    • When we arrived at Generator Prenzlauer Berg we were told, that our reservation at Prenzlauer Berg was changed to Generator Berlin Mitte. We were apparently informed about that a couple of months before our stay in Berlin by email. I have somehow missed that email in the constant rain of spam from booking.com. Anyway too late to find another hotel at similar price, so even if I did see the email, there would be nothing to be done about it. There was no explanation about why our reservation was changed. We have chosen Prenzlauer Berg location, because it was close to the site of the show we were going to see that night. And there is a large parking nearby, convinient for those that travel by car. Generator Berlin Mitte was noisy because of the traffic on the Street, the tourists at the restaurants below, and the airconditioning/ventilation in the room, which despise of that was unpleasantly warm. We had to park in the street far away from the hotel and walk.

    Cons -

    • This hostel understood everything about cost minimization. They claim to be a hostel and behaves as a hotel. No kitchen to cook, they just have a restaurant. Example: a towel rent is 6 euros... very dirty showers and toilets. The beds are not comfor
    • The check out time was at 10 a.m.. You had to pay 5€ if you wanted to leave later.
    • My room was really bad. The bed cuts the room in half and there’s no way to go from one side of the room to the other without getting on the bed. This was really inconvenient for me specially having a dog with me. Additionally the bathroom was really bad. It looked like a portapotty and was pretty dirty as well. I asked to change rooms and the lady was not nice and said no even though she had just changed the person in front of me’s room because “someone tried to get inside”. There was not carpet or no smaller towels. Just two regular sized towels in total. Which i don’t think is enough. The elevator was extremely bad as well. Really slow and not enough. Also noone really helped me with my stuff not even in the lobby getting in. Noone interacted with me they kept talking amongst themselves.

The spaces downstairs and the location

Учсуддуте hostel пщщв deal for its price, everything you need for journey, excellent wifi, in all rooms enough spaces and so comfortable beds with owm light and sockets for charge devices, toilets and bathrooms on the floor - all are clean and tidy, situated near public transport and ALDI and other food supermrkets - no probs to get anywhere. In rooms are comfortable temmerature and radiatirs work - so you can easily dry your clothes. Hot water for shower. Big lobby-where you can work or chill. Totally appreciated!

Everything great, just little nuances - sometimes could be noisy at lobby because of many people (but great music). And in bathroom little confused with 2 separate working faucets in washbasin - hot and cold water that not mixed with each other. But that`s no matters generally :)

The hotel part of Generator is very clean, tidy, and new. It's perfect for a short stay.

My friends came late with the plane and I went to pick them up at the door and the security kept asking me questions because they thought they were not guests. Also a fire alarm triggered at like 9AM but nobody seemed to care about it so it was just an annoying sound. I guess someone smoked in the room or something.

It is extremely tidy and clean, the rooms are huge and the stuff welcoming

There weren’t tends to cover sides of the beds for more privacy

    4AlexandrePosted on: 11-16-2023

    it was clean

it felt like a prison, plus the night security was taking his job a little too seriously. Felt like he was security in a prison

Good location. Maybe the cleanest hostel I've ever slept in. The staff is nice, some of them are incredibly nice.

There was a big difference between men and women showers on our floor (6), found out asking my boyfriend. So in the women's shower there was no possibility to brush the teeth and wash the face or hands with warm water, because for every sink there were two far separated taps (one with almost iced water and another with almost boiling). And even though the shower was really clean, it was pretty uncomfortable because there was no shower head, only some holes and water was just splashing out of it. In the men's shower everything was adequate.

Great view of the TV tower from our room. Everything was nice and clean and uncomplicated.

It's a hostel so it can get a little loud at times. But it was not too bad!

    9Mirjam-meeritPosted on: 11-5-2023

Clean room. Sink in the room. Pretty clean bathroom and hairdryer in the bathroom. Good value for money.

The self check-in system didn't work as expected and people had to wait for an employee but that wasn't too big of a problem. The faucets in the bathroom were too close to the sink so it was difficult to wash hands. The shower heads were static on the wall and weren't ained ideally which made it a bit uncomfortable to shower.

The room itself was very comfortable, and the hostel put on a decent breakfast, and the staff were generally very helpful. It is also in a good location near the S-Bahn and is decently priced for Berlin.

The gents toilets and showers on my floor were covered in graffiti, and worse still the toilets themselves were locked, meaning I had to resort to using the disabled toilet, which itself had a broken seat and the door did not close properly, this would have been exceptionally bad for a disabled visitor. The showers only had one curtain facing onto a long corridor so you got very little privacy when dressing and undressing. Also the lifts were very, very slow.

Location close to the center. Train and tram station nearby. Grocery store, kebab & burger king very close.

It's typical low cost accomodation. Not very comfortable but fair according to the price.

    3UnknownPosted on: 11-2-2023

The location is convenient. There's Rewe and dm nearby.

The toilet in our room smells bad and the water in the shower is small. The carpet on the 1st floor smells so bad that I need to hold my breath and run through the hallway every time I pass by.

    Disappointing

problems with rooming, difficult to find out which room has what no of beds..., booked rooms with privat bath room and not received this

Basic hotel, but everything is on hight level.Location is super - 2 min to metro.Staff is friendly.Everything is very clean.

    Nothing :)

    8VictoriaPosted on: 10-27-2023

The rooms were clean and it was easy to find them. The hallways and lobby were clean and organised. While the bathroom was tiny, it was clean and had what was needed. The easy access to public transit was an absolute delight. The ventilation in the room was adequate and the windows could be opened for fresh air.The room's size has been optimised. We were in rooms 115 and 116.Having to be either buzzed in or use your keycard regardless of the time of day was a nice security measure, along with the security guards being present at all times.

The shower head was placed at an awkward angle, had a very narrow spray and couldn't be moved, which made it troublesome to shower. The actual shower space was cramped, squeaky and slippery, but it's manageable.
