Hotel Residenz Begaswinkel

The Hotel Residenz Begaswinkel is in a great location, and it definitely has a sort of decayed decadence charm to spare.

That being said, my room had unidentified stains on a wall, the lighting situation was less-than-ideal throughout the hotel, and there was little to no privacy--including my room facing the hallway to another. (It's also a challenge to actually find.)

Extraordinary house in the middle of Berlin. Calm and quiet backyard location in the pulsing heart of the city.

A lovely old building in a central location with spacious light-filled rooms, moderately priced, and a very nice breakfast!

Breakfast offerings were great. Location was excellent. Close to several trains and buses and walking distance to National art gallery and other points of interest.

In this day and age we need many outlets to charge devices and found that was an issue in the room. We had excellent toilet flushing but our friends did not.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room had a great atmosphere, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. We definitely recommend it

The only downside was that there was no parking available.

Great location with easy access to train stations and buses. I was offered a room upgrade to a super spacious room with a very comfortable bed, cleaned and kept tidy every day. The best thing for me was how absolutely noiseless the room was—so quiet. The staff were friendly and made me feel like I was staying in a local home. Decent breakfast with plenty of options.

Nothing really!

The hotel is decent, the room was clean . No tea a coffee which was disappointing. The area is ok. Only 5-10 mins walk to underground . No decent restaurants nearby so had to eat elsewhere and get underground back. There is a supermarket a few doors down and a decent coffee shop a few mins away. It was good value for money overall. Breakfast was typical buffet, no complaints about it.

They were very friendly, the rooms are nice and the location is great!

Due to the Marathon all hotels were expensive.

Amazing breakfast. Perfect scrambled eggs. Lots of variety of bread, fruit. Vegetal milk available. Loved it!

No extra pillows or blankets. The room was a bit cold.

Staff is friendly when she is available, but she is not most of the time

It is hard to find within a yard, not very clearly marked. Very dark during evening hour, so it does n’t feel safe to walk in. I was staying on the ground floor, there are people coming back around 12-1 every night, when they open the front door, my room door will have some sound due to the air flow.The hotel gives 2 physical keys, one for the room and another for the hotel door since it is not staffed most of the time, and I haven’t see anyone during the evening hour when I came back. The street near the hotel has some interestingly ofd activities every evening.

Breakfast was awesome. They have a very beutiful kitchen with everything you need. Went for the marathon and the start gate is very close.

It is very quiet and in a neighborhood with good public transportation.Room is quite big and the bed was comfortable. There are plenty of options for breakfast although people with food allergies would hard to pick

We traveled with a small child and there was only 2 chairs in the room. A third one would have been great to have. The bathroom is very small so using the toilet and the shower is tricky for someone who is bigger than an 'average sized person'.The floor is creaking loudly both in the rooms and in the hallways. It's not too bad but a bit annoying.

Nice friendly small hotel in a good calm location. Easy to find a parking lot. Each room had a different design and was clean. Dogs welcome to an extra cost.

Nice location...perfect room with comfortable bed...and the best is the really good breakfast with the beautiful view at the terasse...
