Pros +
- Cozy, felt homey
- It's a nice place in a very old house with old elevator.
- Great location, friendly staff, room is big (but bathroom small, especially the shower). No kettle but you can help yourself in the dining area
Cons -
- A bit difficult to find the sign on the street, definitely walked past it at first.
- It is a basic hotel with basic but nice rooms. A room / amenities in the range of 80-100€ per night. There is no real issue but the price / night is quite inflated.
- As above, shower is very small. Also, we had trouble opening the main door with the key, needed help from others to open it

Location. Ambience, staff

Very nice style, have a look at the pictures, if you like the vibe, it’s exactly what you get. It felt cozy and cool and the same time. The place is clean, about 10 minutes from the S Bahn, many restaurants and cafes nearby.Staff are really nice and helpful.
It’s an old building so you may hear squeaky floors or doors but that didn’t bother me, was fitting to the style and old building vibe that I enjoyed.
Location is good
As reception area has charm but rooms on a second floor do not have it. The furniture and overall condition is too far on a scale from charm to old and used. There was a bug on a bed that I had to kill. Also the cleaning lady refused to wait 10 minutes for me to leave the room to clean it. 10 minutes! She said she has to go home and left.
Great breakfast, quiet location
Lack of lobby. Did not like a room in a conference space
The room was big and comfortable - more roomy than most EU rooms.
The door was not noise-proof, so passage noises, creaking floorboards and conversations where audible.
Very good
Breakfast option was pretty expensive. They could provide a cheaper continental only offering; and then standard price for full breakfast.
The hotel is located in a very convenient location, and thanks to its rather unusual placement in an old apartment building, it is peaceful and quiet. The breakfast buffet is definitely a standout feature. The staff have also been very helpful and accommodating throughout our stay.
The rooms and the architecture provide a very unique atmosphere, but some of the facilities could use a little renovation.
Very charming Art Deco hotel throwing you back into the Golden 20s in Berlin. IThe owner and his team are super friendly and helpful. Strongly recommended.
Nothing really.
Great position, lovely neighbourhood. Quirky room that makes the experience much better than staying in a soulless hotel. In the end, it feels more like a B&B.
It would be great if apartments had a fridge and kettle.
nice location and quite nice rooms
we are a family and we were put on 2 different floors, lots of stairs, not very convenient - there are 2 flats on levels 2 and 4 in very tall building.
beautiful really nice staffspacious quiet neighbourhood inside block facing windowsbeautiful old elevator
the light from the hallway stayed on during the night and was shining bright into our face from the little window
Great location in quiet, safe and residential area just next to Ku’damm. Walking distance to everything from highstreet to luxury brand shopping, Tiergarten and the Zoo, and both S-bahn and U-bahn stations for easy access to other parts of town. Many cafes, restaurants and supermarkets in the area. We had booked the family suite which was nothing but perfect for our family; two rooms and a kitchenette, facing the yard, which meant it was very quiet at night with no noise from the street. It felt more like having our own flat than a hotel room!
We loved everything about this place! The pressure in the shower could be better, but I don’t think this is something that the hotel can do anything about tbh. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Berlin!
Superb location. Nice area of the city, conveniently close to S Bahn S3 and S9, with lots of close by restaurants & bars. At check-in the staff member was very welcoming, and was able to give me several vegan restaurant options - I’d particularly recommend Vegang, on Kant Strasse.
Only criticism is that my room, 3, was directly adjacent the reception and close to the breakfast room so there was some noise first thing in the morning as staff prepared for the day ahead.
Art nouveau building and was well maintained. A 4th floor hotel - quiet and friendly The staff were helpful and the breakfast fabulous - a wonderful variety of good quality food.
The hotel is in an old apartment building on the 4th floor. The notice in our bathroom reminds us that it is (was, surely) an upper-middle class apartment owned by a family who managed to flee before the war started. Our room (17) was on the second floor, and we can only guess that it was acquired after the hotel was set up. The lift connecting the floors is original, with wrought iron and wood and moves silently between floors. Our bed was (thankfully) not rubber, was nice and firm and overlooking a tree filling the courtyard at the back. They have an honesty bar, which was nice, as there are no staff on site after 8pm.
The breakfast room on the 4th floor was small, crowded and awkward to navigate if more than two people were up wandering between tables for food and coffee. Being in a room downstairs we felt disconnected and staff seemed never able to remember our room numbers. We were the only gay British couple staying there.
The perfect hotel to use as a base to explore Berlin. Step back in time to enjoy a truly beautiful art nouveau experience. Positioned on three floors within a beautiful apartment building, this was such a lovely place to stay. We are two friends who stayed for a week in Berlin and we were given the two biggest rooms which were gorgeous. I felt like royalty waking up to the sunshine in my glorious room with high ceilings and so much space, it was like an apartment. The breakfast room is equally charming. The honour bar came in very handy in the evenings after dinner at one of the many excellent restaurants nearby. We found the location exceptional with Savignyplatz station only a few minutes walk away, taking you almost anywhere in the city. Some days we used Lime Bikes to ride home through the Tiergarten. Staff were lovely and we really didn’t want to leave this beautiful hotel.
Warm welcome, delicious breakfast, big room. Very good value for money. Thank You!
