen staff, the other staff could be a bit friendlier afterall the stay at the property is paid for.

Everything was there as it should be and decently clean. We liked the family room set up for our kids. There wasn't any major complaints for our stay.

We unfortunately visited at the same time as a large student group so the lines were very long at breakfast. There was a lot of noise during the evening too.

It’s a great hotel for families with kids. Well organized and clean. Good value for money

Breakfast is great with wide selections. Breakfast room is also large and comfortable. The short walk to the Gesundbrunnen train/metro station is a big convenience factor. Hot water was instant and with good pressure in the shower.

The area can be a little sketchy at night- like most areas around the public transportation hubs in major European cities. Elevator is small and slow. Beds are a little firm and the mattresses make cracking sounds when you're tossing and turning during sleeping. No complimentary shampoo in the shower. Dont forget to bring your own.

Property was very nice clean and comfortable

No nothing anything in it which I didn’t not like it everything is good

The breakfast is beyond my expectation. It is very good, and relatively cheaper than another hotel I stayed in Berlin. It is worth booking.

The facilities are simple, but it is fine with me. The room is beside a road. Automobile's noises are inevitable. But in the night it is very quiet.

Near train station . Spacious room. Free WiFi. Breakfast buffet . Plenty of board games to keep kids occupied. Friendly staff

Very little vegetarian option in breakfast buffet. Lilted fruit variety . Watermelon finished and no replacement of same. Hash brown finished and not replaced . The rooms were not cleaned . No toiletries. Pillows were not comfortable. Room Fridge wasn’t working , despite complaining nothing was done. Kids bunk Beds were making squeaking sounds

    Basic, poor value accommodation in...

The room is was extremely basic. Whilst we admittedly booked at short notice, the price was extortionate.

    8IvanPosted on: 10-11-2025

Less than 10 minute walk from the railway station Gesundbrunnen with express trains from and to the airport. 24-hours front desk was manned through the night, and I checked in quickly, even though I arrived very late following a flight delay. I enjoyed the breakfast in a big hall, there was a great variety, including delightful and aromatic local seasonal apples (as well as other fruits). The room was clean, and even the TV worked with many local and international channels. Nice view to a rock-climbing park across the street with stunning colors of the fall foliage.

The water pressure in the shower could have been a bit stronger. No shampoo was provided, only one small piece of hard soap. The elevator is very old and it takes it long to arrive, but in the end it does the job.

Staff particularly helpful. Good breakfast - if standard continental style.Good transport links to sights.

Tv not working - must not have worked before. Not a problem until wanted to watch some fitba’.

    The shower could be better

I've been to Berlin many times but it was the first time I stayed in a hotel off the beaten track near the Gesundbrunnen station. The location is not as convenient as Kurfurstendamm or Alexanderplatz but I liked it a lot. Citylight is only 5 minute walk to the station that is well connected to the city. The hotel is very basic but very comfortable and people there are very helpful. The room was rather small but very clean, nicely laid out and had a fridge which was the reason I booked it in the first place. Overall it was a very nice stay for one night on a tight budget.

We liked that our Room was quickly changed when we asked about it.

In our Room on the Upper floor there was a Smell of cheese, very strong, which didn‘t disappear during 3-4 hours of open windows. We don‘t know what was the reason of it, the room was clean. There was nothing in the fridge. But we were happy to change the room.

Easy parking, close to tram and underground station. Just outside the low-emission zone, one can go by car without green tag.

There is no air conditioning in the room. The surrounding area is noisy.
